I see the grey AutoZone merchandise totes! I bet you know the workers well enough that they gave you a few extra totes for your tools. Former AutoZone employee here 🙋🏻♂️
I used exhaust U bolts to secure my tool box and my roofing equipment on my truck. Welded the nuts on after tightening. Also made my own T-bar lock contraption to lock the drawers. Worked great for me. I also used caulking and made my own seal for the top lid and drawers, just don’t close the lid or drawers until the caulking is dry, helps keep the rain out.
Keep up the good work bro. I remember my days doing road side repairs. It's sucks because you sometimes have to run home to get something that you forgot or rain keeps interrupt your schedule. Oh I remember those days. Fellas have really step their game up over the years to feed their family.
I run a similar set up in NC. I keep my US general box near my tailgate of my F-150 so I can access the drawers easy and my jack sits next to the box. Everything else I can reach over the side of the bed. Years running this set up and I never had anything stolen but I live in a decent subdivision in the burbs.
I probably would've gotten one of those camper shells with the side storage for the tools. Or you can get a regular shell with tinted windows all around.
Could you make a hinged bracket strong enough to secure toolbox to the bed, and prevent drawers from opening? Cheap insurance. Putting the tool box on runners so you could slide it back of bed would make your life easier, a pain to make though.
Cute shop assistant! Enjoy her now. Pretty soon she’s going to cause you a lot of headaches!🤣. It’s true that they grow up too fast. Mine is already 27 and it seems like yesterday we were at the zoo.
Idk how theft is like in Utah but maybe consider bolting down the toolbox to the bed with some L brackets. Also maybe bolt the grey bin and obtain one of those LONG locks that'll clear that little ziptie hole on the grey crate. Best of luck
I like the signage. Very nice. As for the set up not what I would go with. Put the toolbox at the back of the bed snug against tailgate. You don't want to climb into the bed for every tool. Then put a frame coming out of the holes in the bed rail that can extend down into the bed behind the box to keep it from sliding. Flip tailgate down, you have a work surface and instant tool access. Put a hitch platform on to hold your floor jack. Weight is at the back, should improve handling. Put tools you just want to reach in for in behind the cab. If you do evening work add a custom ladder rack to it so you can add lights to the back and sides to see what you are working on and use the upper crossbar to mount a light to shine down on the box and your tailgate work surface. Keep the videos coming!
Eh I had one on my truck which is a 3500, it was the extra tall leer topper, and it added some protection but when getting in and out and grabbing tools you have to bend down so much it gets old really fast, and if he ever wants to put a small compressor or something in the bad the toppers gotta go. Or jacks, you have to take the handles out and it just adds up with other things that are harder. I thought it would be a good thing to have the topper but I quickly figured out it was a real pain
@@ConTheDon187 he only uses this truck for small jobs with minimal amount of tools needed for certain jobs. If it’s a bigger job he uses the old panel van. So not too much jumping in and out of the back. But a cap is more secure, and keeps everything drier.
Hey Ernest just wanted to let you know to keep up the great work and thanks for another great video as always Also if your really thinking of hiring someone else to drive the ranger and do some of your other calls in the near future ... I may just need to send you my resume bc I would just love to be doing what you're doing on a daily basis and I really honestly mean that even if it's just going to be a few hours a week to start out..... thanks again for another AWSOME videos and please keep them coming...... Also I completely 100% agree with you whenever you said that about the spray cans rubbing/radling together going down the road that's just a great sound in general bc it probably means that your working and your providing for those who you care about well that's what I thought about when you said that..... Thanks again

Love the videos man! That's awesome Mfkn ford ranger! I'm not sure what your rainproofing method is, I did see a tarp but I'd recommend wd-40 and trying to seal the toolbox somehow with rubber gasket.
Hey honest Ernest. Just wanted to let you know that’s one killer moustache!! I know you speak Spanish is that tickle of hair the cholo within ? ( not meant derogatory I’m Aussie and to us cholo is a Mexican gnagsta or cartel family member or something sixk like that 🤣)
I keep saying the same thing on all your videos but you should find a customer with a small fleet of trucks, it's a really good way to make more money being a mobile mechanic. I specifically work on fleets
I’m a subscriber and a minor RUclips music producer, and I don’t mean this as a knock, but your baby’s travels and playing in the yard kept me more interested than your description of what you were doing. He’s a real tiger. Among other things, he climbed into a stroller, moved the tray in and pulled the convertible top over! Then he wanted out and couldn’t move the tray so he slithered under it.
*NOW* Is the time to give attention to the Rescue Ranger, make a nice video? Brakes, oil & filter, trans oil change, diff oil change. You're going to be unbelievably busy soon, and you can't afford surprises, you know? At least a quick video of going over it? Thanks!
Like the 100 others commented, you better secure those tools really good because a thief will steal a from another to cut your drawers open to steal all your tools. I hope nobody ever bothers your stuff.
I’m watching from the uk... surely , is security not an issue where you live , also , what about the weather . I presume you’ve somewhere undercover and secure to park it on a night , cos it always seems to be parked on the roadside . I could guarantee that if I parked that outside my house on a evening, it would be gone by morning!
Start reaching out to tool manufacturer and see if they'll let you do reviews. I've seen guys with less subs doing reviews for manufacturers. Reach out to Milwaukee they give everyone tools
Yes. Under boost you get higher levels of oil deposits puddling in your intake which can cause detonation when it gets pulled into the cylinders. I video cammed it on a 2009 mustang gt with 13,000 miles stock engine. Nice little puddle of oil inside intake, slight buildup on pistons.
I am confused are you leaving that toolbox in the bed of the truck and if so did you bolt it down? doesn't matter how safe of an area you live in if that toolbox isn't bolted down it becomes a easy target for criminals. Or consider getting a commercial truck cap.
@@johnwilliamson2393 it's a joke over here people even steal catalytic converters over here in day light they just jack up your car saw it off and off they go
Very little water gets into drawers of a closed box, even in very bad weather - a much bigger problem is dust and grit getting into the bearings. What's with all these armchair "don't you know you can't put a box in a truck" types? Haven't you ever seen a semi being fixed? A box in the back and a rough n' tough tool set is pretty universal.
Hope you lock that baby up down every which way possible.. It doesn't matter where you go now a day's. If it's not, people think that it's theirs for the taking.. Make sure to bolt that box to the bed at least. Would suck to have all of that stolen so easily. Love your channel!!! :)
I was going to suggest the same thing.
where im from all that stuff would have been gone if you turned your back on it for a second.

you should get a camper shell so thieves can't steal your tool drawer. my friend had a camper shell with a top that came off or slid back.
LOL! That was so cute. Your little boy was looking for the "Doggy bus" Ranger looks great!
NICE SETUP ERNEST, COOL THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO EXPAND👍HOPE TO SEE THAT RANGER COMPLETED WITH MORE TOOLS. THANKS FOR SHOWING US SET UP.👍

great ideas as for reaching i can access the whole box from the side with my long arms so i dont mind the placement. :)
I would look to see if you could find a used cap for that bed. It would provided another level of protection for your tools. Weather and theft.

What security measures are you going to put in place that's alot of money in the back of that truck

get yourself a job box from hd or so put that behind the tool box for the jack stands so on
Need a locking camper top for that thing. Afraid your gonna end up with some stolen stuff
Look into a montezuma triangle toolbox..
Is that box water proof
Does the tools rust when it rains while outside in that tool box?
Personally I would have bought a few rolling toolboxes to use as storage and make everything more transportable.
ues some u bolts to bolt it to the bed. or exhaust U bolts.

I don't know why but for some reason when I first looked at the thumbnail I thought you converted the back of the truck into a grill or something lmao
Do you not have parking brakes in America ?
Driving rain is gonna wreck your tools pretty quick.
They don’t get a whole lot of rain out there
Are you improving your security for the truck to protect your investment?
Hey man can you drive to Boston to change my alternator
Random question, but do you think oil catch cans are beneficial to gdi engines with turbos on newer vehicles? Is it really worth it?
Yes. Under boost you get higher levels of oil deposits puddling in your intake which can cause detonation when it gets pulled into the cylinders. I video cammed it on a 2009 mustang gt with 13,000 miles stock engine. Nice little puddle of oil inside intake, slight buildup on pistons.
May have better luck with a Rubbermaid action packer for your cans
Would of been a lot better if you were a little more zoomed in lol still great video
Those tools boxes aren't waterproof, won't everything get all rusty and them hold water?
ill address that in a video soon!
