4 months later and I still really like it. It’s kind to the skin, hydrating, long lasting up to 8 hrs (really depends on what I’m doing that day). It accepts other cosmetics applied on top, and the skin care underneath. doesn’t change color and I apply it pretty sheer. No breakouts. have 2 more waiting in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Very happy and my go to on a daily basis. Here in the US I can buy it online at Ulta. Never would have found it without you.

(ONLY the mint green writing) False Lash Effect mascara (not waterproof) and their Essence Pure Nude highlight powder. I love that you test it on your skin and do one side brush and other BBlender. I love this foundation. I have oily t-zone mature skin. I wear it with Dr Brandt primer and use a little powder on my t-zone. It lasts ALL day and still looks good. When we were wearing masks it didn’t rub off. It’s my go to now over everything else I have.

I thought it looked great! It didn't create any problems AND it looked flipping brilliant after 10 hours wear ... amazing for £5! I actually bought two shades of this foundation about 3 weeks ago and I still haven't tried it. Maybe, after watching this, I'll get round to using it soon. I got my Chantecaille foundation today and don't ask me how I managed it, but I picked the perfect shade for me and I mean "perfect". So the Essence one shall have to wait a little longer until I have tried the Chantecaille one. Cant wait, 💗🌸💞🌸💞💗🌸💞💗

I just watched another review of this where the influencer compared five affordable foundations. This was the least expensive one and it was the winner! I planned to buy it for the summer to apply over mineral sunscreens. I like the semi matte coverage! (No powder!!)
@@champagenroses I use the Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Face liquid sunscreen, SPF 50. It's not supposed to leave a white cast, but it does leave a slight cast on my face. I'm super pale so I look like a ghost if I don't wear something over it. I also wear a chemical sunscreen, the La Roche Posay Anthelious Ultra Light sunscreen, SPF 60 when I don't want to deal with a white cast!
@@Patti-1962 I have tried this Neutrogena sunscreen too. I think most of the mineral based sunscreen some of them do leave a white cast on the skin :( Thanks for letting me know :)
@@Patti-1962 I have a friend who uses the Elta MD sunscreen. I noticed that this sunscreen has a slight tint to it... there isn't any white cast, it is abit pricey though. Cerave has a tinted sunscreen too. I may give this one a try when it's available where I live. Take care and thank you again :)

Hi Gem, I bought the Essence Pretty foundation, shades, 30, 40 and 50. I am 67 and have dry patches with thread veins on my cheeks. This foundation is fabulous. It is buildable (on my red cheeks) but looks like I am not wearing any makeup at all. Lasted all day. I used my Zoeva foundation brush and it went on beautifully. Love your videos.

My skin is normal/oily. I did not feel the need to powder (just under eyes). I used it with the Essence Prime + Studio putty primer. Let's see how long it lasts.
Based on your expert recommendation and thorough ttutorials, I went out and bought this foundation, 😊😊😊 In Australia “ drugstore” isn’t inexpensive, upon saying that essence is more affordable than other brands. Here’s hoping I’ve found a keeper.

I’m on the way to Meijers. I use their eyebrow pencils and love them cuz they are so fricking cheap and amazing. Saw these a few months ago and completely forgot about them. Man I just spent $14 on a crappy ELF CC cream I hate so what do I have to lose. My go to is usually Revlon colorstay cuz it lasts forever. But I like to mix that with a tiny bit of colorstay full cover (in the tube) I mix two colors and it’s a perfect match. I also just tried the nyx born this way which I like but it just turns a little orangy.
You can definitely wear a wing! Instead of applying it like a non-hooded eye where you trace along the lid and then draw the wing, you would draw the liner just past the hooded area at an outward angle. I have hooded eyes and can wear a wing, but if I'm too close to the "hood" part, it looks bad, so you have to kind of find that perfect spot. Have you tried this before? Oh, and have you tried the straight line technique (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called)? It gives you the wing/cat eye effect too! Trust me, you can rock one :)

I love this makeup look!🥰 What a beautiful red lip. I really love your eye makeup too and your skin looks hydrated and smooth. Wow! I’m glad I just ordered this online a few days ago though I might have gotten a shade too light for me but hey there’s always bronzer lol. It’s $6.99 here in the US but not bad! It lasted really well too. I’m excited to try it!
I think it's good, but not hydrating, but rather matte and on the dry side. Very natural though, so I think it really depends how dry you are, if you are able to use it. "Geek Out of Water" here on RUclips reviewed it and it was far too dry for her skin.
I love Essence Gemma. Their twist up eyeliners are absolutely fantastic and cheap as chips. 040 looks great on you! Wee trip to Wilko tomorrow then. 😘😘😘

Hi Gemma, can you please try No7 HydraLuminous AquaRelease Skin Perfector? I think it could be a dupe for the Chanel Water Fresh Skin Tint. Also, milk makeup skin tint has now come to the UK but it is £39 for 16ml and I just don't think it's worth it!

Thanks for another great review. I'm so thankful you introduce good products at great prices as well as high end. A while back you reviewed and recommended the (now defunct) CYO Long Lasting Foundation and, since I stockpiled several bottles, it is still my everyday foundation. I love this makeup look!🥰 What a beautiful red lip. I really love your eye makeup too and your skin looks hydrated and smooth. Wow! I’m glad I just ordered this online a few days ago though I might have gotten a shade too light for me but hey there’s always bronzer lol. It’s $6.99 here in the US but not bad! It lasted really well too. I’m excited to try it!
I might try it. I just bought their banana powder and it is decent powder. Still looking for a holy grail foundation.

I think it's good, but not hydrating, but rather matte and on the dry side. Very natural though, so I think it really depends how dry you are, if you are able to use it. "Geek Out of Water" here on RUclips reviewed it and it was far too dry for her skin.

Hi Gemma, can you please try No7 HydraLuminous AquaRelease Skin Perfector? I think it could be a dupe for the Chanel Water Fresh Skin Tint. Also, milk makeup skin tint has now come to the UK but it is £39 for 16ml and I just don't think it's worth it!
