@@busbqbill449 in what way is a test light more versatile than a power probe since by default a power probe does everything a test light can do and more
@@busbqbill449 well it's true that you cannot load a circuit for a proper voltage drop test with a power probe, but it's also true that your load pro test light has to be used in conjunction with a multimeter because the load pro test light is just a set of leads as far as I can tell but I havent ever used one with that said I'm glad that that paticular tool is good for you. Although with that said no other test lights have this function so far as im aware. So to make a general statement that a test light is more versatile is quite short sighted considering that a power probe is a self contained unit and can do more than 99% of test lights out there it's also true that depending on what model of power probe you buy you can also measure resistance on a circuit and a plethora of other things that are essential to electrical diagnosis that even your load pro wont do in a standalone unit. Therefore the logical conclusion is that a power probe is still far more versatile than a test light except for possibly your one specific use case which you sighted with your load pro and since your load pro is basically just some over glorified test leads and not really a test light I still fail to see how a power probe is less versatile but that's my 2 cents. I'm glad the load pro works for you and fits your needs
whenever i work on a car, i always put the front driver side window down no matter the job so if the keys ever get stuck inside, the window is down and easy to get the keys or open the door so it’s a suggestion for you :)
I do the same.. Sometimes when it is hot i will start my car and let the ac blow but ill crack the driver window just incase the car somehow locks itself.. I do have an extra set of keys but still.
Here is my prediction, you will need 1 or 2 more trucks pretty soon. Great business and model, just hire the right people that share your wonderful people skills. Good luck, you deserve it. Denver out
This right here is retirement plan. Have enough mobile mechanics to run your business without you having to do any labour but still make enough money to retire.
The problem is finding good techs willing to do mobile repairs. That mixed with the Corona virus is why my boss's business didn't work in Colorado, and why I took over most the accounts by myself. But it can work, it just takes commitment and time, which my boss was getting old and wanting to retire so he gave up on it.
If a person is skilled enough to do this king of work I think that it will work for herself, not for someone else. Good luck finding skilled and honest mechanics that will work for monthly pay
I really like the idea of a fund where we can help people get their car fixed by you. Please make it open and transparent and you will have plenty of people donating
Common questions: I wear the face shield on my head to keep sweat and hair out of my eyes. There are some tools i use often that i still don't have so this is an ongoing project. No I don't have a vice. I don't need one often so I haven't gotten one yet. My truck is so big because I wanted to get people attention and its nice to be able to move round in amongst my tools. and it locks up very well. I got the truck on Facebook. but you can find them at government auctions for about 7 thousand dollars in good shape. (this one had 63k miles).
@@soota6083 If you're using an impact wrench then get impact sockets. Chrome sockets are a bit to hard for impact use and will take a beating. Really, you need both. The thickness of impact sockets makes them not usable in some circumstances where clearance around the bolt/nut head is an issue.
Found channel researching mobile business ideas.. Pretty bad ass you fix people's cars in the blaring sun on the spot.. Admire the dedication to the skill. Keep pushing!
No AC? HELL NO! Very cool business, good luck! No boss and you keep the profits, nice. You may also tell people to send in their estimate to see if you can't beat the price.
Wait till you get to my age! I tow with a cargo van and had a small fold down bench seat in the back. I removed that and replaced it with a porta pottie which is more essential!
A great cheap idea for cheap foam is puzzle piece gym flooring, they cut fairly easy and help keep stuff organized! I've personally changed to neoprene but either are good! An organized box saves time and time is money!
Wow that's badass man congratulations to you and your family if I'm ever over I would like to meet you your an awsome person God bless you and your family and your business keep up the good work
Hey there Ernest, Just want to say "Well done mate" I love your videos and it's awesome seeing your channel growing at the rate it is, as a fellow Mobile Mechanic down in new Zealand I know oh too well how challenging it can be at times, so keep up the good work mate you're an inspiration to many 👍
Truck looks amazing. I am so glad your channel is blowing up and so popular. It shows you put a ton of effort in to.the channel. Keep up the amazing work.
Great video I’ve been following you for a little bit , and I didn’t see a bench press to hold the parts when you work on them ,they’re very helpful I would recommend if u don’t have one get one , keep the good work and always be honest with your customers, stay safe my man !
You know what would be also really badass if you put in a new motor and transmission etc. just like that one show called u haul it I believe it's called that
Sweet decal!! You’re on your way, dude. Nothing can stop a good, hard working individual such as yourself. I have no doubts you’ll achieve whatever it is your after...Good luck 🍀Ernest🍀
I would recommend the Arcan aluminum 3 ton jack at Costco. You have to order it online but it’s an awesome jack and it weight 56lbs. It’s only $100 and it’s the most affordable aluminum jack on the market. I use it for everything myself. It’s red and silver.
I’m glad to see this channel grow! I’m a mechanic myself and have been with you for a while and I have to say you are honest and do a great job and deserve way more subs than you have!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video earnest, love the new wrap. People will see that on your truck and they will chase you down, you will have more business than you'll know what to do with 😬
I think that is just the Channel's name. Ernest doesn't actually rescue people that are broken down on the side of the road. Ernest is a Mobile Mechanic, a great one at that!
Love the Milwaukee fan I use mine everyday in the shop. It’s a life saver for sure and I use all Milwaukee power tools. Best tools for the trade for sure. Best warranty also
Man, great video, You should call Craftman or Snap-on and try to get them to design a limited edition "Your New Mechanic" tool set. Use your colors and have like "YNM" on the handle in that sexy orange! I would totally buy that limited edition set no shit. Thanks again for the great vids pal!
I do like the graphics on your van! It’s great advertising for your business! You should consider having a small fridge! I’m sure there are some commercial fridges for vans like yours! Congrats!
I am really enjoying this channel, so glad I subscribed. Just an opinion, but I'd drop the NEW mechanic, it just may give the impression that you don't know your stuff. As I said it's just my opinion, not saying it's wrong at all.
I channeled my "inner Ernest" and conjured up the courage to replace my own spark plugs! So I just want to say thank you Ernest for making these videos for us, I saved myself some money, and it was a job well done!
Hi !!! 👋 ODIN’S LOCK sent me your way !!! AWESOME MECHANIC BUSINESS STEP VAN 👍👍 I recently purchased a MAC TOOLS STEP VAN to turn into a Mobile Art Studio 😎 I bought it from a guy that was using it as a Mobile Motorcycle Mechanic Shop Cool video !!! I look forward to exploring more of your videos. I am new to making videos myself.
Don't ya just hate it when stuff walks off :-( A good clamp meter, Hall effect type, so you can measure ac and dc current without removing connectors, is a good thing too. Eric O and Ivan use them a lot to look for parasitic draw problems. Happy August.
Roadside Rescue I have a question. So you know a ton about vehicles and I want to flip cars when I’m older so did you take schooling to learn so much about cars or was it just learning as you work on things
You should also check out tekton tools, they have great quality products, affordable pricing, great warranty, and on top of that they have a great rewards program. The only downside is shipping usually takes a couple days.
I recently ordered car door magnets from instaprint for my truck, pretty inexpensive and also can get like tailgate magnets; maybe for the ranger when you use that? Wraps can get expensive that’s why I’m not ready for one yet lol the mail truck looks LEGIT though
i'm assuming the autozones in your state are much better than the ones here in southern california. i quit buying parts at autozone due to all the faulty new parts i had to return. i mainly go to o'reily's and napa now. i'm no mechanic, i just work on my own truck to save $$ lol. another good video.
