My two Dell U2515H arrived today. I use them on a dual monitor arm mount and have to say that these are the very good looking monitors and 25" aren't as small as I was expecting. I have almost no backlight bleeding on both of them. 117DPI are great, as I am used to work on one 32" UHD monitor (137DPI) at work. I've seen people complaining about too small texts and desktop icons, but I personally prefer 110-130DPI over 90-110DPI, which most people prefer. So far very happy with my purchase. Also my power button works fine. Gruß aus Frankfurt
Does anyone know the size of the bezel? I am thinking about selling my 27 inch 1080P Lg monitor which i bought for €279. I am also planning to build my first gaming pc soon (first saving money for it) but do you guys think its worth to downgrade to 25 inch but gaming in 1440p?? now i am just play on Ps4 which i like but i also really want a gaming pc :D And Ps4 will look just good in 1080p on this screen? No big difference?
Im sorry but who cares if the buttons dont respond 1/10 times. You set up your monitor for 10 minutes and then never touch it again. Really don't think its a "big negative" thing.
+Danian D. a lot of people like me who leave my computer on 24/7 i turn off my monitor when i go to bed ( i dont want to wait like 5 mins for it to go into sleep mode )
Danian D. no they go into sleep mode ( use less power while everything is still on) you can tell cuz the monitor light would be blinking ( aka in sleep mode ) the problem is that you have to wait like 5 mins for your monitor to go into sleep mode
Danian D. yea ik but if u leave your pc on then the monitor would go into sleep mode. i dont like to turn my pc off so thats why i just turn the monitor off when i go to bed instead of waiting 5 mins for it to go into sleep mode.
hey guys, I'm feom SLovakia and here in my country the price is set for about 340 to 350 euros. Not including delivery. Prety good price I think. BTW, Sebastian, this was the first review of yours I saw here and checked out other ones as well and.... you have the new subscriber :) All the best man, your reviews are great! I mean really great!
So I just got it as well and I have to say it's a fantastic screen! It makes so much difference from my DELL U2412M, espetially the AG coating. Fantastic monitor for a Macbook :) Must have for the price!
Hi ! +TechCentury First, thank you for filming this video .Recently , I want to buy a external monitor for my macbook pro with retina 2015 early . And I am considering this monitor . And I use the screen for reading most of the time .(that is way I want to buy a external screen . Because the 13" retina screen is too small) . But I am worrying about one thing . The words will be very small on this screen ? or will it be blurry ? and when i want to charge my macbook pro then I need to connect the originally wire? or is it like apple's screen ? and your macbook is as same as mine? do you find any problem when you connect the screen with macbook pro together ? if this one is not very good for my needs. Then are there any screen is good for reading ? Thank you for spending time to read my question. I can't wait to get your reply . Thank you !
+TechCentury Did you connect from mini display(thunderbolt) port to mini display port or normal DisplayPort? I am confused on how I should connect my macbook to the dell (hdmi has a lower refresh rate if i am not wrong). And do you recommend a good speaker for this monitor as well. Thanks in advance!
+Zohair Habssaya (ZHFilms) as per apple support documentation, HDMI supports only FULL HD. you need a mini display port to display port to get QuadHD resolution (2560 x 1440).
I'm planing on getting this monitor for my 13" Retina Macbook Pro 2015, do you recommend it ? Any other monitors worth checking ? I really like the size and bezels of this one, also resolution seems nice. I've heard that some people have experienced blurry text with this Dell monitor on their Retina Macbooks... Any advice ? Thank you!
Is there much difference between the new P2717H and the older P2715H that you reviewed? I am using a MacBook Pro and need it for daily MS Office use (not gaming). Thanks!
I own this monitor for about a month and i LOVE it. In fact, i like it so much i'm going to try replacing my other 2 TN monitors with these. Highly recommend it. :D
+theodoro89 That's good to hear. I just ordered one, should be here tomorrow I hope. Went from a 23" Asus LED TN panel to a sorta VA-IPS I think it is, 40" LG TV. Decent color but input lag is kind of a drag. Better than most TV's though. I was thinking maybe 144hz would be cool but how many games can a person really run that fast unless they have an expensive rig? So I opted for 1440p, 60Hz and IPS. Can't wait.
Great review! Just wanted to ask you some questions) 1. Where do you recommend to buy this monitor in Germany? On Amazon.de it's 330 euros. 2. I have MacBook Pro 15" 2011 Early, but there is Thunderbolt port. I will get suitable cable from the box and be able connect my Mac with the monitor and start using, right?
Thank you for the review. Could you tell me please, if I could use this monitor with my macbook pro retina 13 late 2013? Can you see the pixels? Is it a problem with a sharp text?
Hello, I believe this monitor comes factory precalibrated? Does this mean one can skip the purchase of a separate screen calibrating device (like the SpyderPro4 for instance) or wouldn't that be wise over time?
Hi Sebastian, since you have been using this monitor for a while now, I just wanted to know whether you are facing any major issues with this, apart from those covered in this video?
Great review, almost convinced to buy this monitor to use with my 2015 MBP 13". In your review, are you feeding this display with a retina MBP 13" (or 15") through miniDisplayPort? If so, what is text size and resolution you use? Did you have to change settings or was it simply plug and play using defaults? Looking for advice on readibility (is text too small for comfortable reading). Cheers
Hello guys, i recently bought this monitor and all i have to say is that this is an absolutely fantastic monitor for the price! i had an HP 23xi (IPS too) but this Dell....simply amazing. Astonishing colors and 1440p, best of two worlds!
Hi! Do you have any flickering (black screen) problems? I just bought it and I have this problems. I have macbook pro early 2013 with gt650 graphic card and I have this random problem happening on random intervals. I am using cable that came with the monitor.
How do you feel about 1440p on relatively small panels such as this one? Doesn't stuff (text, icons, ...) get too small at times? Is 1440p better suited for 27"+, or is it fine on this one as well?
Great review! I was struggling to find any user/tech reviews about this monitor and I was getting desperate as I always research things to death before buying, so thanks. :) I appreciate the attention put to gaming as I am going to use this monitor as much for gaming as for other things- (I'm not a FPS multiplayer so IPS is fine) in my view it's the perfect balance for price, size and resolution so I bought one yesterday.
Does this dell line up perfectly with the iMac 21.5? I would like to have my iMac with a dual monitor on both sides of my iMac being the iMac in the center and connect it through Thunderbolt to HDMI. Will the speed be pretty quick? and Will my screens line up perfectly? And will I have more screen space on the dell? Considering the iMac screen does not cover the full display because of the Apple emblem.
Hey! Great review - thank you. I'm looking into getting the Dell UP2516D monitor for my graphic design work. I know it has the same resolution and screen size as this monitor (the U2515H), and I was wondering how you felt about the size of everything on screen, with it being a 25" inch screen, with a higher resolution? Do you find the items on screen too small to work with at all? Do you find yourself having to sit closer to the screen? Would appreciate the help. Thanks!
Hi, i would like to buy a monitor. since you have all the monitor sizes, can you suggest me what is the best size is it 23" or 25" or 27"? im not using for gaming, probably doing surfing and some graphic designing. which size will have a comfortable viewing. im kindda like this u2515h. but thinking of getting the i2369vm two panels.
I was thinking Brightness and Contrast %100 checked these and another surprise only %50 !!! what can I say Great Value for money!!! P.S I've also changed the responce time to Fast but dont know much about that function is that OK to use Fast or R U recommend me to go back to stock config? thanx
TM CHL Oh yes the monitor is already very bright, even at 50%. I personally did not change the response time to fast but I do not think it is bad to leave it at fast.
How does the screen compare to that of the 13 inch retina display? I sit around 24inches away from my macbook retina which is on a stand and am considering buying this but it has almost half the pixels per inch as the macbook would you say this is worth getting?
Does OS X allow you to scale the screen UI to be bigger/smaller while retaining the 1440p resolution, like this: i.imgur.com/1G9leS9.jpg Please answer! Thank you!
very good review. I'm also searching for an external monitor for my macbook pro retina 15". I was looking for 4K monitors with an IPS panel but the one I like (Dell pb2715q) is not available in AUT or amazon directly. Then I saw the u2715h and finally your review of the 2515h. My question is, what was your final decision to buy this monitor instead of a 4K one? Would you recommend a 4K monitor if it is 27 inch. I often hear that 4K only makes sense for 30"+. Thanks in advance.
Excellent review - one of the best I've seen in a long time! I'm considering the U2415 since it has the 1900 x 1200 resolution. Perfect for web and graphic design. This larger version looks great too.
Hi, does it lag with resolution 2560x1440? In my country, I saw in some forums, there are some people resale this model after buying 1,2 month because it lags when playing game. So they say they prefer U2414H to U2515H if it is used for gaming. I'm using Geforce GT 730, is it enough for: browsing, designing, video and play some low setting games like Counter strike sourse,...? Tks.
Compared to the MacBook Pro you have on your desk is the backlight bleed more severe or not as much? I find my 2015 15" Retina MBP to be acceptable, would I expect similar IPS bleed from the Dell?
Thats tough to answer because backlight bleeding can vary quite a bit within a product series. On my specific monitor it was not that bad though. BTW: If you enjoyed the content I would be thrilled if you subscribe to the channel.
Hey Seb, do you think this monitor will be good for me? I'm looking to buy a monitor to hook up to my early 2013 15" MacBook Pro. I need a monitor for 720p/1080p video watching ( RUclips, movies, TV shows ) and Email/ twitter. I'd like the option to be able to hook up my ps4 to it as well and game on it.... ( any game ) Any suggestions? 4k support would be nice but I'm guessing it'll cost a lot?
Andrew M Hi Andrew, I think the Dell U2515H or the Acer I also unboxed would be both great choices and the WQHD resolution is amazing when you connect it to your macbook. For gaming the monitor also is a good choice in my opinion.
Do you also face the "fuzzy"/"blurry" text issues with this monitor that are being discussed across many other forums? I intend to use this as an external display for my 13' rMBP. Good choice? Any regrets?
+Abishay Rao I'm not sure this is the issue you came across, but - in my case I've sometimes seen blurry text and found out Windows set zoom to 125% (as opposed to 100%) by default, probably due to this being 1440p monitor ... and some apps displayed poorly in it. After setting it to 100% all the texts are clear
JPNox : Appreciate you taking out the time to reply to my comment. I would be hooking this up to my MacBook Pro 13 inch, and I was concerned that some other people noticed that the fonts in web browsers appeared jagged/distorted as if it were running at some other resolution than 2560x1440. Anybody who uses this with a MacBook Pro 13 inch? Any comments will be highly helpful in making the decision to buy this monitor!
Hi! I'm from India and for some reason despite having debuted almost 3 years ago, the price of this unit hasn't gone down. Maybe that's because it's a really good unit, but the reality is it is still a viable option here. Or is it? Do you recommend this unit in August 2017 as well? It's updated variant (UP2516D, offering 100% sRGB colour gamut) costs almost twice. So that's not an option. So? Should I go with this one, or settle for a BenQ or Asus? Any input would be appreciated.
Hi, have you tried connecting speakers directly to the monitor via audio out? Can it play music controlled from a laptop connected to the monitor but not speakers?
Great review! I've got a macbook pro 2011 (non retina with the first thunderbolt outport). I can apparently output 2560x1600 max, will this let me output 2560x1440 nicely or will it affect the refresh rate? I'd like to know as I need a good (bigger) monitor to use for work (nice contrast of text and able to fit two pages easily on screen). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Can't decide between this and the Dell Ultrasharp U2415 (16:10)
Hello!!!have a nice Christmas holidays to all!!! now..I have a mac mini (late 14) and i am thinking to buy a monitor for casual use. I would like to ask if you consider Dell UltraSharp U2515H an appropriate solution or shall I go for a cheap 4k(Samsung U24E590D, AOC u2868Pqu,Philips 288P6LJEB)? Thanks in advance!!
hey sebastian, i bought this monitor and i'm really happy with it. thanks for your great review! :) i got one question: i connected my macbook 15" via display port. the monitor is set to 2560x1440. but the maximum resolution in youtube is still 720p, although the video should have a resolution of 1440p or more. do you have an idea what i should do/or set? thank you very much! greetings, prainzo
Have you tried FPS game from XB1 on this monitor? How was it? I also want to know about connect to MBP. I am using rMBP 2014. Is it possible to drive this monitor?
Hi, can you please recommend me a 21.5" 1080p external monitor? I am looking to get a matching resolution/size monitor that is on my 21.5" iMac. Thanks in advance!
I have a MacBook Pro 13" Late 2011, will this display work well with it? I want to also be able to plug my Xbox 360 too it (bearing in mind that I may upgrade it in the near future). Will the refresh rate be ok for my Xbox and will my MacBook Pro be able to power such a display? I absolutely love the thin display it reminds me of the VX2370Smh-LED by ViewSonic.
Great review....one question how exactly do you recommend hooking it up to a MacBook pro retina, what cables, etc? ...any problems with that? Dankeschön.
This screen rocks! I just got mine yesterday and I'm in love with it. I have no issues with the buttons (might be a problem for only some screens). Haven't noticed any Light bleeding during my graphical work or gaming or any other daily computer activities. I should have bought this screen way earlier, defenitely worth the money.
How would you compare the pixel density (PPI) / overall image quality with the *P2415Q* (4k display)? Currently on the fence between getting a U2515H or P2415Q. I like higher PPI which the P2415Q has (185ppi compared to 117ppi on the U25), but I also would love the 1440p resolution space. (My late 2013 13" rMBP can only drive a max HiDPI res of 1080p HiDPI @ 52Hz or a max 4k native at 30hz - 4k native seems way too small for displays < 40"). The only alternative would be to run 1080p HiDPI on the P2415Q and then eventually upgrade to the Iris 6100 model rMBPs for 1440 HiDPI. Thanks for the review! I have an Xbox 360, but rarely use it, so console gaming wouldn't be a factor for me. PS: I'm currently running 1680x1050 in HiDPI mode as my primary resolution on the 13.3" rMBP. I rarely go back to 1280x800 HiDPI for better reading of text (I usually just magnify webpages if needed on the 1050p HiDPI res, but most of the time 100% webpage scaling is fine on 1050p). There's also the 1440p *Asus VX24AH* ruclips.net/video/oXDuiAztJYk/видео.html if you don't need the adjustable stand and prefer physical clickable buttons. pcmonitors.info/asus/asus-vx24ah-23-8-inch-wqhd-model/
Hey TechCentury. Great review. As I'm considering buying this one for my Mac Mini, I've read online that some users experience issues waking up from sleep mode on macs (using the Displayport). Can you confirm that it sleep and wakes OK for yourself? Thanks.
I have the 2715h, but I feel like it's to big for my liking and i have to sit far away from all the light coming from the monitor. Do you think getting U2515H would be the best move?
Thank you very much for this review. Was planning on pulling the trigger on getting the U2414H until i discovered this one and i've been sold though availability seems to be an issue here in uk.
Can this run in "HiDPI Mode" on OSX to make the resolution run at 1920x1080 with retina-like crisp text? I have a 15" rMBP late 2013. I am debating between this vs. Dell P2415Q.
I just got this monitor, but i can't get the 2560x1440 resolution. I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro mid 2012 (non retina) with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB. Any idea?
hi Sebastian, some people have complained about ghosting with this monitor. ex: if you have a high contrast image like a ying-yang sign and leave it on your screen untouched for a few minutes and move the window, the image will be superimposed an the screen. Can you tell me if you have this problem?
I'm thinking about buying this monitor as a second display. I already have a 144 hz 1 ms monitor that i use for gaming, but it's only 1080p. I want a monitor with higher pixel density for using photshop ect, as my other monitor doesn't have the most accurate colors either. So I was just wondering if this monitor does a good job of delivering accurate enough colors? I understand it's not a high end monitor, but will it do the job?
Do you by any chance find the writing too small on this monitor? I'm getting the sense that the PPI is rather high, without making it something that can be scaled like a MacBook Pro Retina display is scaled.
First of all thank you very much for your videos, I really enjoy watching them. I have watched this video several times as I am planning to buy this Dell monitor next month to start my pc build. However when I was watching your "Ultimate Gaming & Editing Setup Tour Summer 2015" video you mentioned that you had to return the monitor due to some technical issues. Can you advise what kind of issues they were? I also wonder if I should go with the 27 inch version or 25 inch should be enough. I will use single monitor. The price difference here in the Netherlands is almost 250 euros for the extra 2 inch.
Can confirm the button issues! Presumably, on each model. When I got mine, had to replace it because on the next day two pixels died ( one completely and one half-corrected ). At this point, the horizontal bottom of the monitor was unusually hot. Noticed when cleaned. While cleaning, it gave cracking sounds, like it wasn't attached very well ( second monitor does the same ). Ok, returned one with dead pixels, because: 1) 1 day passed after the purchase; 2) Dell gives special panel warranty on Ultra-HD monitors ( check yours and the warranty ). The new unit isn't that hot, but the power button does the same as on the old one - doesn't work sometimes. Most cases, buttons have to be barely touched. EDIT: Yes, for now, monitor satisfies my needs.
How's the IPS glow effect? How's the backlight bleeding? Can you post a video about this (if you haven't already)? Any news on the new batches in terms of the power button? Has this issue been addressed with newer batches? Also, I've heard people complaining about Dell's customer service. Is it really that bad? What can you tell me about that? Also, thanks a lot for this informative video. :)
Hi, great review. I am considering buying this monitor and connecting my Macbook Pro 13" 2013. I noticed you have a macbook also. How do you connect it to the monitor / what cable/s do you use? Do you know if I can get the full 1440p and 60Hz out of the monitor using my macbook? Looking forward to your reply as there is a good deal on this monitor right now where I am. Thanks.
TechCentury Actually how could we identify the backlight bleeding in a monitor. Is it the glow of the screen seems like the bleeding?coz when we tilt the head in different angles then that area looks like the bleeding of backlight.
Thanks for this review. I have a question on which I can't find the answer. Is it possible to turn off the power button light? I have and older IPS display from LG and that is possible via OSD menu. I wonder if this is possible on this monitor also... Thanks for answer.
Does this U2515H come with speakers built-in? I just set up mine but do not have sound coming out. I remember reading that it does have built-in speakers.
Hello TechCentury, I read on some forums of the monitor not showing full RGB range because OSX recognizes it as a television. Can you confirm yours is not recognized as a TV? If so, is there a fix around? Thank you
Man, I have a problem, maybe you know solution. If I use this monitor with Mac mini, monitor's USB ports don't work. How to solve it? They work in Windows and don't work in MacOS.

the monitor is connected to the MacBook Pro Retina 13? what year of release this macbook? no brakes?
Don't miss my REVIEW of the Dell UP2516D, the better version of the U2515H!

why does it have to use the dp cable to hook up pc. my video card only has a dvi port

1/4 of an inch
1080p will look not great on this screen but if you get a gaming PC 1440p will look great
+Random. Rahter get high refresh rate monitor like 144hz , that makes the difference in gaming .
+Random. depends if your original monitor was ips or not

blake whitlow if it takes 5 minutes to turn off the monitor, more than just the monitor is broken
Danian D. no they go into sleep mode ( use less power while everything is still on) you can tell cuz the monitor light would be blinking ( aka in sleep mode ) the problem is that you have to wait like 5 mins for your monitor to go into sleep mode
Oh, mine just turn off when my pc turns off. weird

Vladimír Petija Thank you very much Vladimir! A shame that the monitor is more expensive in Slovakia. Thanks for the subscription.
So I just got it as well and I have to say it's a fantastic screen! It makes so much difference from my DELL U2412M, espetially the AG coating. Fantastic monitor for a Macbook :) Must have for the price!

Thank you for spending time to read my question. I can't wait to get your reply .
Thank you !
is u2515H and U2520D same?? U2520D have same specs!

Did you connect from mini display(thunderbolt) port to mini display port or normal DisplayPort? I am confused on how I should connect my macbook to the dell (hdmi has a lower refresh rate if i am not wrong).
And do you recommend a good speaker for this monitor as well.
Thanks in advance!
How does the U2515H fare against the UP2516D, both are the same price where I live. Is the UP2516D an upgrade?
Which type of cable are you using to connect the monitor to your mac ? HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA ?
Jim' D'Doy Im guessing DP since its generally the best
LUCΛS' GraphicsTM great question and good answer. Thanks for this.
LUCΛS' GraphicsTM hey Lukas - what about PC?
Do you use DP or HDMI with Macbook?
+Zohair Habssaya (ZHFilms) mini DisplayPort, i've got the same macbook and HDMI is on the other side.
Thanks for reply, so if i use miniDp from MAC to HDMI from monitor is working or not? i have intel HD3000 video card
+Zohair Habssaya (ZHFilms) as per apple support documentation, HDMI supports only FULL HD.
you need a mini display port to display port to get QuadHD resolution (2560 x 1440).
I have connected this monitor to my ProBook 430 using HDMI and have 2K res. w/o problems
I'm planing on getting this monitor for my 13" Retina Macbook Pro 2015, do you recommend it ? Any other monitors worth checking ? I own this monitor for about a month and i LOVE it. In fact, i like it so much i'm going to try replacing my other 2 TN monitors with these. Highly recommend it. :D
+theodoro89 Glad to hear that you are satisfied with it! Thanks for sharing your experience.
+theodoro89 does this monitor have an audio output? Or i have to connect it with a soundbar or some bluetooth speak?
***** Mediocre but usable. The controls are pretty snappy so i wouldn't complain about them :)
Can't wait.
theodoro89 $299 USD now at Newegg
Great review! Just wanted to ask you some questions)

Excellent review Seb, in the market for 1440p monitors so this definitely helped!
Thanks man, I appreciate it. An amazing value without a doubt.
DO IT! You wont be regretting it I promise.
Cheers
I'm thinking of purchasing the Dell U2715H "27" version" - For photography do you think the display will need calibrating?
For me personally the text size is perfect. Don't have any issues at all.
TechCentury Thanks :D Guess I'll give this one a try then.
Great review! I was struggling to find any user/tech reviews about this monitor and I was getting desperate as I always research things to death before buying, so thanks. :)
I appreciate the attention put to gaming as I am going to use this monitor as much for gaming as for other things- (I'm not a FPS multiplayer so IPS is fine) in my view it's the perfect balance for price, size and resolution so I bought one yesterday.
Tea Patovaara Thank you very much! Glad that you enjoyed my review. I think the monitor is a great choice.
Thanks!
Excellent review, very detailed and covers pretty much everything I'd care about!
nice review. Did you exchange the monitor for a new one? if so, how is that one performing?
Welcher ist deiner Meinung nach besser: Dell U2515H oder Asus vx24ah?
Hi, i would like to buy a monitor. since you have all the monitor sizes, can you suggest me what is the best size is it 23" or 25" or 27"? im not using for gaming, probably doing surfing and some graphic designing. which size will have a comfortable viewing. im kindda like this u2515h. but thinking of getting the i2369vm two panels.
Received mine the other day ,Worth every single penny and display quality a lot better than I've expected!
Highly Recommended monitor...
Glad to hear that you are enjoying the U2515h as much as I do.
I sit around 24inches away from my macbook retina which is on a stand and am considering buying this but it has almost half the pixels per inch as the macbook would you say this is worth getting?
definitely not as good as an apple retina, but what is
Brent Greeff OLED. Retina is terrible.
Chuck Spidell Thank you very much Chuck!
Hallo Sebastian, habe mit mac mini (Mitte 2010) und dem bei liegendem Kabel ( miniDP auf DP) Probleme mit HDCP an diesem Monitor, was kann das sein ?
Hi, does it lag with resolution 2560x1440? In my country, I saw in some forums, there are some people resale this model after buying 1,2 month because it lags when playing game. So they say they prefer U2414H to U2515H if it is used for gaming. I'm using Geforce GT 730, is it enough for: browsing, designing, video and play some low setting games like Counter strike sourse,...? Tks.
Omg you so dumbass
Thanks for the vid! very informative.
Quick question: Did you return your monitor for a new one? If so did the new one have the same problem??
Thanks!
Hello, in this video, did you connect your macbook pro to the monitor using a thunderbolt cable? Thanks
I'm buying this one for sure after seeing this very in depth explained review. Thank you for uploading.
Greetings from Holland :)
Sjoert de Boer Thank you very much! Hope you enjoy the monitor.
( any game )
Any suggestions? 4k support would be nice but I'm guessing it'll cost a lot?
I meant retina 15" MacBook Pro
Andrew M Hi Andrew, I think the Dell U2515H or the Acer I also unboxed would be both great choices and the WQHD resolution is amazing when you connect it to your macbook. For gaming the monitor also is a good choice in my opinion.
Are Acer products reliable? I think I read in the past that their products had poor build quality. Maybe that was only their computers?
Great review man,
Does the Mac recognize the USB ports on the monitor ?
Have you change RGB to CMYK option on the monitor ?
MegaTech Thank you very much! I did not try to use the USB ports but that should not be an issue at all.
I did not have to change RGB to CMYK either.
Hi, have you tried connecting speakers directly to the monitor via audio out? Can it play music controlled from a laptop connected to the monitor but not speakers?
Owned this monitor. Gotta love it! Pretty satisfied with the decision that I made. Thanks for the review!
Hello, do you use this monitor for gaming or for office?
+Lyrous I use it for work
Great review!
Thanks in advance!!
hey sebastian,
i bought this monitor and i'm really happy with it. thanks for your great review! :)
i got one question:
i connected my macbook 15" via display port. the monitor is set to 2560x1440.
but the maximum resolution in youtube is still 720p, although the video should have a resolution of 1440p or more.
do you have an idea what i should do/or set?
thank you very much!
greetings,
prainzo
Hi,
Which type of cable and which port in the monitor did you use for the connection with macbook?
Thank you for the excellent review!
Have you tried FPS game from XB1 on this monitor? How was it?
I also want to know about connect to MBP. I am using rMBP 2014.
Is it possible to drive this monitor?
I want to buy the U2515H, but there's going to be IPS glow. Should I buy it?
Hi, can you please recommend me a 21.5" 1080p external monitor? I am looking to get a matching resolution/size monitor that is on my 21.5" iMac. Thanks in advance!
Are there different models of this monitor because I was on forums and people were asking whether you got Rev 1 or not
I have a MacBook Pro 13" Late 2011, will this display work well with it? I want to also be able to plug my Xbox 360 too it (bearing in mind that I may upgrade it in the near future). Will the refresh rate be ok for my Xbox and will my MacBook Pro be able to power such a display? I absolutely love the thin display it reminds me of the VX2370Smh-LED by ViewSonic.
Good review, Gonna buy this model very soon .
Thanks! Hope you will enjoy it.
Glad to hear that you are happy with the monitor!
Do you know if 2 of these fit on the Dell MDS14A? Product describtions say it's made for 2 24inch screens, but some say it can handle 2 U2515H's too.
Eher selten FPS. Aber wie schon erwähnt ist es nun mein Zweitmonitor.
Hey TechCentury. Great review. As I'm considering buying this one for my Mac Mini, I've read online that some users experience issues waking up from sleep mode on macs (using the Displayport). Can you confirm that it sleep and wakes OK for yourself? Thanks.
Hi, i have MBP Retina, is possible change DPI on OSX? I think, that this resolution to hight and fonts are to small? What you think?
Thanks for recording this review!
Thank you for watching!
I have the 2715h, but I feel like it's to big for my liking and i have to sit far away from all the light coming from the monitor. Do you think getting U2515H would be the best move?
Adam Ramirez I think your best move is to turn down the brightness
what are the monitor you used to compare with dell ultrasharp u2515 h??????? what brand is it?
Any idea?
I can get the native resolution via HDMI with a Windows or just for DisplayPort?
Great review dude... Am thinking of getting this to complete a Hackintosh build and would like to know if the button is still an issue.
hi Sebastian, some people have complained about ghosting with this monitor. ex: if you have a high contrast image like a ying-yang sign and leave it on your screen untouched for a few minutes and move the window, the image will be superimposed an the screen.
Great review! Isn't the text a bit cramped considering the high resolution on a not-so-big monitor size?
Wie kommst du auf einen Startpreis von 275€? Dell listet diesen Monitor momentan mit mindestens 460€ auf der Website.
I have a question. Since it is a Dell would u still be able to use it as a computer, as well as using it as a monitor. Can u also monitor a Mac?
Hi, great review.
I am considering buying this monitor and connecting my Macbook Pro 13" 2013. I noticed you have a macbook also. How do you connect it to the monitor / what cable/s do you use? Do you know if I can get the full 1440p and 60Hz out of the monitor using my macbook?
Looking forward to your reply as there is a good deal on this monitor right now where I am.
Thanks.
Will be fine. The monitor comes with a Displayport to Mini-Displayport cable, so you can just plug it in and get the full 1440p 60Hz. Easy.
Thank you!
very nice review TechCentury.I have a query regarding backlight bleeding.Does it affect the overall display quality/clarity of the monitor??
Thank you! My U2515h had minimal backlight bleeding. Was not an issue at all.
TechCentury
Actually how could we identify the backlight bleeding in a monitor.
+Josephine Cheung it does not come with speakers you will have to purchase it separately
Hello TechCentury,
I read on some forums of the monitor not showing full RGB range because OSX recognizes it as a television. Can you confirm yours is not recognized as a TV? If so, is there a fix around? Thank you
zeiter2007 Hi, I did not have any issues with that. My Mac Pro and MacBook Pro recognised it as regular monitor without any issues.
and the text, is it as sharp as retina macbook pro from a normal viewing distance. I'm hesitating between this and a 4K monitor
hey, how are you doing? what did u think about the response time ? im planning to buy it for gaming on pc, thx
Dereck Gil Anything less than 15ms is absolutely fine for any use. There are not many screens on the market where response time would be a problem.
Is the backlight bleeding a big difference too other IPS monitors?
Is this worth upgrading from Asus VE247H?
Hi,
I have LG 24gm79 , 1080p 144hz TN
Is it really worth to trade with Dell U2518D 1440p 60hz IPS?
Thank you
Man, I have a problem, maybe you know solution. If I use this monitor with Mac mini, monitor's USB ports don't work. How to solve it? They work in Windows and don't work in MacOS.
Hey, welches Kabel verwendest du zum Anschliessen an dein Macbook? Thunderbol auf -> ???
Thx
+Mario André Störinger Hi, ich benutze das im Lieferumfang enthaltene Mini Displayport auf Displayport Kabel.
+TechCentury Und der Displayport Stecker passt in den Thunderbolt Anschluss vom Macbook Pro?
+Der Matze ja passt einwandfrei. volle Auflösung 60HZ
Nice video.. Should I have problem using this screen with a nVidia GTX460? Any help would be appreciated!
Great review. It is nice to see more screen size options in the 1440p monitor spectrum. It seems that prices are finally coming down on 1440p monitors
Thank you very much!
Yes it is great to see that. Hopefully 1440p replaces 1080p in the long run with 4K as premium option.
Hi,can I connect the acer switch alpha 12 to this monitor and still have 2160x1440 quality?
So confused, should I get the Dell U2715H (27") or this one. What do you recommend?
I would prefer the 25" for better sharpness
At the end, did you choose the 25 or 27" ?
