Changing implements isn’t terrible, but you can find “easily fixed” Wheel Horse tractors for $100-$200. Get it running and put an implement on each one and save yourself the hassle. I have a Work Horse with a rototiller. A 417H that I repowered with a newer Kohler I’m going to put a blade on. And I just got a cheap 416H that I got running and have been mowing with.
Yeah I actually have four tractors I'm going to be getting rid of three though because I don't mind changing around the implements as I have a really good routine and it's really fast. But yeah if you got the space and you don't mind keeping them around that's not too bad of an idea. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it
Awesome video. Encouraging. I'm going to look at 1277 Wheel Horse from 1967 tomorrow. Mice ate wiring apparently and fuel line rotten. It has snow thrower, rake, rotor tiller, chipper, mower...I just have to get it running. It's been idle for two years.
Ha ha. Yeah, being the youngest in my family, leverage is something that I've learned a lot about doing things mostly on my own... Yes though. A little extra guns helps! 😉
Hey Brother there's a easy way to install tiller.. use the pulley on tiller to draw it in after lining up .. it's a bear sometimes. That's how I do it . But nice video thanks.
Have you ever seen a small scale bailer? I was given the blue prints after my dad past. The blue prints came from England. I was amazed how small ,but uses the wheelhouse to pull it.
i have this tiller for my 1989 Model 312-8 -- similar set up but mine's a manual lift --- not sure if you ever tried it and it's counter intuitive - - but go after doing forward tiller rows then do them in reverse ( low gear) and tiller will make really nice fine amended soil - and better blending of material
When attaching the implements use your lift mechanism on hydro or lever to lift attachments and secure in clips then reattach to proper point for operation. Let me know how you did
@daved8947 Yep! If you line it all up right, you can just stand at the back of the tractor over the tiller and yank it up and then lock one side in and then the other. The right side though, you have to slip the lock lever under the idle pulley bracket on the tiller when moving the tiller into position.
Enjoyed your enthusiasm for the wheel horse, me too , but hey man , I learned the hard way not to run the tiller wide open the faster it spins the more likely something will break if you hit anything . Sweet seat !
Thanks. It doesnt really spin so fast to begin with. Lol It has a pretty big pully on it. I plow everything first so I get a good idea of whats in the ground. But thats still a great recommendation. Thanks for watching and the support!
Belts I go to the Vbelt guys online. And no I don't know where to get rhe tines from. I've seen guys weld them back up and sharpen them and I'm pretty sure you could temper the new welds as in a forging process of a blade.
Yep it's been like that for a long time. Although I am on our Tech now and I don't go rolling around with grass but I haven't seen to notice it in the past couple years. All our Tech can be bought at Costco warehouse club for a fraction of a cost of Allegra
Great video! Love the 520 it makes quick work of that garden! But those quick-pour spouts on the gas cans are very frustrating, I've had a couple break now and I got rid of all the new cans and found some old style vented cap ones at a garage sale that I now use
Yeah its a great machine! Has done so much for us here on the property. From Lawn, garden, hauling, dozing and snow plowing and snow throwing! Yes you have to be careful with the aftermarket plastic spouts and cans. They dont always seal well together and can cause a mess! Lol
Hi where can we get the bar for The Plough and the wheels for the the rotavator that goes underneath on the quick-release on the idler pulley arme please
So my question is if you had your garden plowed why didn't you just put the tiller on and till your garden in stead of dozen it just dose not make any sense to me.
Pretty cool content! I post mainly Wheel Horse videos and am always looking for more tips to a better production. What do you record and edit with, where do you get your little music tracks? Thanks! “Pullstart” from Redsquare
Thanks for the support. Glad you like the content and please like, share and sub if you're not already. Moving solely toward mechanics, outdoors and power sports on my channel with some DIY and powdercoating... Which I can do for others.
LOL- yeah the tiller can be a PIA. But you have to set it up like I did in the video and use a 2x4 or 2x6 to help prop it up while strapping her in for use! The key is making sure the Plow Pivet Bracket is offset to the left enough. Otherwise the case gets in the way. At least on the 520h and other Hydros... Keep me posted on the hook up! Thanks for watching the video, commenting and the support! Andrew C.
I got the Dozer Blade the moldboard plow obviously the tiller and the snow thrower as well as a 42-in side discharge deck and the commercial 60 in deck
it looks like you did the foot control hydro mod? Ive thought about doing that mod to my 520-H but i have been so busy with other things and some of the other WH in the collection, i always wanted to do that to my 520 because its my main mowing machine since i have the 60" deck under it.
Great video on hooking up the plow and tiller!! 1st i've seen for this model. I really appreciate you taking the time with the detail! I'm looking at a 520 H next week, has plow 48" mower, 700hrs. I'll be looking for a tiller. I have a 518H to mow. I'll subscribe to learn more. Thanks you.
Glad you found it helpful and that is awesome! You will not be disappointed because they are great machines. They can do a lot more than people give them credit for that's for sure.
Your video was great but I've got to say like I was taught to be better then my teacher was " if that god dam dozer was to be drug backwards it would be on the other end of your machine so boy you better learn fast how to push flat level forewords " I still back blade a little today just so I can here that mans voice ringing in my ears if he was still with us today I would tell him sir your good but let's work together again I'll show you some new ways of pushing dirt flat level 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol. Hey, the big movers do it and its works well gettimg it flat. Gotta do what ya gotta do. Ha ha. Thought about build a front frame and hydraulic piston mount like a plow on a truck. But I still have a lot of other needed tasks to get dont before I start "playing around". Thanks for watching!

Great video, just found a tiller attachment for my 520 …..you saved me hrs trying to figure out how this is set up .
Glad to help. All I ask is to share the video and channel on your social accounts at least one time

Niiiice! Looking forward to seeing. You should upload some video of it for sure!
Love seeing a 520!
Yeah its a great machine.
@@Fixin2Ride-Official- Will there be anymore upcoming videos on it?
@@sams4723 definitely! Jist have to make time.
You did a great job with explaining the hook-ups
Thank you! Glad you found it useful and thanks for the support! Its a great machine!!!
Those tillers are heavy heavy. I wondered how you managed wrestling it by yourself, then I got a good pic of your arms!
Ha ha. Yeah, being the youngest in my family, leverage is something that I've learned a lot about doing things mostly on my own... Yes though. A little extra guns helps! 😉
Not necessary to spread the furrows out. If you have a skirt on the back of the tiller, you'll get a beautiful seedbed ready to go
I was actually considering adding a skirt today.
Hey Brother there's a easy way to install tiller.. use the pulley on tiller to draw it in after lining up .. it's a bear sometimes. That's how I do it . But nice video thanks.
Okay thanks.

No I havent. Sounds very cool though.
@@Fixin2Ride-Official- I'll dig them out and get back to you maybe there Worth something to someone. Thanks for the hearted reply.
@@craigbasoco4886 okay sounds good. My pleasure. Thanks for the support on the channel.
Great Information. Would love to see how you mounted the foot control and weights.
When it warms up a bit I will try and get some video of the way the foot pedal is mounted 4motion

I would probably go back ovwr it in the opposite dorection but yeah I do like this tiller a lot. Does a fine job! Thanks for watching and the support!
Tilling in reverse - you are asking for trouble.
The trans?
there is a giant spring that comes with the tiller to help lift it. he didn't use it because he had a Hydro.
When attaching the implements use your lift mechanism on hydro or lever to lift attachments and secure in clips then reattach to proper point for operation. Let me know how you did
Oh yeah I do that typically.
I use a floor jack when I'm alone hooking stuff up
Good idea , I know what it's like mounting that tiller, it's a beast.
@daved8947 Yep! If you line it all up right, you can just stand at the back of the tractor over the tiller and yank it up and then lock one side in and then the other. Where did you get your belts from and do you know where to get replacement times for that
Belts I go to the Vbelt guys online. And no I don't know where to get rhe tines from. I've seen guys weld them back up and sharpen them and I'm pretty sure you could temper the new welds as in a forging process of a blade.
You get itchy because you have an allergy to grass. I have the same thing, if I lay in grass, especially fresh cut I get itchy and red.
Yep it's been like that for a long time. Although I am on our Tech now and I don't go rolling around with grass but I haven't seen to notice it in the past couple years. All our Tech can be bought at Costco warehouse club for a fraction of a cost of Allegra

Thanks. Tractor.is a blessing.
Thanks! This is very helpful!!!
Awesome! Glad it helped and thanks for watching!!!
How do you like the foot control for the hydro?
Oh man its SO much nicer to have both hands free and you can easily adjust the speed of travel with your foot.
Great video! Love the 520 it makes quick work of that garden! But those quick-pour spouts on the gas cans are very frustrating, I've had a couple break now and I got rid of all the new cans and found some old style vented cap ones at a garage sale that I now use

Thats a nice toro setup you have there. How is that garden doing now?
Thanks. It's doing well. Will be getting an updated video soon. Working my way through the files I have to edit and upload. ;o)
@@Fixin2Ride-Official- Very Instructive Andrew,m I;ve been trying to attach my darn tiller, See I;m missing some parts. Cheers
Thanks for the supprt. Yes that does happen. Ive made parts before if it just takes welding, drilling, nuts and bolts. Maybe a pulley or spring.
Hi where can we get the bar for The Plough and the wheels for the the rotavator that goes underneath on the quick-release on the idler pulley arme please
Contact A-Ztractor Parts. Ask for Lincoln and tell him Andrew Crocker from Michigan sent you...
Great video . A bit too shady for a garden ?
Yes we have since moved the garden to the middle of the lot and.cut some branches down amd it get a lot better sun.
So my question is if you had your garden plowed why didn't you just put the tiller on and till your garden in stead of dozen it just dose not make any sense to me.

The mower, snow blade, and blower all go on wheel horse easy. Tiller not so easy or I'm doing something wrong.

I highly suggest it. I took the plans and recorded the dimensioms of the parts and made a list so I could make my own.
