No recall of Fisher Price Soothe and Glow Seahorse toddler toy, despite fire safety concerns

A CALL7 investigation by RTV6 sister station 7News has revealed serious safety concerns about one of the most popular children's toys on the market that is still being sold in stores despite consumer calls for a recall.

Wow we also have one of these, it's the 2 battery version though but I refuse to have this near my child now regardless.
If they don't recall these faulty ones I will boycott any Fisher Price products in the future as they are potentially putting children/families at risk, disgusted!

I’ve had mine for 14 years all of the kids in my family have used it and we have never had a problem with it when changing the batteries or anything

I have one of those. I remember my mom trying to pry the thing from my hands during the recall, luckily she failed and mine was the safe two battery model. It still works to this day without any issues the only signs that it isn’t brand new is from a few loose stitches on its fins.

I had one of those from 2007 and never had any troubles with it. I still have it but it just doesn’t work anymore :(

I’m 13 years old and I got mine when I was a baby, so it’s one I keep, I don’t use it anymore, I’ve never had this issue.
The batteries ran out years ago and they are corroded, but I don’t think I’ll ever try to put new batteries in after seeing this. I love my seahorse but this is dangerous.

OMFG seriously?! do these people realized how bad this is??!!?!? Greysen refuses to got o sleep without his............ mine takes the three batteries.......... so what the hell am I to do? it sounds like the batteries catch fire when you put them in so it is not like a in the middle of the night thing but OMFG............. so Natasha thank you for telling me about this but they are no recalled because these bastards rather make the money then keep our babies safe. you just wait until I get home I am calling them and cussing them out and demanding a new one with out having to waste my money sending them this one...........can you say anxiety attack right now? do you know how many times a night I turn this damn thing on for him!?!?!?!
