Huge tip for teleport from a GM Reaper. Bind a voice line that only you and your team can hear. Example "Ultimate Status"; when you're teleporting and use "Ultimate Status" voice line, it cancels his "REPOSITIONING HEY LOOK AT ME IM IN YOUR BACKLINE" voiceline into "Ultimate Status" allowing you to be more sneaky since the enemy team can't hear that voice line.
That... Uh... The single play that voiceline mechanic allows for makes a good number of other plays impossible. Letting the other team know that you "have" your ult charged could spook them into getting the fuck out of there. I know that medic in TF2 being able to say "I am fully charged" inspite of most certainly not having über allows for some amazing mind games.
@@redstonewarrior0152 As mentioned by op, only YOUR TEAM can hear that one. Not only that, it still cancels the teleporting voiceline, which means that your teleport is pretty much silent.
I mean every time I’ve teleported to a widow I’ve killed them and I usually try to teleport behind them or next to them or just anywhere the can’t see me but I can still get close to them
@@blue_balls5070 any widow worth their shit will either hear you or be aware enough to look for you. Teleporting directly onto DPS or supports only really works at low ranks

Yes, Reaper is good for flanking as well but don't ONLY flank sometimes helping your tank dominate their tank can bring more value. Plus, flanking can be more difficult to do as a solo new player as it takes a lot of co-ordination, or you will just feed the enemy.
Definitely, flanking had it's purpose but if you can't aim as a noobie, just try and focus the tank, unless it's a hog or something, they usually can't do much about you (mostly sigma players if they're caught alone)
if i knew someone is chasing me and there is no health pack or a support near me what i do is i risk it (since i am gonna die anyways) and then return back at his face to try to kill him if you're lucky he will not expect that and you can get the 2 shots to kill him from 0/100 situation to a 50/50
If you melee mid reload as Reaper it’ll cut off the animation while still reloading since the reload technically happens when the guns leave his hands and not when he pulls out the new ones. Not to mention, it does that little bit of extra damage on close enemies. I’ve killed several accidentally while melee reloading
Technically it’s better because of the melee but it doesn’t actually allow you to shoot faster after reloading the time from start reloading to shooting is the exact same
The way I see it with melee reloads is you replace the animation with the melee animation. It all takes the same amount of time basically (with a few exceptions) but the fact that you can include a bit of damage when reloading is why I use melee reloads
Another thing is that if you know you're dead no matter what and you have no ammo left, you can quickly activate and deactivate wraith form to instantly reload, giving you the potential to get a kill or two before going out yourself
I appreciate you and I don’t wanna push you guys to like on every vid :) it may be annoying to some so I do like 50/50 as it definitely helps the vids when I have it in there!
My favorite thing to do was to wraith towards the enemies squishies and make them think I was going to ult them, and then I’d just regularly shoot or back off It game my team space to push because the tanks would fall back to try and stop me and it would distract the healers and dps from anyone who was still trying to hold the frontline And once they got used to that and they started to ignore me I’d ult lol
You can to be careful that you aren’t feeding tho. If you’re always playing mind games you may actually be wasting your own time and not bringing as much value
@@RauKnowsOW I always worried about that and had a personal rule of no more then 3 times or when I see an opportunity to turn the tides. I’d always try to catch myself and stop doing it when I noticed my damage output was dropping and messing up my team. On the feeding point you made, yes that sometimes happened when I didn’t pay attention to my surroundings and got caught, but otherwise I teleported aggressively and used the first 1.5 seconds of the fade to close distance before backing off if I notice no opening or benefits. As a reaper main I can also add that if you're 1on1 with someone and you're shotguns are out, use the wraith for as short as you can and it will reload them without you wasting time on reloading. But keep in mind that the wraith form will be on cooldown so use this rather on 1on1 since you have almost guaranteed to kill someone with 16 shots and you will not have to run away from the fight

I'd add ana to the list of targets to not teleport on. you wont get headshotted but will almost for sure be slept. obviously if you see that its on cooldown then go for it
Also! If your supports keep getting picked early in team fights (by a ball or sombra esp.) don’t be afraid to play near them to help protect them and keep enemies from wanting to dive on them
This is actually the duty of your other support! They should defend eachother because if you aren’t doing your job right and creating pressure you’ll be inherently keeping them from getting pushed because you’re on their team
Also do not teleport behind the enemy unless your team is ready to push, the teleport causes a lot of sound which the enemy team can hear and go towards, so only tp behind the enemy if your fine with dying so you team can engage in a team fight and try to secure the objective
Preparing your ult isn’t completely necessary. As long as there isn’t someone there that can easily cancel it, it’s pretty safe to pop whenever. Also teleporting behind the team or hell sometimes even in front of them and then getting a support pick is a really good strategy. Jumping and then teleporting out of a fight is also a very good option if wraith is on cooldown. Also getting into the habit of melee reloading. Few tips from a GM Reaper.
A big tip for teleport is you can actually hit crouch mid teleport so when you arrive at a new location you will crouch and so the enemy misses a headshot or doesn’t expect it
I feel dumb not thinking to use high ground offensively lile that. I guess other games have fall damage cooked into my brain even through Overwatch never had it 😂
I bullied a Widow on Kings Row by teleporting onto the top spawn door and killing her as she came out, its also good to hide up there and drop down to get some good surprise damage on fresh spawns
Since he had ability to fast Teleport and can teleport while mid-air, sometimes I changes my approach by Dive in with wraith and Exiting with Teleport, like in li Jian for example sometimes I do happen just to falling intentionally just to TP mid-air to reach places that far or can't even be followed by Ground heroes.
Some interesting reaper tech: When u reload instantly melee as it’s faster and still makes u reload When u tp use the ult status voice line to cancel the loud ass reaper to voiceline
He says don’t commit to engagements outside your range which is true, but you can still pop shots at targets with bigger hit boxes from a distance for free ult charge and even just to pressure them or bait out an ability. Also always try baiting our abilities that shut your blossom down.

Masters Reaper here: These tips are the first actual good ones I've heard in over a year. They still hold up nowadays. Also a tip, sometimes I like to coordinate with my team for me to do a fake ult engage with my wraith to bait out all cc cooldowns and possibly an ult or two. Just wraith in very obviously and pretend like you are going to ult. However, make sure you have a way to get out like a lifegrip otherwise you will just die
I understand not teleporting into a widow and sojourn, but when I say never I mean i have never been bested by a widow when I’m teleported on them. Sojourn has gotten me a few times but I’ve taken more lives than I’ve lost
Not only they telegraph they are about to set up the ultimate, they telegraph any kind of engagement, the worst they do with that ability is trying to flank, it doesn't work mate, once everyone notices you, you have no way to escape even a 1 v 1
I actually use the wraith form to bluff out a support ultimate cause Zen is very common these days. I mostly use Q on securing a kill like an enemy DPS popping off before starting a teamfight or solo ulting a supp that's too effective with their jobs
I've also learned that he is pretty decent when it comes to flanking playing the objective but holding a choke also works really well for reaper cuz it closes the distance between you and enemies in order to guaranteed kills All it takes is a little patience
Gm1 reaper tip if you had enough playtime on the character to pretend you have irl use your shift to run towards them then get out acting like you have ult and using it to create space helps your team more than using it just to get out.
Awww I wish you didn't mention the teleport to a widow part. One of my favorite clips I still have is of a reaper who TPed to me as Widow and I head shot him. The second time he did it again, I didn't quote catch it and dropped down. He followed and then I hooked back up to high ground then shot him again lol. I love reaper's like that.
Reaper is better at tping to an off angle, flanking from short sightlines to potentially 2 or 3 hit a squishy, diverting attention from your tank so they can push up easier, then wraithing back to cover and stabilising until you can repeat the cycle.
Reaper is better at killing squishies than killing tanks. He straight up loses to most tanks in the 1v1 and even more favourable matchups like Winston are weaker than they were in OW1
If you time it right you can cancel out the annoying voice line when you teleport by using a key bind at the right time to spit out another voice line canceling each other out
The only problem with playing around your tank is because that there are some heavily movement based ones, like me with Wrecking Ball or Doomfist. I'm barely ever able to be used for cover just because I'm constantly moving around to smash through teams. I feel bad for the Reapers trying to use me for cover.
This happened today I was playing Echo, i saw a reaper teleporting in and I just wait a bit, launch my stickys right as he teleports in, he acquired delayed annihilation.
KarQ is the homie :) at the end of the day no one has original content even Kar. Our goal as creators is to share knowledge as we all share different audiences
1st one I knew. 2nd one: I disagree partially. If the widow is focused on another ally, I think it's fine to go and blast them out the game. Also, they usually panic and use their fast fire when they're getting chunked out. But being more cautious is better most of the time. 3rd one: Helped a lot because I'm so used to flanking all the time.
I’m a reaper main and I agree with some stuff said but I don’t agree with others, you definitely shouldn’t wraith to get close and yes don’t get caught teleporting but if your low shooting enemy’s from far is ok because you get the lifesteal. I also think reaper is more disruptive than to play with tanks and if the opponent is pushing with full force tp behind them and kill the support then focus tanks as you do lots of damage to them and get the lifesteal
With reaper, use tp constantly. Tp to a corner, tp to high ground. That is your engage. His fade should be for escape or to dodge CDs for a kill. Now fair warning the higher you go the easier he is to kill because he has a really fat head which makes him stupid easy to headshot. The higher you climb the more you see reaper played next to a tank to kill the enemy tank because he excels at that while other characters are much better at flanking aka tracer and genji. The big thing is use tp so much it almost feels like you are doing it off CD because constantly changing angles and taking a few shots at people can help you herd supports or dps into a position you can tp much closer and jump them. One trick is tp high ground, show yourself high ground which typically is not good for a flanker. The enemy now knows you are up there but if you stepped back out of their los after showing yourself and tp somewhere else they are going to assume you are still up there for a second making it easier to confuse the enemy on your location and makes it harder for their supports to react. It can also force one of their dps to push you even though the position is less advantagous for them and if you tp away already they are stuck in a shit position trying to clear you out while also giving up CDs throwong the timing of their teamfights off. I know this is a lot but I am good enough at reaper to have gotten to mid diamond, its hard to go any higer on him I've found because of the fat head issue. Too many soj, hanzo, widows, ashe will click forehead.
I’ve had a problem that I found a solution to. The TP move has a visible teleport area, so they always win there then shoot you, so if you use wraith right after it gets invulnerability
A rule I folow that has so far taken me from silver 4 to gold 2 (and still climbing, 21 games won btw) is E in, Shift out and either look for assassinations or fight with your team.
well good to know I had the right idea when I decided to play reaper, the teleport thing seemed obvious same with the tank an corners but I def fought outside my range on accident a lot, not much I could do there without experience

sometimes you do wanna use wraith offensively, as it makes you immune and reloads your guns, allowing you to deal more dps and dodge abilities.
also wrath can be used to reload quickly as it instantly reoalds gun so you can quickly double tap to get your ammo if you cant a Ford to reload
You can also use wraith to reload fast if you immediately cancel it, you come back with full ammo
Also wraith auto reloads your shotguns so if you need a quick reload and need to get away then use that
Reaper is better at tping to an off angle, flanking from short sightlines to potentially 2 or 3 hit a squishy, diverting attention from your tank so they can push up easier, then wraithing back to cover and stabilising until you can repeat the cycle.
Reaper is better at killing squishies than killing tanks. He straight up loses to most tanks in the 1v1 and even more favourable matchups like Winston are weaker than they were in OW1
If you time it right you can cancel out the annoying voice line when you teleport by using a key bind at the right time to spit out another voice line canceling each other out
As a gold I can often top right next to a sniper a they will miss 90% of the time or just not notice.
I usually disrespect the widow, Hanzo when I tp until he can actually punish it because the window is very tight to shoot reaper.
The only problem with playing around your tank is because that there are some heavily movement based ones, like me with Wrecking Ball or Doomfist. I'm barely ever able to be used for cover just because I'm constantly moving around to smash through teams. I feel bad for the Reapers trying to use me for cover.
I flank a lot with Reaper to great benefit. You also don’t want to stick too close to your tank all the time as this could create larger issues.
Instructions unclear, got headshotted by a Sage on generator A site.
love your videos, as a new player this really helps me out, thank you!
I got you ❤️
If u teleport while crouched u actually come out of the teleport crouching and it confuses most widows in my experience
To counter widows I suggest teleporting to them but crouch right as you finish the teleport
popping a teleporting reaper with widow hs is the most satisfying feeling in this entire game i swear.
This happened today I was playing Echo, i saw a reaper teleporting in and I just wait a bit, launch my stickys right as he teleports in, he acquired delayed annihilation.
I think his ultimate should be named “the devils tango”
Remember that ur wrath Ability reloads ur gun
This is true don’t use to reload but also don’t waste time reloading before
What I hate is that his kit is built like a flank character but he is loud asf.
Thanks karQ for the tips!! 🔥
KarQ is the homie :) at the end of the day no one has original content even Kar. Our goal as creators is to share knowledge as we all share different audiences
@@RauKnowsOW didn’t realize this wasn’t a KarQ video woah
1st one I knew.
2nd one: I disagree partially. If the widow is focused on another ally, I think it's fine to go and blast them out the game. Also, they usually panic and use their fast fire when they're getting chunked out. But being more cautious is better most of the time.
3rd one: Helped a lot because I'm so used to flanking all the time.
The thing with widow is his tele is pretty loud and once you get in good lobbies they won’t panic.
@@RauKnowsOW true true

I’m a reaper main and I agree with some stuff said but I don’t agree with others, you definitely shouldn’t wraith to get close and yes don’t get caught teleporting but if your low shooting enemy’s from far is ok because you get the lifesteal. I also think reaper is more disruptive than to play with tanks and if the opponent is pushing with full force tp behind them and kill the support then focus tanks as you do lots of damage to them and get the lifesteal
The lifesteal is only like 35% I believe? So if you’re long range that’s not much health considering how low his damage drop off is
@@RauKnowsOW every bit counts
The amount of time in was just waiting as moira or hanzo for the Enemy reaper to appear xD
I've hit so many reapers in the head with hanzo when they try to teleport up to me
I learned to teleport behind the enemy team and farm it starting from distance squishies to tanks
also play around health packs this will make you die noticeably less
I like to wait till my tp and wraith are both up, tp into their backline and kill squishies, then wraith out back to ur team
All I do is slowly walk around behind the enemy team, get pentas all the time, it’s very brain dead XD
Its funny when you rath in too the enemy team then run away, because they will try too stun you lol
I’ve had a problem that I found a solution to. The TP move has a visible teleport area, so they always win there then shoot you, so if you use wraith right after it gets invulnerability
I like writhing in to make people scater
A rule I folow that has so far taken me from silver 4 to gold 2 (and still climbing, 21 games won btw) is E in, Shift out and either look for assassinations or fight with your team.
well good to know I had the right idea when I decided to play reaper, the teleport thing seemed obvious same with the tank an corners but I def fought outside my range on accident a lot, not much I could do there without experience
This shorts guides are extremely helpful for learning how to play again, keep up the great work dude!
Corners and payload. Payload is my best friend. I can live for days dodging around that thing.
Wraithing in is still a good idea, I see it all the time in t500 games
I like to bait people out and fake my ultimate to push them back
