Those who are commenting that salary must be above 8-12 lpa . But This data is 100 % correct, Actually 2 years back my father was in spg and we lived there for 3-4 years in spg campus .
so there were 3-4 ranks,on that basis salary was divided. From 8 lpa(lower rank officers )to 30-40 lpa(higher rank officers)
And campus facilities were almost common for all.

Correction:
1) SPG doesn't protect high ranking individuals. The only mandate of SPG is to provide security to PM, ex-PMs and their families. No one else has SPG security.
2) They aren't transferred after 3 years. SPG is a deputation force and the deputation period is 3-5 years depending on rank.
3) They don't have a different salary. They get extra SPG allowance while serving in SPG. The rest of things are the same as their parent unit.
4) 8-11 lakhs isn't the salary. Salary depends on rank. An assistant commandant earns more than 10 lakhs in the start whereas a constable earns 7-8 lacs per annum in the starting time of the service.
