Ha, I recently went into a local chain pawn shop(not mom or pop) when silver was down around 20$ spot. Didn’t see one piece of silver with the exception of jewelry out. I asked if they had any bars or rounds and got a snide reply of nope! I then said “you don’t have anything, no eagles, no hand pour nothing? She turned her back and began to walk away saying we have none. I found it hard to believe being there was no explanation like, some just bought all we had because silver is low now. Or, we have some in back but can’t put it out yet. Nothing, just nope, no silver and walked away with an attitude. So, I fully believe some places will hide it when prices drop !

I've bought silver for $15 per ounce, but I wish that I would have started back when spot was $5, which was nearly 30 years ago. But then, the guy that I knew who collected metals collected gold and $400 per ounce was way too much for me back then (1995). Boy, who knew that gold would quadruple in price????
I had a coworker buying gold at $400 back in the mid 90s. One ounce per payday, every payday. I'd love to talk to him now and see how it all panned out.
Honestly the way inflation is going and our government spending trillions like its nothing plus BRICS eroding the value of the dollar I think in the next ten to twenty years we will look back and think Man I wish I bought that silver at $25 and that gold at $2,000 that was a steal!
If the UK puts the sales tax to zero on silver like gold is, then the demand for silver might rise in the UK. The premiums are to high plus 20% sales tax.

It's annoying to me how many people (who aren't into metals) seem to think that if silver goes to x price then no one will buy it. It's like they suddenly forgot how markets work. The reason anything in the world reaches a certain price is precisely BECAUSE demand pushed it there, which means more people than ever are buying. In the past 10 years, virtually every asset, commodity, and resource on earth has gone up significantly in price (in some cases double, triple, or even multiples) and nobody ever says "if x item goes to x dollars, no one will buy it". Whether it's car prices, home prices, Apple stock prices, Tesla stock prices, Bitcoin, or even everyday resources like gas, food, lumber, etc. Literally EVERYTHING on earth has gone up significantly, except silver and gold (because they're so criminally manipulated). And yet when have you ever heard people use this faulty logic applied to homes, cars, stocks, cryptos, etc? I've never heard it once. Apple stock used to be under $50 a share, now it's close to $200, and not once did I hear anyone say "if it goes that high no one will buy". Tesla stock used to be, what, 1/10th of where it's currently at? Hell, Bitcoin was once $5 and is now close to $30k! Have you ever heard someone say at any point in the last decade "if Bitcoin ever reaches $1000, no one will buy"? No of course not. Because everyone subconsciously understands that whatever price a thing is, it's there because demand pushed it there, which means it IS being bought. Gold and silver are the ONLY freakin thing on this earth which cause them to forget this simple principle, and apply a completely different faulty "logic" as to why they think "no one will buy". Just shows you how great/deep the brainwashing campaign has been of causing Americans to absolutely detest precious metals. People literally abandon their common sense and logic to unfairly bash metals, when they don't apply that same logic to anything else that they buy or invest in.
To be completely fair, the silver (and gold) market IS different than most of those other assets' markets you described in that with silver, there is the spot price market, and then a separate physical market, and the two can weirdly be disconnected at crucial times. For example, since I started buying gold & silver in 2006, there have been at least three times when the spot price went very low, and physical was absolutely NOT available anywhere in the local markets at those low prices. The premium was huge all three times. So, to mention the possibility of a similar effect happening in reverse near a big top is not unreasonable. This effect doesn't happen with Apple stock price, Tesla stock price, Bitcoin, etc because.the market price IS THE price we buy & sell at. There is no significant premium above or below the quoted stock price.
@@Run4Ever77this is so very true. I too wanted to buy physical in mid April 2011 & March 2020 but could not find anyone, and I mean anyone who wanted to sell @ spot plus normal premium ($3-5 over). They were only interested in buying at current market prices. The silver-gold market is unique into itself.
@@Run4Ever77 Fair point, good comment. I considered what you said, and you're right. The premiums are a bit of a reflection of what the market thinks about physical metals. They're still undervalued though, I don't think even the market is taking everything into account.
If the industrial demand for silver reaches frenzy, it would seem to me as a Lehman that you could take your silver directly to them and they would pay you whatever you could negotiate. 🤔
Here in Albuquerque there are no more coin shops; there are only gold and silver guys and 2-3 coin shows a year. My brother (the superior collector) say no one is buying or selling collectable coins. I'm so broken hearted.

@@SlingshotMustang Agreed.
If the industrial demand for silver reaches frenzy, it would seem to me as a Lehman that you could take your silver directly to them and they would pay you whatever you could negotiate. 🤔
IN 1963 SILVER WAS FREE,YOU COULD BUY AMEXICAN 50 PESO GOLD COIN FOR $65,A KRUGERRAND FOR $50..I HAD 50 OF THEM,WISH I STILL HAD THEM
Here in Albuquerque there are no more coin shops; there are only gold and silver guys and 2-3 coin shows a year. My brother (the superior collector) say no one is buying or selling collectable coins. I'm so broken hearted.
I watched parts of that collection go through the Whatnot auction yesterday. It was an amazing collection INDEED!
Loved Harry's intro... 🙂
As always ...love these guys
Ya4ry you have one of the best shops I've ever seen
i dont quite agree that most dealers would keep the same spread, because they dont wanna take the risk of paying the higher prices, then silver falling ......
Thta new Intro is AWESOME..... Keep It!!!
A love when you visit HARRY'S shop.
