The carved wood interiors of the entrance hall are beyond words. Beyond that, the whole place is magnificent.

Inside Peles Castle is truly a feast for the eyes. It's stunning.
The craftsmanship throughout is quite impressive,
A fascination story behind this magnificent palace.
    Thank you, Ken.

It still amazes -- and makes me thankful -- that buildings like this survived so many wars and times of destruction. Nice selection, Ken.

I visited Peles Castle just a few months ago during the Christmas season, arriving by train. it is just a half hour walk from the station up a winding trail into the beautiful forested mountains of Sinaia. Sadly, many formerly beautiful chateaus along the way are falling into ruin, but Peles itself is amazing. Sinaia is one of the most beautiful parts of Romania.

I know the inside is gorgeous, but for me it’s just the stunning outside of the castle that is my favorite. It looks like it could have been built a century earlier. Thanks for posting all of these beautiful homes, and castles, for us!

It’s fortunate that the castle was so well preserved. Too many beautiful “houses” are in ruins or torn down.

Fun fact: The theatre room has paintings made by Gustav Klimt, who was commisioned to paint them by king Carol I !

The Hall of Honor has the most incredible wood carvings. I can't even fathom the craftsmanship and hours that go into a creation of grandeur. This is a place I would love to visit.

It's all a bit over the top, but nothing creepy and very homey for such a grand house. I liked the Moorish room best. It's actually quite reserved in comparison to some of the other rooms. Charming, to say the least.

Fantastic! I've never seen any interior photos of this castle until now!
Outside the castle, it looks like several posts are angled into the ground to support a stone retaining wall. Is this something they are trying to fix? Weill they remove the posts one day or are they there to stay?

Let’s be honest: a beautiful building for a movieproduction. But at the same time an example of bad taste. A mixture of architectural styles through the centuries and different countries. That’s not architecture! That‘s romantic.

While the workmanship is marvelous, however, when looking at the whole picture the building a tasteless mish mash of Teutonic kitsch.
