I love watching reactors. Sometimes you're spot on and sometimes you're so far off base it's hilarious! It's fun watching you and "rooting" for one of you. "Come on dude! You have to know this one! " Oooooo. Honest and true emotions. (My ovaries are exploding 😆)
Don’t apologize; your reaction shows that over the time you lived, you understand the sacrifices that your mom made and that you became what she hoped you would- a good man. Thank you, this reaction has helped me more today than you guys will know.
Had to burry my mom all on my own a bit more than a year ago. I've lived on the street, I've been addicted, got clean, and lost my home but that still was the hardest thing I've ever done.
NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR CRYING! It is ok to cry! And THIS is a great song! I sang it to my son too. He turned 23 on Christmas eve. And the first time I sang it to him was 23 yrs ago today. Dec. 26th. Thanks to him I am grandma. With number 2 coming in May. Your moma is very proud of you! And Smokey you take care of him.
I lost my mom in January of 2018, I feel you on this one Hollywood. She was my best friend, we survived a lot of struggles together. Certain songs and TV shows remind me of her, things like this hold more meaning than we realize at the time. You guys are one of the realest channels on RUclips, you guys should be proud of the community you've built here!
Sorry for your loss. I used to sing this to my boys when they were little. While I’m not a man I lost my dad in January of 2018 and he was my go to person to talk to about anything and he was my best friend who always said if you can’t change it then let it go. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Hey smokey I'm a fellow sped myself. I couldn't listen and learn, I was a visual and hands on learner. Schools couldn't understand that in the late 80s and early 90s. When speds are passionate about something they become the best they could ever be with that passion. I was obsessed with cars and accidents and now I'm one of the best collision techs in my state. (Top 20s) In my district I am top tech. So embrace your inner sped everyone!! We think in my our own way. And hollywood I feel you in this song. I just found out my mother's heart is failing faster that the family thought. This was her final Christmas. Spend every moment you can with mama 6ix please. You never know when that day she won't be there will come. No apology needed hollywood. We are all getting choked up with you after hearing the story behind the song. We are all proud of where you came from to where you are now. Hats off you and mama 6ix. She did a fantastic job raising you.
The true testament to a quality song is how much it affects your emotions. Never be ashamed of the memories that a good song brings up. It is proof your growth as a person.
It was always an emotional song, and it's not about being professional, it is about the music, and how it affects each of us. Simple Man is a brilliant ballad, and clearly had a positive impact on Hollywood. Thanks for the upload and great reaction.
No, this is the best reaction, Hollywood. I appreciate your vulnerability and was crying along with you. If we know anything about you, it’s that you love and respect your mom more than anyone. It’s no surprise that you wouldn’t wanna let her down in any way. I can relate to that with my parents. 🤗 Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Hope all the East-coasters are keeping warm. ✌🏻💛🎼
Hollywood, you were professional. Your fans & supporters wanted your reaction to this song, and you delivered; you gave them a reaction that was, above all else, honest. There's no shame in that game.
That's the best thing about music. Any song that brings out ANY emotion (Happiness, Sadness, Anger etc.) Is music worth listening to. Emotional releases are such a strong response to music that Literally hits your soul. No shame brother ❤️❤️❤️
Their name came from a teacher at their school who used to always bitch about their long hair. His name was Leonard Skinner. And it also came from the Camp Grenada song, where a lyric is Leonard Skinner
Never apologise for something so genuine man. That song definitely struck a chord and you felt it big time. Who cares about professional, you were speaking from the heart and you FELT it. Big respect for putting this out and showing this. There’s no shame in crying
Yes! Been askin for more Southern Rock forever. Lymyrd Skynyrd has a ton of great songs and you can't go wrong with the Allman Brothers- One way out - live at Fillmore East...Smokey loves the blues!!
Their name is from the PE teacher Leonard Skinner, who enforced the school's code of no long hair for boys. They changed the spelling of his name. The original band became friends after being on rival baseball teams in high school. They are from Florida.
Such a great song. Thanks for showing some emotion Hollywood. I'm a 6'2" 300 pound male, and I ain't ever afraid to cry in front of people. In fact, it's damn near impossible for me to stifle those tears when the floodgates open. I think this song is so huge because it provokes that kind of emotional response from all who listen to it. There have been times in my life where I've allowed things to get waaay too complicated, and I've had to simplify. The outcome is always positive. Much love to both of you, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. 🇨🇦
And no need to apologize brother. Music is supposed to move you. It is supposed to evoke memories. There’s nothing more professional than taking what you do seriously and sink as much emotion into it as you can. You have a huge community behind you. We all have your back no matter what. One of the best reactions I’ve seen to date.
"Don't you worry, you'll find yourself"... that's where I saw your tears start flowing. I get it Hollywood. Not many men may admit it, but so many of us have heard that from our mama's (i.e. Hollywood), so many wish they would have gotten that talk from their mamas (i.e. Me). At this stage, I sure wish I had heard that. Either way, after having been through an already emotion-filled life (men our age) and having time to reflect on the past, this song tugs at your heartstrings for sure. MAD RESPECT to Mama 6ix! ✌️ n ❤️
Hollywood, you’re all good my friend. Coming from a similar background of screwing up when I was young and disappointing my hard working mother, this song gets me too my man. Don’t be ashamed. Peace and love
I absolutely love ❤️ this song, it's what I dedicated to my only son. It hits way hard in the feels! If you guys could react to Shinedowns cover of this, it will Blow you away!! One if the best Covers ever, I promise you ❤️ Ps. Don't EVER apologize for having a heart and memories of Mama singing to you!! Hollywood your such a Wonderful Man, You did Mama Proud!! Shout out to your Mom for raising a caring Wonderful Man!! My Mama is my Everything too, no Dad since I was 5yrs old, it makes me cry too! Much love to You! Keep being Real!! ❤️🥰🎼❤️🔥
Morning guys! A very heart touching song! And a beautiful expression of love for your mama Hollywood❤️🤗. Don't apologize ok. Made me tear up too!( I been down a rough road of drugs in the past. I put my mama through hell but she never gave up on me and I'm grateful for the relationship we have today.)Thank you for the really real reaction friends❤️🤓
Hollywood, much respect to you, brother. I can't imagine how it must feel to lose mom. One of the best video reactions I've ever seen. I love you, brothers. 🤜🏻🤛🏻!
This song is an excellent reminder to anyone, that life should be kept simple in order to fully enjoy being a human. Glad to see it resonates with so many.
I'm crying too Sweetie but, I am thinking about My Son. He's MIA. Missing In Addiction. I can't do anything for him right now. Don't feel bad for crying. Real Men DO CRY. I Love You even more. Big Hug for You 6.
Best reaction video ever. Most genuine, most beautiful. I feel you! And it's really okay to cry. It's important and healthy. Don't worry, it tears me up as well. And propably very many people. I loved the song as a kid when I didn't understand the words, now I understand them and I still love it. Also, Smokey's right, Blues is supposed to make you sad. Another one that always gets me (although for very different reasons) is "When the Children Cry" by White Lion.
Good morning from New England... MAD RESPECT to HOLLYWOOD for letting his feelings shine thru... Most reactors are not capable or willing to show this kind of emotion...I CAN RELATE SO MUCH HOLLYWOOD...THIS IS THE BEST REACTION YOU GUYS EVER DID.. Peace from the Northeast...
This is such a great song, and showing emotions in response to it, especially with such strong memories attached to it, is a healthy reaction. You never have to apologize for that. I actually think it’s important for more men to see others openly showing emotions other than the variations of anger or apathy that somehow became the only socially acceptable things for men to show. It normalizes being allowed to feel and show the full range of human emotions. Tears are normal for all humans (except maybe psychopaths) and everyone should be allowed to show that. Repressing those emotions is not good for anyone. I am actually proud of you for posting this and not just scrapping it like you could have done. With that said, and on a somewhat lighter note: These guys were actually from Jacksonville, FL. Don’t let that one song title fool ya. Haha! The band’s name is supposedly a play on the name of a teacher they had who told them they would never amount to anything. Which is just an example of why you should never listen to those kinds of people (or be one….it might haunt you forever)!
The band was from Jacksonville Florida. Their name comes in part as a mocking tribute to P.E. teacher Leonard Skinner at Robert E. Lee High School, He was for enforcing the school's policy against boys having long hair.
You guys raised the bar with that reaction. That is as genuine as it gets. I’ve loved Lynyrd Skynyrd since I was a kid in the 1970’s, and their music has helped me through some hard times. Ronnie VanZant was an amazing storyteller. Check out their song The Ballad of Curtis Loew. It is loosely based on a true story. I think you guys will really like it.
i remember when shinedown's cover of this came out while i was in the navy in the early 2000s and hitting ports around the world and how awesome it was that alot of people in different countries all knew this song and how much it could bring together people from different countries
*Please react to Shinedown's cover of this song (official video version). Jasin Todd (guitarist for Shinedown at the time) is married to Melody Van Zant. Melody is the daughter of Ronnie Van Zant (singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd). Some like it better than the original, some don't. But everyone agrees it's amazing!*
Funny enough, Lynyrd Skynyrd were actually NOT from Alabama. They were from Florida. Sweet Home Alabama was written in response to a couple songs by Neil Young, called Southern Man and Alabama. These were songs that were painting the entire south very critically in regards to slavery and racism, and the band felt he was being too unfair with his portrayal of the south by chalking them up to just the land of slavery and racism.
My Dad plays this religiously too and plays it on guitar. I get it. One of his favorite songs. I can't hear it without thinking of him. Don't worry about crying, or being professional, this is the BEST reaction video. This is a reaction you did it.
Guys....this is a timeless piece by one of the greatest Southern Rock bands ever. Hollywood....never apologize bro, especially for being emotional...over momma. I've heard this 1000 times & it hits me every time. I ask God to always let this get me, that I never grow nu.b to the deep meaning in the lyrics. I lost mom in 2021 to this covid mess, & it hit me...I can't just pick up the phone & talk to her anymore. This song, & others, reminds me of the wisdom she & dad passed, & to not forget "there's someone up above ". Because of your sincerity, your authenticity...I'm subscribing. Have seen a lot of your reactions, appreciate your candor, sense of humor, intelligent approach to music. Just so you know, I don't gravitate towards "rap" (now I did listen to old skool, aka 80s lol)...but y'all are legit.
Oh my goodness Hollywood! You got me crying over in SC! That’s the power of music. It’s a feeling and that’s what good music can do Hollywood as you know being a musician yourself. You loving our momma so much and her loving you so much that’s what love is, unconditional love. Your momma would be crying her eyes knowing how much you love and talk about her on this channel and she has done a tremendous job doing both roles as a single parent. You are fine and don’t you ever apologize for showing your emotions.
💕 The more I see you, both of you, the prouder I become as a mama to the world. If I had sons I would be delighted if they were but a reflection of the men that you are. Long ago, during one of my empath crying spells, a woman from a Native American tribe from way up north approached me with a story that changed my life… not only was she mystical and stunningly gorgeous, I often wonder if she was even real in the present moment, we both lived in a very small town and this was the one and only time I ever saw her. Anyway she told me that in their native language there was only one word for laughing and crying, because they are both the same MEDICINE…. I never apologized for crying again, and I think it takes more strength to let it flow than to hold it back and to be proud of it and call it beautiful… which is exactly what you just did Hollywood, and Smokey you’re such an awesome friend you just sit there comfortably and let him have it and supported him and it was a beautiful moment of friendship to witness, thanks guys and have a great rest of your day!✌💚🌻😎✨
I can absolutely relate Hollywood. I’m going through depression/hard drugs addiction right now. I break into tears everyday for breaking my mom’s heart like that. No shame at all in crying, just the opposite. Much respect for recognizing your mistakes (it seems you’re good now), and showing to the world how much you love your mom. ✊🏽❤️
Never apologize for crying. Men cry. Crying cleans the soul brother. This song has always had a special meaning for me and it still brings tears my eyes. Merry Christmas you guys.
Aww I have cried my eyes out to songs before thnkng about my mom and dad and my childhood. It's a beautiful thing. And smokey you are such a good and gentle friend to him while he's feeling all of that. I would like to have you around during my down days and times, I feel like you would give the best hug and say the sweetest things! Great video guys
Holly, if heard this song ten thousond time drink at it smoked at, sing at it. But you my man makes me crying too man. Thanks for you're reactions and shout out from germany!
Absolutely NO SHAME for your emotions, Hollywood. The words to this song mean the world to a LOT of us. Through it all, Hollywood, you made it. Always remember that.
Now that's not fair. People like Smokey and me who have dyslexia struggle with spelling but have no problem communicating eloquently having a diverse and extensive vocabulary. We just have a irregularly formed neurological synapses somewhere in our brains that impedes certain aspects of the translation and/or transference of information to/from our brains. This post being a good example of what I'm attempting to express, in that, if this comment was posted by someone else upon reading it I would fully comprehend it in it's entirety. But in being the individual who is writing this I admit that were it not for the assisted spelling feature that our phones have these days, I'd have written something so confusing that nobody would understand what I was saying.
3 jobs! That's amazing. I was a huge fuck up too as an adolescent. And my Momma was put thru hell also. Dude you got me to tear up a bit and I'm the guy that only wants Meshuggah lol Thanks, Hollywood!
Hollywood there is no shame in crying. I cry every time I hear this song. Lynyrd Skynyrd has 3 songs that always hit me hard. "Simple Man" is one of them. The other 2 I highly suggest..."Tuesday's Gone" and one of their underrated ones"I Need You."
Man, never apologize for showing genuine emotions. I’m crazy close to and love my mom more than I can express in words and believe me, there’s no shame in crying over someone you truly love. Any real man should be able to acknowledge that.
I have two sons and I have sang this to both of them. Once a year I send it to both of them. Both of them are now married with kids of their own. I know they will have some very good memories of me doing this when I'm no longer here. Don't be ashamed for your tears. I was crying right along with you. Love your channel. Keep up the great work. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Much love 6ix you're rocking it RIGHT NOW. The past is the past. This was my dad's favorite band he died before I was born. So my Mom gave me a 2 disc album of Lynyrd Skynyrd loved all their songs except That Smell. That one hit home the worse because my dad died from drug overdose. I've done some fucked up things to my mom and around my mom where she was very disappointed in me but I had to grow up fast and take care of her and now we live in a house after 25 years or so renting in an apartments. In my eyes you're doing great now man. You and Smoke dawg are rockin it. 🤘
Never EVER apologize for crying...especially when it's for your mom! AND when it's a song that hits your heart and soul that hard! Sounds like you have a great mom - and I definitely think you have to show this reaction to her - and hug her tightly when doing so! When I think of my mom (RIP), and hear this song, I have a very hard time keeping a dry eye (actually a lot of songs do it to me when thinking of her - just ask me about Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd! Can't keep it together when that comes on). Great song, GREAT reaction guys.
Truth is Truth, Hollywood. No shame to be had in honest tears. Sounds like Mama Six did good, you learned the lesson before it was too late, and that's what matters. Merry Christmas, guys! ❤️🌲🌟😎👍
Forby Leonard Skinner (January 11, 1933 - September 20, 2010) was an American high school gym teacher, basketball coach, and businessman from Jacksonville, Florida. He is known in popular culture as the eponym of the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd; Skinner was the band members' teacher. He told them they would never amount to anything with their long hair. - Wikipedia. After Ronnie Van Zant died in the plane crash, his brothers formed Van Zant. They had some good songs - Help Somebody - Red, White and Blue - Nobody Gonna Tell Me What to do - Taking Up Space - Brickyard Road. You should check out these songs. Great music will always make you feel something. A reaction is a reaction and crying is just that.
This is the BEST reaction ever on your channel. When music can invoke emotion like that, there is nothing more special. I think the connection you feel to this song is common, but it is unique for each person. You felt it it in your own way, and it's beautiful. Thanks for all you do guys.
Respect to Hollywood! Ain't no shame in crying and no need to apologise! Most genuine reaction ever 🔥🔥
I love watching reactors. Sometimes you're spot on and sometimes you're so far off base it's hilarious! It's fun watching you and "rooting" for one of you. "Come on dude! You have to know this one! " Oooooo. Honest and true emotions. (My ovaries are exploding 😆)
🙏🙏🙏
Ain't no shame in that game you're all right in my book genuine person right there
he just became all of us without our mothers... we are all crying...
This is a beautiful song & very personal to him. Lynyrd Skynyrd was the best.
When a song invokes that kind of emotion and memory, it is a classic. No shame to you Hollywood. You have a great mother! ❤️
Don’t apologize; your reaction shows that over the time you lived, you understand the sacrifices that your mom made and that you became what she hoped you would- a good man.
Thank you, this reaction has helped me more today than you guys will know.
I lost my mother at 14 and this song ALWAYS hits hard.
God Bless all the Mamas out there ✌️❤️🇨🇦
Lost my mom around 6

Heart goes out to you guys 🙏
I have my mom and can still cry. Moms4tw
Had to burry my mom all on my own a bit more than a year ago. I've lived on the street, I've been addicted, got clean, and lost my home but that still was the hardest thing I've ever done.
If you gotta cry, I think crying over the love of your mom might be the most appropriate, real, and human response you can have.
I'm a 45 year old black woman and I cry to this song every time...
Shout out to you Hollywood a son's love for his mother is unconditional!!! 😥

Feel You. Gets me too. Still gets me.
Only child. 47 years old. Failed in life. Disappointed and caused worries for them all my life.
Breaks my heart.

Smokey, fucking hug the man, he needs it.

Never be sorry for expressing yourself or shedding tears. Good music touches your soul.
When music doesn't just touch your soul...it smacks you upside your head....your best reaction EVER!....kudos...much love, keep on keepin' on.
I am 61 and I listen to TLSB every day. and it always invokes some kind of emotional response. Thats what great songs do
Never say that loving your mom so much you are in tears is unprofessional. This may be the best reaction video I’ve ever seen.

These were songs that were painting the entire south very critically in regards to slavery and racism, and the band felt he was being too unfair with his portrayal of the south by chalking them up to just the land of slavery and racism.
Exactly, from Jacksonville FL.
They were from Florida. Ronnie's Grandmother lived in the Quad Cities (Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Florence Alabama).
Best friend moment:
"Sorry Smoke."
Smoke just smiles & laughs.
My Dad plays this religiously too and plays it on guitar. I get it. One of his favorite songs. I can't hear it without thinking of him. Don't worry about crying, or being professional, this is the BEST reaction video. This is a reaction you did it.
Trash Talkers MOMA has words to live by. ✌️
Ever time I cry
Hollywood, your reaction is genuine, don't apologize for crying. Everyone cries at one point in their lives...on a side note...love this song
You did man up! It takes a lot to show your true feelings to anyone. Great reaction!
Best reaction video ever. Music is the best when it hits home like this one does! Best wishes to you all in 2023.
This is a PERFECT SONG
No apology necessary, when music hits your soul just let it
Aww I have cried my eyes out to songs before thnkng about my mom and dad and my childhood.
Dude needs a hug, c'mon Smokey.
I respect a man who loves his mom this much, and who can cry and don't want to fit the seterotype.
3 jobs! That's amazing.
I was a huge fuck up too as an adolescent. And my Momma was put thru hell also.
Dude you got me to tear up a bit and I'm the guy that only wants Meshuggah lol
Thanks, Hollywood!
I was crying with you because I used to dance to this song with my little boy and those memories are so special to me even now 20 years later
They are from Jacksonville, Florida and Leonard Skinner was their hated gym coach at Lee High School and the band name came from that.
Good music is supposed to touch your soul and heart, no apologies needed.
The worst reaction video ever? No sir - this is the BEST reaction video ever. This is heartfelt.
Lynyrd Skynyrd "I Need You" it's as smooth as Alabama moonshine. 😎
Yesssss 🔥🔥
Much love 6ix you're rocking it RIGHT NOW. The past is the past. This was my dad's favorite band he died before I was born. So my Mom gave me a 2 disc album of Lynyrd Skynyrd loved all their songs except That Smell. That one hit home the worse because my dad died from drug overdose. I've done some fucked up things to my mom and around my mom where she was very disappointed in me but I had to grow up fast and take care of her and now we live in a house after 25 years or so renting in an apartments. In my eyes you're doing great now man. You and Smoke dawg are rockin it. 🤘
You say not professional, I say being real. Much respect to you my man. Never apologize for for being real and letting it all out. You the man.
These words touch me every time, even after hearing this damn song a thousand times. No shade for the tears, my man, only respect.
I feel you. My mom was also my dad and my friend. There is no shame to cry.
I cried with you, brother. It's a timelessly touching song. Gets me every time I sit and take it in.
Hollywood no need to apologize for feeling this song ,I’m my mommas only son and this song effects me the same way much respect to you and momma 6ix
I love this song. I love listening to Lynard Skynard.
God bless you, Crying makes you stronger inside. Never be ashamed of crying.
I loved this reaction . It’s ok to feel brother
Please don’t ever apologize for showing your feelings. The Trash Talkers want your genuine reactions. 💖😎
This song definitely pulls emotion out of you, that’s what makes it such a great song
Man are allowed to cry. Never forget it. This song always brings tears to my eyes, too. Great song and a great reaction.
Your mom is proud of you! Thanks for letting your feelings flow! Happy Holidays fellas.
You're a good soul Hollywood! You have a good heart!
You guys have authenticity! Not many reaction videos have that!
My mom died in August, so thank you guys i really needed this reaction.
Peace be with you and her.
One of the best songs ever
