Your thumb nail brought back memories working for a demo company. I was loading rubble with a 345 cat never failed trucks would pull up and always be to far over. after the firs round I came down from my perch and spread some rubble to narrow there pass. the loader operator came and started cleaning up. I got on the radio an told him to leave it he asked why I told him hey are like sheep you have to heard them. The radio busted with laughter. After that i was known as the sheep hearder lol
Okay, mistakes can be made. I too, once dumped a load of gravel, not my first time spreading, but my first time by myself. Did not set the chains properly. A good operator, may not like it, but he can deal with it. I could not apologize enough. He said, " don't worry, that is why I'm here." Worked a year and a half, went full blown out over the road freight hauler, then flatbed, and thirty seven years later, I am sitting here, retired watching some great videos. Where was RUclips in the seventies? The best lesson ed learned, are from the mistakes we made. If you never made a mistake, you probably haven't done anything yet? Keep em' coming, love you guys.
i did the same thing stalled right on the hill and dumped the whole load at the base of a hill .... i had to shovel awhile to be able to back back out lol it happens
I have been driving Commercial trucks for over 30 years. Tri-axle dump for the last 20 or so. I have never had the occasion to tailgate a load. I know for a fact that I would look like a rookie. Keep up the great work and videos.
Yeah I'd hate to see my first few loads...lol... It's been about 15 years since I've spread any rock with a dump truck. I'll stick to the excavator and dozer!
That grader attachment for your skid steer does a great job but I think a motor grader like the one that Chris has would be a great addition to your fleet. It would probably save you a lot of time also. Another job well done. I’m looking forward to watching the projects you have planned next. Thanks for bringing us along.
One thing I have always wondered is what is the definition of "schmozed around"? 😮😅😊 As always a big thank you for bringing us along on your adventure Mike!!!!
I love that you guys always make time for community projects or things that help the town. Have the owners of the camp ground, too, contact the closest Boy Scout office. Look into having them hold a camporee at the grounds. They usually pull in hundreds, most of which are youth and primitive camping. Have a great weekend, and take care from Fort Wayne, God Bless!
I kept waiting for MBTS to call the owl he found Michael. I remember a couple of videos back when he named the dog Michael and I laughed my head off. Great job DP and MBTS! Can’t wait for your next video.
Turned out nice, nice job of crisping up the road edges. I think the name on that white truck said Holzman, that ole boy had it together on his spreads, nice job. Thanks for the update sir.
🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸 you guys mesh tighter & tighter , I LOVE watching how much more at ease Aaron has become doing grading. You guys make a REALLY GOOD TEAM!!!! Bravo !!!! Many blessings to u both & all of yours 🙏🏼🌹

For me this episode illustrates the day-to-day reality of the work you do - some jobs are just a real grind as the fates (and rookie drivers) conspire against you. Just got to keep the end result in mind and soldier on.
That grader attachment is the trick now and was a great investment for no more than it is needed and takes up a whole lot less storage space and easier to transport than a full sized machine-- great job guys as you two do great work 💯👍
One time I knew I wasn’t going to be on site when a rock truck came so I marked a big X in orange paint (as well as a marked the perimeter) and placed a sign on a stake in the middle that said “dump rock right here” with an arrow down. Guess what? They dumped it next to the area which blocked up the work site. So I feel your pain brother
To answer the question in the title, probably the same reason most subcontractors have that effect on me. (Don't give a "we'll be there at 8:30 on Thursday" if you mean "we'll be there some WEEK between 1:00 pm on Monday and maybe around 11:30 on Thursday, or maybe the sixth Tuesday in the month!")
Hello, I am a full time RVer. FYI on your trees you need to have 14-15’ of clearance for fifth wheel RV’s. Otherwise the roof one AC units can be damaged. Let me know if you need a camp host for the park. I would like to help if I can. Thank you enjoy all your videos. Tell Aaron HI🤠👍
Mike, that is the first time I have ever seen a grader attachement for a skid steer. Awesome, and must say you did a great job with it, as did you with the dozer. and Aaron did a great job with the roller. What the hell was the rock driver thinking when they just dumped what looked like the FULL load of rock, Right on the drainage pipe?? Dang nabbit, extra work that neither of you needed to do..One day two, at least the rock trucks got it in the correct spot, even though you had to grade it all a bit. Aaron did a great job on the video ot that grader attachment, I enjoyed seeing it. I find your videos very relaxing, when taking a break from all my genealogy research, gives my mind a break and lets me think of other options when researching...thanks again MIke & Aaron..
I always like how material spills out the sides and make a natural taper when dumped correctly. It would be nice if there was some way to make it wider. So I did some googling and saw a company that makes a wider spreader for up to 9' wide. It's an attachment that hangs off the back of the truck. A little more clunky, but it seems to work. Too bad a simpler thing could not be made. I was thinking wings that pop out of the tailgate. Some one could make a ton of money with this.
Nice job, by you two. Spreading rock is a art. Guy in my area. He could spread firwa, backward, thick or thin. He was the best ive witnessed. He got good to make tips to survive. At least all the trucks didn't dump you a pile! Lol
They can give you a bald patch at the start of the spread or a huge lump. Not as important when you don't have fabric down but makes a difference when you have fabric down. You guys fixed it up right, but that one load was bizarre. Maybe the owners nephew on his first day on the job. LOL
I truly love watching the videos. We have master DP and training dp Aaron. If it isn't perfect, we make it perfect. Great job, and the owner will have some campers before long. Nice nice looking place.
I'm surprised: No fabric under the gravel. It really works on stopping the gravel from migrating to the center of the earth! Talked my neighbor in putting it under his brand new, 1/4 mile long drive, 20 years ago, it's never been regraveled since then. Great video! Thanks Mike and Aaron! Lee
The lead trick got lost and the rest just followed the first truck . It was that drivers first day , so he didn't want to admit he was lost . Id watch for a fuel surcharge on that next invoice , just to be safe .
Dude be thankful they delivered the Rock/stone whatever you call it. It could be much much worse. Give thanks in all situations. Thanks for the video. God bless
That was some amazing rocking and a rolling.. another great job in the books... always cool to watch you run that equipment with such a high degree of skill and precision. Appreciate you sharing your day with us.😎🛠️🇺🇸🚜🛻😇
Wouldn't a Real grader be better for a job like this ? Not to much worse that a rock truck driver that dumps it in a pile instead of spreading like he should have, Mike and Aaron have once again overcome and laid down a great looking job
The pressure is on for the drivers. Ready to spread and on camera. 🤣😂 Between the first 2 spreading in from the asphalt you can see a wider tailgate opening and faster speed on one and narrower opening with slower speed on the other but end results show that both work well. The dual and super single combo on the drive axles is something I’ve never seen before. 🤔
Time to add a few heavy hauler rock trucks to the fleet? I anticipate a good learning curve on spreading gravel once my dump truck is completed.....I see piles..... Piles as far as the eyes can see 🤣. Fun video Mike and Aaron! 👍😁
Very nice looking despite the questionable spreading job...lol. But between you and Aaron's solid work you made a great save. Keep up the good work Mike.
The Day X on the Camping Place! Your building the Roads with the Gravel. Then can more Campingbus the Place use. Good Work from You and Aaron. The Camera Man make the Video very good 😉 thanks

I get what you mean about rock trucks, I did one job ordered 400 tonnes of crushed limestone type 2, arrived on site at 07.15 in the morning and had 20 lorries lined up waiting to tip. I did say when ordering space them out through the day as traffic is bad and site is opposite a police station. Then first lorry on site went down to its axles. Stress :)

Quarries here will not gate spread unless drivers are getting paid rate so if you order stone you get it in piles here unless you go get it yourself.
