@RussDurrant It's not stupid at all. Think about it. What if I wanted to search google for something, but when Siri asked me what it was it tried to search in Wolfram Alpha, or something simpler within Siri and I doesn't google it. It would be pretty irritating. This way that doesn't happen. And it's substantially better then S-Voice.
@ 96Rioterfaz96 Don't try to make excuses, that is not what happened both phones programs were asked the same question @ the same time. Pause @ 1:35 see if siri did not pick up " goodbye" .
@MohammedNaufal0000 Android had voice command before iphone. For free, ony any android phone. Not like Siri. Siri's voice is also quite outdated. My nexus has British and American accents for free.
I can't speak for s-voice but the person in the video was carrying on a conversation with Siri and moving to a whole new topic. The test in unfair on Siri's part, I don't know about s-voice though.
you said that S-voice is slower but aren't these apps Network dependent? if S-III had the same connection as the one apple has, won't S-voice triumph? and still how did the iphone keep relating all other queries to search for cnn.com dot.call?
The iPhone 4S Siri software is undeniably faster, but when considering which phone to use, I think the HD screen and faster processor of the Samsung Galaxy S III along with the lower price (especially compared to the iPhone 5) makes this a no-brainer and a win for the Galaxy S III. I'm buying one as soon as I get my first paycheck. Wish me luck!
lol on the same boat... the other day I pulled out my 4S to factory restore and give away. Man it felt like a toy... so glad I finally made the change after 4 iPhones. Awesome phone and only had it for a week
did you get by ok in school just blurting out incorrect answers faster than anyone else could? The S3 performed better, you stated a fact, the iphone was faster because it defaulted to incorrect "i dont know"
lol.. what if I told you that iPhone has buit in voice commands much before SIRI on previous iPhone? And SIRI its not just a voice recognition but a assistant...
0:44 If you look on the screens it already says "CNN (dot) com cha-cha" on the iPhone while S-voice didnt understand. What happened is her accent threw both the phones off. Then when she repeated Siri picked up the S-voice speaking and got thrown off by that british accent.
It depends what your looking for. The galaxy s3 has slightly better specs, but the iPhone 4s is more unified, and therefor most stuff on it is more user friendly, not to mention that the apple appstore is of higher quality than androids, because all the apps are reviewed by apple before going on, so the crap apps and virus's are not allowed in, unlike the android marketplace. My advice would be to go with the iPhone 4s, but do some research on the internet for the 2 phones if your still not sure
@TilibopMedia Simple. The Galaxy has an intelligence factor the iPhone lacks. For instance: when you leave it alone for a while, and then pick it up, it tells you the notifications you got while you were away. Also it uses tons more gestures and proximity features that an iPhone could only dream of.
All the people saying Google Now is better than iPhone 4s, you're right. But now that Bing is powering Siri now, (on ios 7) I'm pretty sure Google Now is a bit backed up with Siri now. So stop comparing software and jumping to conclusions when videos are made 26636474839 years ago!
only reason it is so slow is because 3G. (I'm assuming since the ipod is on 3G so is the S3, but i can't be 100% sure.) If you have 4G or higher. the time delay is so small it's not noticeable. I have the S3 in my hand on 4GLte and it's not nearly this slow.
After watchin a couple of videos it jus seems like the speed is based connection the actual question/command. Which puts this in the air between assistants. Good video tho!
Not to mention the fact that you cannot get a 4G iphone currently, in any store. Until the iphone 5 is actively on the market and you can go into a store and buy one, please don't bring it up.
S-Voice uses Vlingo which was also uses on the Galaxy S2 and that was launched 6 months before the iPhone 4S, the difference is the ability to understand natural language which is a gimmick anyway. Android had allot of voice commands long before Siri arrived so there’s more of a case to say Apple copied Android.
@omar230177 No it doesn't. I've tried with my friends phone and Siri is so much better. This example is bad as Sirii was asking if she wants to open that website and since she didn't give a yes or no answer Siri didn't understand.
Uhmm not a good comparison video. because just to be fair. the voice feedback of the s3 was being detected by Siri because they are so near with each other. just like what happened to the CNN site search.
Samsung Galaxy SII won phone of the year on almost every major technology web site, why would anyone compare the SIII to the 4S when the previous version was already better in almost every way?
Hey! Don't diss the iPhone! I thought the point of the phone is that it *is* simple. Give it to your granny and she doesn't even need to use a manual if she had never seen a mobile in her life (okay, slight exaggeration). It also helps that the iTunes library has a huge collection.
A screen that small = bad. That's logic. I'll reckon Apple only has a few thousand more apps than Google Play, since GPlay already reached 600,000+ apps. I'm not a fan of S-Voice, but Google Voice Search (in Android 4.1, mind you) blows Siri out of the water, especially in speed.
well i m going to share with you my experience..i ve been using i phone for about 2 years now.i kinda got bored and s3 looked more appealing..i exchanged it with my dealer..so he gave me a pebble blue handset s3.the screen looked amazing.i couldnt you know get enouigh of s3..BUT after the first love sorta thing it turned into a nightmarish wife..first glitch...the call quality was yuk but i pretended i was used to iphone so i kinda knowingly ignored.
ok tell me three things that samsung and apple have in common? except for the basic phone functions. And if you talking about the voice commands, EVERYTHING has that these days.
Yeah, that's becasue by the time Samsung processed the voice, and started responding. iphone voice recognition is still struggling to understand what's happening. Samsung wins.
Okay. Since it seems like you know so much, you must really hate your iPhone that you own. Although it may be true that the battery is made from Sanyo and the camera SENSORS where made from Sony, you need to own an iPhone before you make a statement like that. And Apple did NOT copy the LG Prada. Although they may be similar, similarity is not copying. Samsung and Apple are just too very different companies. You just can't compare them.
I just realized something funny. People call Apple a "cult" or accuse Apple fans of "drinking the Kool Aid" etc. etc. and yet, the same people who hate on Apple are just as fanatical about their own device of choice, be it Android or Windows Phone, even back when Blackberrys were still competing. Same thing with PCs and video game consoles. YOU'RE STILL DRINKING THE KOOL AID. IT'S JUST A DIFFERENT FLAVOR. I am an iPhone user. I love it. I think iOS is a very powerful mobile platform, and I thin
That may be your experience but the s3 is fantastic for me. After using it for a week i tried my friends iphone for comparison and i was like "You actually like this thing?". The s3 works for me, you might have just had a faulty phone, there's always that chance.
Hey guys all the smartphones are good, some people like iPhones, others Samsungs but its just matters of what cellphone do you like and feel comfortable with.
actually if there wasn't a genius button on androids apple would have not gotten the idea to put siri on their iphones and s-voice therefore is a upgraded version of the genius button
@jose cervantes hahahaha basing it only on screen size. You shouldn't choose a phone because of it's screen being "bigger" or "smaller". You'll end up buying a phone you'll want to bring back as soon as you buy and test it out, if it already hasn't happened before.
I think siri got confused by the samsung responding quickly. it probably responded fast since thats a very simple command, siri is generally faster though. s3 is a better phone though.
I bet the next generation of each software will do battle. You will just say "Fight" and the siri and svoice will take turns asking each other questions and then insulting each other.
ok i say they are both equal. I yes say siri is better then s voice. and samsung took apple's idea. but business people will do what they want for money. the iPhone4s is connected to iTunes so you just download movies and songs and tvshows and music videos. Iphone4s has iCloud where you could take pictures and it can go right to your computer... samsung galaxy s3 yes has a bigger screen but can't get half the apps that the iPhone can get. so from my point of view i think the iphone4s is better
since I bought mac mini , I used it for more than 2 years, there are no PC ever I used more than 2 yers, so , I don't think you pay more for less on the realm of desktops or laptops, it's only matter if you are a pc gamer or not. but for me , gaming always goes with console. maybe that's why we have different perspectives.
1. No it dont, my friend dropped one from 1 meter and it didnt get a scratch, but my girlfriend lost her iphone at the same height and it broke. 2. you are wrong, the S3 is faster. 3. That is your opinion so It does not matter. 4. The price is almost the same, but you get more for the S3 than the iPhone. 5. there is a reason we have headset, and the sound on phones are always bad, anyway. 6. Maybe siri is faster, but noone uses it for getting info anyway. Ifo do we get on the internet.
Siri can't even understand what website he was talking about. She just continued asking the same question AGAIN and AGAIN. Plus, it's up to you which phone you want to buy, if you prefer SIri, I don't care so just don't care about what I think.
Wow, don't lie to yourselves. Siri understand and responds to commands considerably faster. Even with the easy question of what are you doing, it took S-voice a way longer time to even grasp the meaning of the question. I love both phones and I'm having a hard time deciding but we have to admit that i phone took this bull by the horns.
Hey! Does anybody have a *Samsung Galaxy sIII* ?
If so, do you know if the Google Hangouts App is available for it?
Thank you!
yeah of course
Thanks
Yes it do have..
Rakshith Naik Thank you
one thing i've noticed is, galaxy s3 can catch different accents really well while siri mostly thinks you said something else...
You mean the microphone icon? I don't see anything else matching. So Apple patented microphones as well? Their charm never stops!
@ 96Rioterfaz96
Don't try to make excuses, that is not what happened both phones programs were asked the same question @ the same time. Pause @ 1:35 see if siri did not pick up " goodbye" .
Can't wait for a varient of the s3 to come out.
how can you say a statement is false when the new iphone hasnt been announced yet. what are u comparing it to?
just so you know the latest version of the ios that siri was on was released came out like 2 months ago
Who exactly are you talking about? A good RUclips commenter would refer to the user's name, or leave a reply on their video.
Woman: “How’s the weather today?”
Siri: “It doesn’t look so nice today.”
S-Voice: “A few strong thunderstorms, today. The current temperature is 33°.”
@MohammedNaufal0000 Android had voice command before iphone. For free, ony any android phone. Not like Siri. Siri's voice is also quite outdated. My nexus has British and American accents for free.
yah but but also siri has been out for quite a while, and S-voice has been out for lets say a month?
I can't speak for s-voice but the person in the video was carrying on a conversation with Siri and moving to a whole new topic. The test in unfair on Siri's part, I don't know about s-voice though.
The iPhone 4 is two years out of date. we will have to see what the iPhone 5 brings sometime this year. :)
you said that S-voice is slower but aren't these apps Network dependent?
if S-III had the same connection as the one apple has, won't S-voice triumph?
and still how did the iphone keep relating all other queries to search for cnn.com dot.call?
@TheSonyErricsonArc Wozniak himself said Apple destroyed siri's potential by making it into a sales gimmick
@Terraminecrafterdude apple refined multitouch. they were the first to put it on a mobile phone, thats all. they didnt creat it.
Wish me luck!
you do know that samsung was the first to integrate multitouch into their phones right?
lol on the same boat... the other day I pulled out my 4S to factory restore and give away. Man it felt like a toy... so glad I finally made the change after 4 iPhones. Awesome phone and only had it for a week
did you get by ok in school just blurting out incorrect answers faster than anyone else could? The S3 performed better, you stated a fact, the iphone was faster because it defaulted to incorrect "i dont know"
The microphone was still on, prove your point?
lol.. what if I told you that iPhone has buit in voice commands much before SIRI on previous iPhone? And SIRI its not just a voice recognition but a assistant...
A BlackBerry? I'm surprised it still exists. Also, I'm surprised it qualifies as a smartphone.
Why do people hate on other phones? If you're happy with your phone, that's fine. Why be mad?
0:44 If you look on the screens it already says "CNN (dot) com cha-cha" on the iPhone while S-voice didnt understand. What happened is her accent threw both the phones off. Then when she repeated Siri picked up the S-voice speaking and got thrown off by that british accent.
The number of apps available is about the same now for Android and iOS.
It depends what your looking for. what? retina? is Super Amoled on Galaxy S3 with 720p resolution..the tehnology is called pentile so is not retina

can s voice give you reminders like how siri does?
S Voice is not always slower than Siri, it depends on the network condiion and what devces been using.
No, the moral of the story is that, Siri follows your conversation like a human, and Siri reminds what you've said previously.
the iPhone 5 will be dealing with the Galaxy Note 2 not this phone. iPhone 5 won't be here till October, stop saying it's the rival of the S3.
@THATFATNOOB and samsung ended up copying it either way... That says something
After watchin a couple of videos it jus seems like the speed is based connection the actual question/command. Which puts this in the air between assistants. Good video tho!

Do you really expect a multi million dollar peice of software is going to be remotly close to the generic voice recognition?
@omar230177 No it doesn't. I've tried with my friends phone and Siri is so much better. This example is bad as Sirii was asking if she wants to open that website and since she didn't give a yes or no answer Siri didn't understand.
If you look closely, Siri was still listening after the woman had finished because the Galaxy S started talking and Siri began listening to that too.
"my friend has a little accent" siri can search for some english lessons
They're both decent, I just think Siri is a bit ahead of the curb since shes has been around longer. But S3 might take it at some point.
actually samsung's s'voice came out in the galaxy s2 which was out before the 4s so how is samsung copying.
...yeah, but will it blend?
I have one question,i buy the samsung galaxy s3,or i wait for the next iphone
obs:the next iphone will launch 12 september.
Why is everyone saying Siri is better? It didn't understand the last 3 ones and was slow at the websearch
Because it was set to british. Iphone also has a british accent.
how would you know, the iphone 5 isnt out yet....
Can you choose accents on the s3 I watched another video and it's completely different :/ this one sounds...British
Uhmm not a good comparison video. because just to be fair. the voice feedback of the s3 was being detected by Siri because they are so near with each other. just like what happened to the CNN site search.
umm thats another person TheFrontyer was the on who started it not Mcmuffinman14
Ok, thats dumb, but thats not normal. Normally she asks something like: "Do you want me to search the web for that?"
Did you just make up that percentage?
Samsung Galaxy SII won phone of the year on almost every major technology web site, why would anyone compare the SIII to the 4S when the previous version was already better in almost every way?
You now the app called AIVC is faster than the Svoice in the GIII
I think it's possible. You have to say "Hi Galaxy" or something.
the person is suppose to say cancel and then it would respond to other things like goodbye.
But, can you put the phone up to you ear to have svoice automatically pop without having to unlock the phone? Yes? No?
Hey! Don't diss the iPhone! I thought the point of the phone is that it *is* simple. Give it to your granny and she doesn't even need to use a manual if she had never seen a mobile in her life (okay, slight exaggeration). It also helps that the iTunes library has a huge collection.

@DJx713 you don't need one, its got gorilla glass man, you can't scratch it. Believe me I've taken knives to it
THANK YOU! finally someone who sees the S3 for what it is. The S3 is better in SO many ways!
well i m going to share with you my experience..i ve been using i phone for about 2 years now.i kinda got bored and s3 looked more appealing..i exchanged it with my dealer..so he gave me a pebble blue handset s3.the screen looked amazing.i couldnt you know get enouigh of s3..BUT after the first love sorta thing it turned into a nightmarish wife..first glitch...the call quality was yuk but i pretended i was used to iphone so i kinda knowingly ignored.

33 degrees? and FARENHEIT?????? WTF BUG SGS3 VOICE at 0:21
Yeah, that's becasue by the time Samsung processed the voice, and started responding. iphone voice recognition is still struggling to understand what's happening. Samsung wins.
If you base your decision on which phone to get depending on which one can speak to the most... You deserve a flip phone
But what has it got that makes it better?
Those features alone make you do that? Seems dumb to me.
There is no comparison between the 4s and gs3. We have both in our household.
Samsung nailed it on this one.
Not exactly. iPhones are for people who just want a smartphone that will always work.
Because it gives you alot more information and it's more in depth, and S Voice speaks more
Replying to a 2 month old comment?
@jose cervantes hahahaha basing it only on screen size. You shouldn't choose a phone because of it's screen being "bigger" or "smaller". You'll end up buying a phone you'll want to bring back as soon as you buy and test it out, if it already hasn't happened before.

How is it better?, it was so much slower, i have the s3, its a great phone, but s-voice sucks in comparison to siri and google now
Girl: How's wetter tayday?
Siri: I don't understand engrish. Shouldn't you be out picking rice?
I bet the next generation of each software will do battle. You will just say "Fight" and the siri and svoice will take turns asking each other questions and then insulting each other.

with that attitude humanity will never progress with technology.
so you just saw the video and you say that let me guess you have an iPhone
Umm Samsung came out with it first. Voice command has always been out. It's Apple smugness that thinks it's the first to come out with anything.
s3 sound too robotic for me
Siri was sabotaged bc the Svoice was talking as siri was listening. and the S voice is slow.
Siri can't even understand what website he was talking about. She just continued asking the same question AGAIN and AGAIN. Plus, it's up to you which phone you want to buy, if you prefer SIri, I don't care so just don't care about what I think.
and the reason siri messed up with the CNN thing is because svoice was talking while siri was still listening
Do I need an internet connection in order to use Siri or S-Voice?
Well, that universal truth seemed so unrealistic when in fact SII defeated 4S for phone of the year. :)
I want to hear after "you are beautiful" something like "oh, stop it you"
