Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning is my favorite Yugioh card ever. The artwork, the chaos concept behind it and the fact that was one of the strongest monsters when it was released. When I saw the card for the first time I immediately wanted it and finally managed to get one through trade during high school. Yeah it's been power creeped and reprinted to hell now but it still remains my favorite card and I still have my first copy of the card to this day.

@@heroeus8173 nope, no erratta on BLS. Just isn't as strong as most boss monsters these days. Doesn't take away from how crazy it was when it came out.

It's name doesn't really have any meaning. It's just what they named it in International releases and they love using the name "Luster" a lot like "Luster Dragon", "Luster Dragon 2". It's Japanese name is "Chaos Soldier" hence why it behaves exactly like other Chaos monsters'
Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning is probably my favorite card, just a beast in GOAT format and I put it in chaos decks today. It's not even a card I had growing up. I actually really liked the original BLS as a kid, because it was blue (favorite color) as a ritual and had actual decent attack.
Plus the added protection which can make it difficult to deal with when you're staring down 4500 ATK and can't get past it with targeting or destruction. Of course there's ways past it but still. The banish and ATK climb effects are the ones you'd use the most.
@Augusto Zoli plus the whole reason it was that powerful in the first place was because it was piss easy to wipe the entire board and hand with chaos emperor dragon and then float into yata. These days there's not really a 1 card option to wipe everything and there's like 50 layers of disruption, not to mention that the graveyard is functionally a second hand. Yata would flounder against a wall of hand traps and graveyard effects if it only destroyed the board, and any kind of janky setup you'd be doing to get a board, graveyard, AND hand wipe off would probably be incredibly easy to disrupt. A modern yata-lock would probably have about as much impact as other super inconsistent gimmic decks do. That being said, I think Yata is just on there these days because Konami has a nagging "what if" in the back of their head that they might have accidentally printed (or will accidentally print) something that would make it oppressive again.
Sacred Soldier was a maybe-sometimes tech card for Duel Links, in the Vampire Deck. Vampires do not rely on Normal Summon much (or use effects to give extra Normal Summons) and often banished Dark monsters, so Sacred Soldier was useful for recycling resources and also putting some points on the board.
I love the natural synergy of the BLS Super Soldier with Envoy of the Beginning. If you run 3 of each, it's very easy to get both on the field at once before you even normal summon because you can send the light/dark monsters you need for Envoy to the grave through the Super Soldier ritual. I know it's not a super competitive meta build or anything but it still has otk potential and is super fun to run.

Any Deck that can easily use a Level 7+ monster for Link Material should try to fit it. It's no joke and well worth summoning with protection. Even with 1 ATK boost, it can be nigh-unstoppable since it can't be run over easily since 4500 ATK trumps most other boss monsters and it can get stronger still and it will have pretty solid protection (Dark Dragoon level protection). Chaos Form, plus "Super Soldier" cards, seem to provide added support to BLS (mostly the ritual side), as an archetype, but not much. At least from looking up and reading the cards' text on the yugioh database. Come to think of it, I'm surprised most BLS monster cards have yet to be re-printed with a disclaimer text, which says, "This card is always treated as a 'Chaos' monster." Seeing as how 'Chaos' is in the card's name in the OCG (i. e. The card's name is "Chaos Soldier," rather than "BLS").
I remember my cousin went to the flea market it was my brothers birthday and said hey I forgot I bought you some yu gi oh cards I opened them and the last card in the pack was this guy and I was happy
For me it is great that nowadays one can have the opportunity to find Dragon Master Knight in competitive decks just because it is a great option to send to the GY via Dogmatika Punishment to guarantee you kill your opponent's monster.
It's a last resort option at best if you're in a situation where you're against something that you wouldn't normally be able to activate Punishment against. Dogmatika Punishment would be mediocre if it didn't have the interactions with Elder Entity N'tss or Titaniklad the Ash Dragon in most cases since they turn a +0 into a +1. Also, Five-Headed Link Dragon would probably be a better target since it would at least be summonable (generic Link-5 with 5000 ATK) though I personally never go into anything higher than a Link-3 (BLS - Soldier of Chaos or Knightmare Unicorn) in decks using the Dogmatika engine.

He kinda looks like the warrior of light from final fantasy. He might be based
So black luster soldier is Gaia the Fierce knight?
Buster Blader next. Would love to hear what you gotta say bout the Original Boogieman himself, Doug.
Exodia, Magician of Black Chaos or Dark Magician Girl next! Also the big 3 would be nice as well (Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes and DM).
It would be cool to see a video on jinzo
I really hope Konami gets to fix the flaws on the Ritual archetype. I wish it would be more playable.
So is the link retrain called Chaos Soldier Chaos soldier?
Yes.
Can bls soldier of chaos use his effect twice? Like if I attacked twice during my next turn. Can I banish twice? Or banish and get the 1500?
Everyone owned that BLS that had a monster crease through the middle of the card as a kid.
Maybe the next monster can be Time Wizard.
Since that card was basically Joey's Personality in Duelist Kingdom.
I remember my cousin went to the flea market it was my brothers birthday and said hey I forgot I bought you some yu gi oh cards I opened them and the last card in the pack was this guy and I was happy
Dragon Master Knight is best in Cyberdark decks, if you can dump it to give the fusions a massive attack boost.
Loving the series.
You don’t have the BLS to Summon THIS Monster! (Someone at some point).
I think the coolest thing about black luster soldier to me when I was a kid I realized his armor resembled the three god cards Lol
Bls is my favorite ritual monster
And bls envoy of the beggining is my favorite card of all
For me it is great that nowadays one can have the opportunity to find Dragon Master Knight in competitive decks just because it is a great option to send to the GY via Dogmatika Punishment to guarantee you kill your opponent's monster.
BLS and CED got to be the 2 most iconic boss monsters besides Exodia.
You know what's an iconic card? The Cyber Commander! It has 750 attack points and does nothing!
Just going to say, Soldier of Chaos really needs its reprint fast. That card is way too expensive.
And...no mention of the archetype's link to a certain other Warrior icon because...?
Black Lester soldier is going to be released as a vanilla pretty soon
Sacred soldier was used with slash dragon in duel links, when slash is destroyed with sacred soldier equipped, you can ss him
"Chaos" is an actual archetype in Yu-Gi-Oh.
yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Chaos
"Black Luster Soldier" is called "Chaos Soldier" in Japanese.
Archetype not a pack opening archive?
Would be cool to see Konami reprint the ritual version as Ultimate or Ghost rarity.
