YESSSSS I despise the awful plastic center console 🤮. How am I gonna put my foot on the hump and kick back while I’m cruise controlling down the road???
My first car and daily driver for 6 years was a 2000 Century and I loved it to bits. It was an absolute tank: incredibly reliable and robust but also very comfortable and got 30 mpg on the highway. I only retired recently because I got a 97 Mercury Grand Marquis but I don't care for it compared to my Buick. I'm definitely gonna be going back to another Buick from this era. Preferably a Park Avenue or Riviera but I'm also on the look out for another Regal or Century.
It ride smooth, yet unsophisticated haha. It's soft yet some road imperfections really jostle it around worse than a higher-end luxury car, in my experience.
I have an 02 Century and let me tell you... You can have tamperature differences of WAY more than 5 degrees with that dual zone climate control. I've tested this. One side can be hotter than the gates of Hell, while the other is ice cold. It's brilliant.
Not sure if you have the automatic or manual climate control in yours, but in my 2001 with manual control the lowest fan speed (marked "Lo") blows no air at all. And it's done that since new. You ever experienced that?
For anyone looking at these just don’t. The lesabre/park avenue has a 3800 (a much better motor than the 3100), a better ride, more features, just a better car overall. The people who owned these centuries just drove them into the ground. You can hardly find a good one anymore.
Got a 2002 Park Avenue some dude wants to trade me his century & 750 bucks for it. Funny thing they got almost got the same amount of miles 187k + mines got a dent by the passenger side but 8/10 interior & his interior is like a 5 but clean on the outside. Idk
Is it true they unfortunately had head gasket problems with coolant and oil mixing in the engines eventually leading to them to lock up if not repaired? Is it an expensive fix?
@@an2niotransitproductions813 at the beginning of the switch over to dexcool there was some gasket failure, actually quite a bit but they did get a hand on it with a new gasket materials it took a few years felpro was the first but unfortunately we couldn't use the felpro aftermarket gaskets on a warranty claim only gm gaskets with were late to the party 2003 to 2004
@@michaels9657 Oh so don't get the 1990's Buicks then because of the experimental dexcool swap GM was doing. The later Centurys sound like a better option then from the 2000's.
I have an 04 Limited... It is so outdated compared to the competition. (I bought it used in 07) A 3.1L V6 with only 175hp? 4 cylinder Accords, Altimas, Camrys, etc made the same power or more. The interior is bland, the gauge and radio cluster is so outdated and lacks alot of motor indicators. The speakers are paper thin and sound terrible. The window motors are of poor quality and constantly need to be repaired. The car is still running with 138k miles (2019) with occasional transmisson jerks when shifting gears. The leather seats are the only good quality of the interior cause the rest is made of cheap plastic that easily breaks or cracks. If I could go back, I would have bought a japanese competitor. This car virtually did not change when it first debuted this body style in 97 and lost options like sunroof, digital climate control, etc. It is no wonder why the century was discontinued in 05.
Some of what you say would've been solved by buying the Regal (same car but better). The Century was really the budget old lady special. The rest was solved by the 2005 LaCrosse.
I had a 1999 Buick Century Custom that I enjoyed driving I am currently searching for another one I don't want a limited because I don't like how the leather seats are designed I think the cloth seats are better designed
I wish smaller vehicles like this can have column mounted shifters and front split bench seating! This Century looks so sharp!
Someone once told me mine looks like a turd. I strongly misunderstood and disagreed.

They’re beautiful! Wish Buick can go back to this.

@@gregorymarsh9504 nope, when I first got the car all levels of fan control worked perfectly, now it only works on full blast lol

these cars had such a low warranty claim thru gm one they were sold you only seen them for maintenance, buick dealership mechanic 24 yrs.

I suppose though then unless a used 90's one is disclosed with the felpro aftermarket gasket repair, it would be fine then.

I got a LeSabre. It blows the century out of the water. The 3800 gets better mileage and the pickup is night and day.
