MADONNA FACES FURTHER CRITICISM OVER ADOPTION
Pop singer Madonna has come under further criticism, this time from Italian politicians, over her adoption of a Malawian baby.
Italian foreign minister Massimo D'Alema has called for clearer international rules on adoption, according to Italian newspaper reports on Wednesday.
Meanwhile photographers, reporters and camera crews gathered in the street as the 48-year-old singer left for home after a trip to the gym.
The media also gathered outside the brick Victorian townhouse near London's Hyde Park that Madonna, shares with film director husband Guy Ritchie, daughter Lourdes, and son Rocco.
On Tuesday Madonna defended her adoption of one-year-old David Banda, insisting she had acted according to the law.
The singer said in a statement that she hoped to make his adoption permanent following an l8-month evaluation period, required by Malawi authorities.
Madonna said that she and her husband had begun the adoption process "many months prior to our trip to Malawi," but had not disclosed their intentions as they regarded it as a private matter.
Last week, Malawi's High Court granted Madonna and Ritchie an interim adoption order giving them custody of the boy for 18 months.
Authorities said that during that time the couple would be evaluated by the courts of Malawi.
The order waived a Malawian law requiring would-be parents to live in the country for a year while social welfare officers investigate their ability to care for a child.
As David arrived in London, human rights and child protection groups were challenging the custody order in court in Malawi's capital, Lilongwe.
They said they wanted to ensure that child-protection regulations were not swept aside to benefit a singer who has been generous to Malawi.
Also on Wednesday, the biological father of Baby David criticised the human rights groups for the move.
Yohane Banda, speaking from his village Lipunga, 120 kilometres (80 miles) from the Malawian capital, said he wanted David to have a bright future and not to live in poverty.
Some children's advocates claim the high-profile adoption has brought welcome attention to the plight of millions of impoverished children in sub-Saharan Africa.

its so sad that people can not give Madonna some privacy and space. she gives the world great music . the least people can do is let her have a personal life off the stage. these poperazzi are just being heartless and selfish .

I think the same. They can't even let her breathe calm for a second. But I mean, those are the consequences of being a public figure 🤷🏻‍♂️

LOL! "She gives the world great music." Yeah, right. She also charges money for the music she "gives" and doesn't give a shit about the people who buy it. She's a greedy, self-centered entertainer, not a public servant. She loves the attention, so your pity is not needed.

Doesn’t matter. Every person is entitled to privacy.
