Thank you Stephen! Just a bit of luck, really! I had experience with manual focus on 35mm film photography many years ago, but this is a whole different ballgame, and I surprised myself with the results.
how did you get the red light to pop on the skin in the beginning ? i tried to shoot in areas lit with a certain colour but my phones camera still captures the natural skin colour .
It's been a while since I filmed it, but I'm 99% sure I just used a Nanlight Pavotube t8-7x for most of it, along with maybe a Smallrig 120b in the bathtub shots for the blue light.
Holy moly that's some incredibly sharp footage. I guess that's the Leicina at work... but also bang on focussing.

I was in total dark, apart from the entirely red light source (pavotube set to red)
@@Joe_Does_Stuff thank youu very much man
Super clean! What did you use for the lighting?

I guess this is 25fps?
I've only ever shot at 18fps on Super 8, because I had to check to make sure it worked fine in preparation for the Straight 8 Competition!
@@Joe_Does_Stuff E everything in that competition is 18fps silent then?
That multi-windows - it's plugin/overlay footage or something?
That's as Analog as it gets! It's a full-frame scan of Super 8 footage!
@@Joe_Does_Stuff Wow, REAL scan as it is
