Hi Lazel, I need an advice to plan my future artifact setup: now I'm going to C28 and at C35 I'll switch from Inf+Mages to Cav+Mages. The target array will be the following one: - Excalibur 6 stars (~5 years necessary considering only monsters' swarm) - Brionac 5 stars + skill - Golden Armor 4 stars - Caledfwitch 4 stars + skill - Muramasa 4 stars. In the long term I'd love to replace Muramasa with Heavenly spear 5 stars + skill or with Mjolnir 4 stars, but in the very late game. At the moment of those golden artifacts I've: - Excalibur 2 stars + 50% of 3rd skill fragments - Brionac with 3 stars+skill + 20% of 4th star fragments - Golden Armor 1 star + 10% of 2nd star fragments - Caledfwitch just at 1st star - Muramasa has 2 stars + 70% of 3rd star fragments Now, I don't know if it's better to pump Caledfwitch from the conjure shop or to stick on the Brionac until when I'll reach 5 stars. I've calculated that apart from how much is hard to go up to 5 stars, the effort from 3rd to 5th is higher than getting Caledfwitch up to the 4th from the 1st one (684 fragments vs 518 in my case), so I'd have additional better stats in a shorter time and then I could come back on the Brionac after... Is this reasonable in your opinion or would you insist on the Brionac before going on Caledfwitch? The same discourse is valid for Golden Armor, but for that I'll have more time because I'll not switch to cav before C35... Thank you! :)
I prefer to go for Caledwflch over brionac just because of the fact that you can sit back on the Caledwflch from the 4th star on and still be excited for upcoming stars which have great stats, too. After 4th star you’ll probably be far enough on all artifacts that a sheet will show you when you can upgrade one of your artifacts to the next star and it’ll be up to you what to do then, but all in all I’d prefer Caledwflch, also because of the basic stat being more helpful for your frontline.
Hey Jeff, thank you for your nice comments all the time :) i'm happy to hear that we think pretty much alike when it comes to castle/technology building. What's your castle level, lord level and military ranking again?

Hi Lazel, I have been watching your videos and I see you speak with experience. I have a C32 castle, I'm an infantry player and mages. It's a good castle and I'm always in the top 10 - 20 in the Frenzy and Void wars. However, I am dissatisfied when I face archer castles. I see how easy it is for archers to break through my front lines faster than mages players. I know I have to improve technology, but technology now is getting harder and harder to improve. So I thought of a solution I call natural: cavalry and mages. Soon I will be C33 and then C34, when will come T11 horses with damage reduction against bows. I would like to know your opinion about this change I intend to make. Am I still an infantry player or change for horses?
Greetings, it depends on if you prefer to play solo or with the team, in my opinion cavalry is great if you're a solo player, but bringing cavalry to a stack with castles that have infantry and cavalry will put you in a bad spot. You can also look for artifacts like the athena's aegis or the feather dress to reduce the damage of archers if you want to keep infantry as frontline unit. I see your point and if you prefer to play solo i'd definitely go for cavalry when you unlock t11. If you enjoy playing with the team i'd look for artifacts that reduce the damage of archers or damage reduction for your army.
@@NewHorizons-Lazel Thank you very much for the reply, it was enlightening. One last question. I've seen someone say that over time, mage players become obsolete once players start using mage damage reduction. I faced in the last void of my realm, a castle with a 107% reduction. So the person said that it wouldn't do to have a 300% mage attack, because all the damage would be absorbed, making the mage attack ineffective. That happens?
Sorry for the doubts, but there is no one with your experience to teach me. And I realize that a new time has come in the game and that it will decide what kind of player I will be
A lot of players are working on their damage reduction from mages, correct. That’s why mage players are changing their focus towards their frontline and angels (at least that’s what i‘ll be doing). Alternatively you could play with archers, but archers usually have a worse event performance than mages due to their positioning in the battle formation what will end up in you getting worse event rewards from non fighting events. It ain’t like your mages aren’t dealing any damage anymore when your opponent has 100%+, but it is a lot less, yes. Don’t forget that many are changing to cavalry which on the odd tier has 25% reduced damage from archers, so if you go for archers and fight a cavalry player you’ll have a disadvantage no matter what. These are some thoughts of mine, hopefully they’ll help you out
Hi Lazel, as you may remember, at the moment I'm an infantry+mages player, I'm going to castle 25 in few days and I was considering to change my focus to cav+mages from castle 30 and the fact that is convincing me to that is first of all because of the artifacts and because of not wasting azurite in the mystic college later... For what regards the first point, now I have the following artifacts: 1) ganjiang moye lv. 20, 3 stars 2) excalibur lv. 20, 2 stars 3) brionac lv. 15, 2 stars 4) boots of speed lv. 20, 3 stars 5) aspis, lv. 20 2 stars when I need to attack a castle or during events I switch boots of speed for Muramasa (lv. 20 1 star) to have more mage attack. If I'd switch to cavalry, on Lubu's Halberd I'd have already the 2nd star as fragments and I'd loose only XP resetting Aspis/Ganjiang. The point is that in the future, I'd like to improve to the array to the following: 1) Excalibur (maxed out in the long term with monsters' swarm event) 2) Brionac, at least 3 stars lv.20 to get the passive skill 3) Caledfwitch (now I don't have it but I'd like to have up to 4th star) + get the passive skill 4) Muramasa maxed (will be replaced by boots of speed for mosters/ordinary routine) 5) Golden Armor (now I don't have it, but I'd like to have it up to 3rd or 4th star) Now, let's go to the point: concentrating on 2 of the actual artifacts (ganjiang moye and aspis) would lead me not to focus on the final plan and I'd waste tons of azurite from C30, artifacts xp and universal blue/purple fragments... Consider I'm not a heavy spender: if some fragments are missing for an artifacts there's no problem and I'd spend something for them (like I did for the last 30-40 fragments of Brionac to get the 2nd star, but I spend rarely and only when I find a good offer to complete a star, so I'll not buy the normal custom packs, but only the "Artifact-Exclusive Custom" packages that are much more cheaper as ratio fragments/euros than the normal custom packs), but it's far from my idea to buy completely an orange artifact with 4 stars, that would be crazy! Don't consider Levateinn, that is not an option for me: it's just too expensive! Having said that, my question is: can it be reasonable to swich from infantry to cavalry at castle 30 or would it be too early? Or alternatively: can I develop only the artifacts that I'll use when I'll switch to castle 35 if I'll move to cavalry at castle 35?
From c30 on the prioritization begins, as soon as you start to invest azurite, artifact experience or obsidian into troop specific upgrades. From what i read i would reset ganjiang and aspis and invest into muramasa or gusli. Your Final goal of an array looks reasonable, but i wouldn't focus lubu's halberd anymore. The odd tier of cavalry has a more defensive passive skill than the even, but you can switch at c30 already, it's good to gather experience with the new troops.
@@NewHorizons-Lazel thank you so much Lazel, your advices are always much appreciated! Probably I'll reset Ganjiang or Aspis at this point, I'll keep just one of them if I'll need to send infantry in a stacked attack with my alliance, but I'll always keep in my to develop the artifacts you've suggested to move from Infantry to Cavalry! To be honest artifacts is the object in the game that worries me more than everything else: it will be extremely hard to collect xp and fragments, so I'm spending most of my exchange store coins on gold coins, I'm killing a tons of monsters (I'm working on stamina a lot, both with equipments, researches and buying stamina from the merchant when it appears not for gems but for merchant coins) to get as many mid chest as possible (each one gives 5-6 gold coins)! ;) Also during event I'm always going for orange fragments, because otherwise it will be extremely hard to get those artifacts... Would you go before on Caledfiwch or on Golden Armor (I've never bought from conjure shop any fragments of those, now I have 9/40 of golden armor and 26/40 of Caledfwch)? I think between Muramasa and Gusli I'll go for Muramasa, I'm already at a good point in terms of exp and fragments and it gives more advantage on mages and cavalry (that "Mage damage" and "Cavalry HP" look really interesting)!
I go for Caledwflch, because i want the skill as soon as possible followed by the attack boost on the 4th star for my angels. If i would have to decide again with a lower castle level it would be the armor, but that often depends on the overall array composition. I like that you give me detailed informations, i can tell you’re doing a lot of things right in my opinion, keep up the great work!
@@NewHorizons-Lazel thank you so much for appreciating my effort, I appreciate a lot your contents and they're helping me a lot! I'll go for the armor then as first also because it's one of the "expensive" artifacts in terms of sacred soul stone and it seems to appear less often than Calefdwitch and Brionac in the conjures, so it will require more time and it's more "urgent"... Also in the mystic college I think I'll go directly to the dodge skill and I'll try to get as soon as possible the level 3 that seems to be quiet important from what I listen in general... I think now at C25 I'll slow down the rush a bit for some weeks, I've watched again some times your videos on the farms and I think that I've to work on those before going on, so I'm going to pump my 4 farms to C19 and get Legion III and before going to C26 in the main castle I'll upgrade my barracks to 25 (at least 2 of them) and do some other important upgrades (researches and training grounds)... Following your advices I'm also saving tons of recruiting speedup, so as soon as I'll have barrack 26 I'll retrain most of my mages from t7 to t9 and that's also why I've pushed hard with blue fragments to get the 3rd star of boots of speed! I'll keep you updated if my plan will work or not! ;)
Reduced damage from angels you can find in different places, for example as a skill for your beast or as a colossus skill. What do you mean by change from a special to a specific skill?
@@NewHorizons-Lazel I mean in equipment. I want to change the special stats recast to "reduce damage to angels" is it random or you could choose? If random, i guess il spend obsidian steel 😑
@@michaelmarcblando6389 you need to recast enhancements in the blacksmith and it is at random. I did rerolls in a livestream a few months ago, check the recording.
Hi Lazel, I still have a doubt that is really important because I'm planning a very long term artifact. In 2 weeks I'll go to C32 and right now I'm 30k azurite away from getting C34, so I'm planning already the future array when I'll have T11 cav/mage at this point. My actual array is the following: - Muramasa: really close to 4th star - Caledfwitch: already have 4 stars + skill and I don't expect to develop it further - Excalibur: 3rd star and will develop it only from monsters' swarm - Brionac: already have 3 stars + skill and for now I don't expect any further upgrade - Ganjian Moye: 3rd star + 2/3 of 4th star Now I've a terrible doubt between different alternatives: 1) Replacing Ganjiang with Golden Armor and develop it up to 5th star 2) Replacing Ganjiang with Lubu's just to get in a quick time damage reduction for cavalry (even if only 5,5%) 3) upgrading Ganjiang and set as target 5th star to get damage reduction for army 4) Replacing Ganjiang or Muramasa with Heavenly Spear and develop it up to 5th star: there would be many benefits (skill is extremely powerful as the cooldown is 8s only and the damage dealt is calculated on surviving troops + damage vs cavalry + attack boost + army damage that would boost my angels too in the future). I've set to myself a rule: if I'd go for 1 extra orange artifact up to the 5th star I'll not get any other orange artifact, because it's too expensive both from money, time and artifacts XP points of view. What would you suggest? In my opinion, there might be different solutions: 1) replacing Ganjiang with HS 5 stars, no frontline artifacts in this case. 2) Golden armor 5th star should replace Ganjiang but I wouldn't take HS 5 stars, so I'd keep Muramasa too 3) mix1: Lubu's could replace Ganjiang in fighting and HS could be developed up to 5 stars replacing Muramasa, in events I'd keep both Muramasa and HS without any defensive artifact 4) mix2: replacing Ganjiang with Golden Armor but with maximum 3-4 stars (=no damage related benefit apart from damage reduction from mages) and HS with 5 stars. Probably this combo would be awesome but terribly expensive in term of time as once achieved HS 5 stars I'll not buy any fragments for money and getting 3-4 stars requires a lot of time if done for free! 5) mix3: upgrading Ganjiang in the long term to 5th star (=dmg reduction for army by 7%) and getting HS to 5th star. This combo can be nice but Golden Armor has dmg reduction from mages too as base stat so I'm afraid it costs a lot of effort getting the fragments in events and conjures but to have a small benefit. In my opinion, HS is a must as it's really powerful for many stuff (skill, dmg vs cavs, attack boost and army damage), probably I would consider the mix 2 solution as best or the #1, but I'd like to hear your opinion on that too... Have you ever seen a castle without any HP/defense artifacts in the array? The pro of course would be to break any kind of enemy frontline in no time (I also run Brionac that is powerful aganist infantry too and even without refining it I'll be able to pump the base stat), but the lack of HP and defense on the cavalry may be a huge downside and makes me scary about this solution...
If you want to play cavalry + mages I’d go for Guardian Armor then, Heavenly Spear is great, but the skill isn’t as great as many think and it’s still a highly archer focused artifact. And yes, I’ve seen many players that play with a pure offensive array, they do quite okay, probably because they compensate the defensive with beast skills and enhancements.
Hi Lazel, I remember from one of your videos, that when you send a T.A. with your allies, the average of the technologies is calculated, so cavalry stats may be decreased because of your allies that most probably play infantry as frontline unit... Because of that, maybe golden armor may fix a bit this problem and wouldn't be a bad idea if you want to play both as solo player and with stacked attacks with your alliance... I'm just a newbie, so I might have said stupid things, but maybe not! ;)
I won't send cavalry to a stack, even if my technology is focusing cavalry, i won't expose my frontline to the flanks of a battle alone and take a lot of losses. If i join stacks, i'll send infantry. Golden Armor is another artifact that i have an eye on, i'll reconsider my array when i have the fourth star of Caledfwlch.
Hey Keegan, i think when you play solo a lot cavalry+mages can give your performance a nice boost. What you should have an eye on is if you can provide the necessary requirements for cavalry as frontline, do you have enough azurite to bring the mystic skill 'dodge' to a high level, how much 'damage reduced from mages' do you currently or can have in the near future. This change should be well planned!
Realy cool Video. Thanks! Maybe one plus for this Formation is the lord skill tree, you didnt talked about that. I think Overall this Formation is good on c35 or c40. Even troops are better on inf mages 👍
With unlimited budget I’d go for the phoenix and wait for the third skin to be released. Unlock Caledwflch, Poseidons trident, laevateinn and depending on if you would add it brionac.
Hey buddy. I'm going to go cav/mage and I only want orange artifacts. Right now I have Excalibur, brionac and I'm doing caledwich with three stars. What do you recommend for the other two ?
Hey mate, golden armor would be a must for you, aside from that holy robe or mjolnir depending on your playstyle. Laevateinn is always a good addition depending on your budget.
Aegis skill is incredibly potent. A friend runs cavalry, but when raiding uses red aegis skill, allowing him to empty c15-26s with barely any loss. He also uses 15k T1 cavalry to shield the T11 units while keeping the front strong. It also allows him to retreat without needing to use SOS- while barely taking any losses when an alt is trying to catch him.
Hi Lazel, why is cavalry frontline more for a solo player and not good in stack attacks? is it because tech gets averaged in stack attacks? if so, would cavalry players teaming up with other cavalry players with dodge be good?
Hello wang, that technology gets averaged is one reason for it, another is that the player who lands first provides the formation for the fight, if just one player brings infantry the cavalry will be placed on the flanks and that can leave your angels behind a small unit pool of infantry. If every player has cavalry beneficial technology and the correct army formation stacks with cavalry can work, but for that everybody has to be on point.
can we get atleast a spenders version of cav mages ? ide pay for that video lol and i have about 400 people in my line chat that would love to see it as well

I'll keep you updated if my plan will work or not! ;)
Never slow down on your main castle until the azurite mine is open! Rss won’t be your problem
Hi there! I would like to ask on how to change special stats to a specific stats of what you want like "reduce damage from angels? Thank you.. 😊
Ok Thank you very much mate Lazel! cheers! 🍻

Hi Lazel,
I still have a doubt that is really important because I'm planning a very long term artifact.
In 2 weeks I'll go to C32 and right now I'm 30k azurite away from getting C34, so I'm planning already the future array when I'll have T11 cav/mage at this point.
My actual array is the following:
- Muramasa: really close to 4th star
- Caledfwitch: already have 4 stars + skill and I don't expect to develop it further
- Excalibur: 3rd star and will develop it only from monsters' swarm
- Brionac: already have 3 stars + skill and for now I don't expect any further upgrade
- Ganjian Moye: 3rd star + 2/3 of 4th star
Now I've a terrible doubt between different alternatives:
1) Replacing Ganjiang with Golden Armor and develop it up to 5th star
2) Replacing Ganjiang with Lubu's just to get in a quick time damage reduction for cavalry (even if only 5,5%)
3) upgrading Ganjiang and set as target 5th star to get damage reduction for army
4) Replacing Ganjiang or Muramasa with Heavenly Spear and develop it up to 5th star: there would be many benefits (skill is extremely powerful as the cooldown is 8s only and the damage dealt is calculated on surviving troops + damage vs cavalry + attack boost + army damage that would boost my angels too in the future).
I've set to myself a rule: if I'd go for 1 extra orange artifact up to the 5th star I'll not get any other orange artifact, because it's too expensive both from money, time and artifacts XP points of view.
What would you suggest?
In my opinion, there might be different solutions:
1) replacing Ganjiang with HS 5 stars, no frontline artifacts in this case.
2) Golden armor 5th star should replace Ganjiang but I wouldn't take HS 5 stars, so I'd keep Muramasa too
3) mix1: Lubu's could replace Ganjiang in fighting and HS could be developed up to 5 stars replacing Muramasa, in events I'd keep both Muramasa and HS without any defensive artifact
4) mix2: replacing Ganjiang with Golden Armor but with maximum 3-4 stars (=no damage related benefit apart from damage reduction from mages) and HS with 5 stars.
INFANTERIA SIRVE PARA ALGO EN CASTILLOS ALTOS ??
Hi Lazel,
I remember from one of your videos, that when you send a T.A. with your allies, the average of the technologies is calculated, so cavalry stats may be decreased because of your allies that most probably play infantry as frontline unit...
@@NewHorizons-Lazel good luck with Caledfwich!
In what situation should an infantry/mage player consider switching to mage/cavalry?
Hey Keegan, i think when you play solo a lot cavalry+mages can give your performance a nice boost. What you should have an eye on is if you can provide the necessary requirements for cavalry as frontline, do you have enough azurite to bring the mystic skill 'dodge' to a high level, how much 'damage reduced from mages' do you currently or can have in the near future.
This change should be well planned!
I am switching when I get to T11s. I am c33 and almost there. Switching because of the dodge skill and my artifact setup is best for Cav/Mage.
Realy cool Video. Thanks! Maybe one plus for this Formation is the lord skill tree, you didnt talked about that. I think Overall this Formation is good on c35 or c40. Even troops are better on inf mages 👍
Hey Finn, thank you :) yes, i agree with you, the lord skill tree is also an advantage for playing cavalry+mages or infantry+archers.
Hey Lazel, I have a c32 castle you think is a good idea to change with t10 troops or i shoul wait to t11?
Thanks for your videos
I personally would prepare a good start with t11 at c34.
Which beast and beast skin would be besy choice for playing cav+mag? Also which artifact activate to red artifact? Unlimited budget. Thanks.
With unlimited budget I’d go for the phoenix and wait for the third skin to be released. Unlock Caledwflch, Poseidons trident, laevateinn and depending on if you would add it brionac.
@@NewHorizons-Lazel Thanks for reply. And which artifact skill best to activate? Lightning ball or holy strike?
I think lightning ball makes most sense
@@NewHorizons-Lazel Thank you for your answer. I will see about laevateinn 👍
Hey Lazel can you make a video about the Artifact skills ? ( Explained, best ones, etc.)
Awesome video btw :)
Hello Laragefury, that’s a good idea! Noted, stay tuned 🙂
