New Zealand: Lake Wanaka to West Coast

- Traveling New Zealand's South Island: Lake Wanaka is a popular recreation destination, the town is quaint but modern with several lodge style accommodations ranging from affordable to high end. Eating out can get expensive here, if you're a budget traveler like us, opt for buying your own groceries, you'll find fair prices at the main grocery store, New World.
The area is gorgeous, stunning snow-capped mountains and lake views can be enjoyed from most areas in the town. If you're up for a hike, Mt Iron offers a 360 degree view of the area. If you prefer a gentle walk, the walk track along the lake is lovely. For rest and relaxation, the narrow stretch of sandy beach along the lake is a wonderful place to unwind.
After spending a couple of days in Lake Wanaka, we head north-west on HWY 6, through Haast Pass, to the west coast and north into glacier country.

I love New Zealand, can't wait to go back. Every time I see a video of something I realize how close to something amazing I was while I was busy looking at something else that was also amazing.

New Zealand almost doesn't look real! It's so beautiful. I can't believe how clear the water is in the lake. Gorgeous. I could just sit there all day & take in the lake and waterfalls. Shame the prices are so outrageous on the makeup. Stay safe & love the videos.

Oh that glacier milk brought me back to my time in Switzerland, had never heard of it before. It's so beautiful. And what strange prices, low on the chips and ridiculously high on the mascara!
So cool you are in NZ and so weird to see you talking about our stuff! The mascara is dear as Wanaka is a small town and they charge a premium in those sort of places as it all has to get trucked in and there isn't a lot of competition.

Hey, I just found in my search to bump up my knowledge in the OCM I eat clean, and now for about 6 months have been using natural skincare essential oils etc very similar to you, I am from NewZealand a few hours out of Wanaka - wanaka is where we water ski and snow ski.

Girls from NZ think ur makeup is expensive ..do u know how much this mascara in Egypt cost it's from 95-80 Egyptian pound !!!
95 Egyptian pounds equates to about NZ$16.70, so it's still more expensive in NZ.
Their price on make-up really is kinda outrageous! But I do know they have a higher wage so that's why and probably other reasons too. :/ Just like Canada has their high tax rates and duty fees which are BLAH! That waterfall stream was beautiful! I definitely wouldn't mind be stranded there either! lol!

I can relate. I'm a beneficiary & have served time in jail, which pretty much rules me out for work or overseas travel. When I watch videos like this though, I get a greater appreciation of things here.. @ least it's nice not being in jail I suppose.😂🤔😉
