    honestly, i would like to have both a park ave and the town car. both have their pros and cons, but both have that business look that i think looks nice.

    Thats a bold video the Town Card true competitor is the Cadillac Fleetwood.

      True. Lincoln and Cadillac competed for decades. Mercury was the Ford competitor to GM’s Buick and Oldsmobile. The grand Marquis was the main competitor to the Olds Ninety Eight and the Buick Electra/Park Avenue

    I own both. Lincoln Town Car was by far a higher end car. Park was a top of line for Buick. I liked them both for different reasons. Both good American cars. 🇺🇸

      True comparison should be a Cadillac Fleetwood vs Towncar.

    I still see Town Cars on the road every single day and they haven't built one in 14 years. I can't tell you the last time I saw a Park Avenue. That's really all you need to know about which is the better car. Park Avenue was a fine sedan, but the Town Car is a legend and still plentiful on the road for good reasons.

    • @bluwng
      @bluwng 7 месяцев назад

      Panther platform vs Buick 3800 considered bullet proof. Obviously people preferred the Lincoln but it is erroneous to say it is better based on popularity. Is Taylor Swift a better musician than your favorite rock band?

    • @chrisburnett9618
      @chrisburnett9618 7 месяцев назад

      They preferred it for good practical reasons. Individuals and livery companies bought and used the Town Car and not the Park Avenue because the TC was bigger, had rear-wheel drive, better quality leather, and a V8 engine that was every bit as bullet-proof as the 3800. You must not understand how markets and economics work. Consumers en masse don't buy inferior products when they have clear choices. iPhone beat Blackberry because iPhone was better. Town Car beat Park Avenue because Town Car was better. Its continuous presence on the road 14 years after the last one was built is a testament to its superiority.@@bluwng

      They really couldn't. The Town Car was the much better car. I still see them all the time on the road even today and they haven't been built in 14 years. That's a testament to how high quality they were. Park Avenue was a fine sedan, but the Town Car is a legend and still plentiful on the road for good reason.

    I love Buicks, but I think a better comparison would be a Mercury Grand Marquis. Lincoln is more comparable to Cadillac imo.

      LeSabre was matched with The Grand Marq but I feel as though the LeSabre would have been better matched with the Sable.

    Both are sorely missed in 2022. I have had a1985 Continental and 1996 Park Ave Ultra. The GM cars have less maintenance costs. I know I sold my 85 Conti with rear airbag costs. Picked up an 85 Buick LeSabre and could replace entire shock, struts for the cost of one airbag on my Lincoln.

    the town car wins hands down, it's been used for limo companies and the 4.6l v8 is a bulletproof engine that can last vertally forever.

      The 3800's are also very much so in the same vain, they last forever. Only downside is the transmissions goes around 150,000-200,000 depending on maintenance.
      Gas mileage is a lot better on them 3.8's, you can be in a boat and get 30+mpg, and still have good power. Those V8's are great, but they eat gas, and I'm sorry, a 4.6 putting out 250hp? Pathetic.
