Easily the clearest How to Play of Endless Winter that I've seen. For those still struggling (as I was) following along with the transcript enabled is also super helpful. Thank you so much for making games with a steeper barrier to entry more accessible!
Thank you! While the rule book is pretty good, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with figuring this game out. This video was terrific. I now understand all the mechanics.
Great job on this video. I think this is the most excited I’ve been to receive a game. It hits all the notes for me. I do agree with the previous comment, a future video on some of the large expansions that are arriving with this Kickstarter would be amazing. I also agree that it’s a bit greedy, ha ha. Thanks again guys.
Hahah ok ok noted, thanks so much for the kind words! Ok we'll see, we haven't got the other expansions yet, soon hopefully. Thank you for dropping by!
set-up seems to have a lot of steps. Glad this video exists. The laundry list of components, lingo, bits, and icons seem like a lot to chew and fiddle with. Years ago this game wouldn't have been for me, but I appreciate this weight-class more now. Regardless, this kind of set-up and complexity can make some newer players heads spin. Glad I'm the one in charge of subjecting myself to this rulebook, not them. LOL
Hi matthlowder, thank you for the visit and your feedback. Lol, or maybe show them this video to help them how to play, and less explaning from you? Hope you enjoy the game :)
I agree that this game is complex, perhaps overly so, and not very intuitive. And listening to the excellent explanation causes my eyes to glaze over. A good step by step tut, but so so so many steps. Honestly, I'd need the game in front of me to learn this. After watching the video, I can barely describe what the game is about or how to play it. Nobody's fault, just me.
Suggestion: 13:07 should say "Choose any one face-up stone from your current *or previous* era." This is because you are not limited to Era II stones during the 2nd era.
Anyone else have a headache after watching this video? To be fair, this is the first time I’ll be playing this type of game. The presenters seem to do a good job of explaining the gameplay.
I had to find a way to ignore all updates for this game because I knew it was not going to come out for a long time. I think it was exactly a year ago when it became my most anticipated game. Now it's making noise again and I wonder if the fact you made a video on it means it's really close to release? I'm an impatient guy, so I prefer not to know too far in advance when a game is available.
Hi Jacob, 👌 I understand. It's coming out fulfilling very soon to backers! I am (Stella) is part of Guf Studios, which is part of localization partner for Fantasia Games, for Endless Winter, for retail later. We have a copy we use for how to play video, for our copies, as our boxes version will have link to this video. Hoping that peeps could potentially start to learn the game whether you back the game or through Guf Studios. Probably we'll have in in a few months time, but taking pre-orders for Australia
@@MeepleUniversity Well, a few months is a long time for me to wait, lol. Oh well, I do like being excited about a game. Before I saw your video I was learning about Paleo and I was suddenly struck with the feeling that these two games seem similar. I don't think they're identical or even have similar mechanisms, but they "felt" similar. Do you know Paleo? Did you notice this or is it just me?
@Jacob Lee Lol 😆 ooh for some reason Paleo kinda fell off our radar, I was interested about that one, but coz I haven't played, I can't tell you the difference, sorry. Maybe the theme coz it's about winter in the ice age ish? 😀
I only have 8 starting cards altogether. I'm clearly missing something. I have my 5 tribesman cards, a tribe card, a brave card, and a tribeswoman card. What am I missing?
Both deck builders with light worker placement, Endless Winter is more traditional direction. Arnak is more trying to reel off big combo on a trac - maybe :)
The award to draw a card for villages during eclipse seems to serve no purpose if preparation just draws cards to 5 anyways. Or are these draws in your hand on top of the "draw to 5" cards?
You never draw "to five cards", the round ends by drawing five cards and adding them to anything you retained from the previous round and any others you drew in the eclipse.
Hi Lily, both! Hehe. Well I (Stella) is part of the co-publisher of Endless Winter, so my opinion is bias lol. But having to play both, I think both are still feel different.
There seems to be a lot going on. I mean I love complicated games, but sheesh! There's some "Nations" and "Cataan" in there at least. Someone tell me it's easier than it looks. Otherwise great video again.
Best how to play video for Endless Winter, concise and clear, I don’t know how you do it,you clearly have talent in teaching board games. Thank you
Thank you so much 🥰

Aw so nice of you, thank you very much! Glad we help us play more games quicker. Have a great day
This was a tremendous 'How to Play' video! Resources like this make getting games to the table so much easier. Thank you so much.
Hi GratuitousCatouflage, thank you so much for your kind words, and taking your time to write. Have a great day and hope you enjoy the game!

Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad it helped 🙏😍
Great game, been looking forward for this. Now it's gonna be easy to get this to the table to play, thank you
Thank you so much! Yes yes get ready now to play later lol. Thanks for the visit
Meeple University is my go-to channel to learn a new board-game. You simply do it best... even better than Paul, which says something.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it means alot to us being compared to the wonderful teacher in board gaming... 🙇🙇
17:45 I think the rulebook only says you can't lpay "labor cards" not "culture cards" when you rest.
hopefully we might see another set of video's potentially covering the expansions for it( i know that i might be a bit greedy with this).
Bwahahaha Hi ginrai. Maybe maybe, we'll see. Haven't got the early expansion copy yet, we'll see!

Thanks for the video, especially the last part about those modules as it would improve the experience of our first play
Hi Earl, thanks so much for the visit and comment. Hope you enjoy it
Wow, this was a fantastic how to play video. Great camera work, logical development, excellent examples. Top shelf stuff. Thank you!

Very well explained and I love the titles effects
Thank you so much
Great video! Very well explained and I will definitely return after I get my copy of the game. Cheers!
Thank you for your kind words! Haha yes, get ready to play as soon as you get it :)

Great job. Definitely interested in this game now.
Hi Mike, thank you so much :) And thanks for the visit

Anyone else have a headache after watching this video? To be fair, this is the first time I’ll be playing this type of game. The presenters seem to do a good job of explaining the gameplay.
This game has medium to high complexity, so take your time!

how is this compared to Ruins of Arnak which I love
Both deck builders with light worker placement, Endless Winter is more traditional direction. Arnak is more trying to reel off big combo on a trac - maybe :)
The player board matches color cards starter deck or is random ...?!
I like this theme better, but still not sure to get this or Arnak?
Hi Lily, both! Hehe. Well I (Stella) is part of the co-publisher of Endless Winter, so my opinion is bias lol. But having to play both, I think both are still feel different.
may I not bury the card if I don't want to?
Always oprional 😊

Haha thank you so much for the visit Adrian
It’s easier than it looks for sure
