      Is there actual data to show that companies are hiring more full-pipeline data scientists? I have a feeling you came to this conclusion a little prematurely. I have seen some actual studies showing there are less data scientist roles than data analyst roles. That being the case, telling people that are brand new to data fields essentially, "Sorry if you thought you could get a job as a data analyst, that's so 2016! now you have to be a full stack know-it-all data scientist... and good luck with that!" LOL it's just setting people up for failure. So please don't do that without either a caveat that this is a career path for those who have already risen through the other data careers or that this recommendation is based on just personal observations and not any verified studies or surveys of job statistics. It's just not fair to your viewers. Hope you respond instead of ignore. You spend a lot of time making these videos, including walking on a treadmill and some animation, but as someone who has shared your videos many times on LinkedIn, I'm very often disappointed to see my heroes don't even make a couple minutes to read and respond to comments.

    Hi Vu! Thank you for this video that makes me think more comprehensively about the data pipeline. Amongst many lay-offs in a startup company in SEA, the fundamental reason to make talent stay is this full-stack data science skill. One that can not only query, and make dashboards, but also make their hands dirty to scrape, create modeling, do NLP, and other jobs that solve particular problems every company embraces. A long road to go, getting overwhelmed sometimes, but as you said, do not lose sight of the purpose. Thank you once again for the video!

    Honestly at that point if a company primarily handles data as a product then you might as well open your own competing business. You’d already know how to build the entire thing from the ground up. Forget $124k a year… it should be comparable to the net revenue of the company wanting to hire you.

    I spent last 13+ years in marketing - mainly digital marketing and CRO (A/B testing etc.) Now I want to switch into more data driven area to use this experience. My plan is quite simple -> Excel (Done) -> Power BI -> SQL / BigQuery (Done/in progress) -> Python (done a little bit - until now I was building web crawlers and scripts to calculate campaign pacing). I have multiple Google Analytics certificates so I don't want to move to something super-new :)

    Good topic for discussion. Also I'd like to add that ml-engineer should know hadoop, docker, linux and c++ for python's extensions and prod (in CV this is essential requirement).

    • @hopelesssuprem1867
      @hopelesssuprem1867 Год назад

      @@hyperadapted for example, in computer vision a lot of libraries and extensions are written using c++. It is a widespread requirement for cv-engineers because python is too slow and almost all cool projects are made with a low-level languges (self-drive, voice assistants and another things)

    • @hopelesssuprem1867
      @hopelesssuprem1867 Год назад

      @@hyperadapted we're talking in the context of "fullstack". ML is not only how to learn a model, it's also and data processing and production. I mean that it's not enough to use fit/predict to be a good ml-engineer, it's also about how to implement models into products and here we have to know a lot of additional things.

In various cases companies just want a Power BI, Qclick dashboards connected to an ML model to visualize different indicators or metrics. Everything else said is pretty clear and spot on regarding real life application.

    Thu Vu ma'am one confession
    I had buy so many mooc courses and end up doing nothing and get confuse at the end.
    then I started reading ebooks pdfs which are totally free no money required (and some free articles , videos and sites). and they actually helpful.
    so i will suggest rather than wasting money in 2023 and doing nothing with courses , try to do with free of cost resources and save money to buy tools for study like tabs , laptops or some component for pc . its my opinion .
    some books i suggest for newcomers (they are available on github and pdfdrive site)
    1) Data engineering with python by packt publication( my fav)
    2)python data analytics
    3) postgre up and running
    4)python data science cookbook
    5)linux bible
    6) 'python cookbook' and 'python distilled' with 'automate the boring stuff with python"
    7) data science on AWS
    good luck
    merry christmas!
    and happy new year in advance!

    Hi @Thu,
    I have joined an organization as a data analyst but my role includes data engineering, data analytics and data science in the future.
    Does it make sense to change my designation to "Full stack data analyst"?

      That sounds cool 😅. I'm not sure, I guess the title doesn't really matter so much as long as you successfully show you can do stuff 🤔

      Hi @@Thuvu5 ,
      But would having a "Full Stack" in my designation help me for next job?
      You mention in your video that the next big designation will probably be Full Stack Data Scientist.

      No don’t be! There’s no need to learn everything right from the start. You can find your own happy spot wherever it is. I meant this to be a suggestion for a career if you were to broaden your skill set. Good luck and keep learning 🙌

    Beautiful video. But, I think to be full stack here is soooo difficult (it's more probable in web development)
