🥺👉👈Pleeeeeease🙏 try the Skyloong GK87 Pro. looks like the most innovative Keyboard out there. Pretty good dampening, hotswap(of course), "wired, BT, 2.4Ghz mode", HOTSWAP KNOBS, HOTSWAP SCREEN and ""Hi-Fi" Thocky Sounds". @HipyoTech
So this comes with Asus own designed NX Snow switches that cant be purchased separately. Which switch that u can buy would be actually the closest to those NX Snow switches?
Hey can you get the NX Snow switches just with the white Azoth version?
I appreciate your stance that Brands can't change what you say, but I also like that Brands keep improving and sending their stuff to you so you can demonstrate. :)
Well said!
Those keycaps are gorgeous. If I was in the market for a new set of keycaps right now, they’d be a top contender.
When spray painting, remove the tape when still "green". Should have taped over the rubber feet too or just skipped the plastic bottom. To get a really nice finish, you should sand with very fine grit between coats. And do at least three coats of paint, but probably better to 5+ of very thin coats. Then top off with three coats of clear acrylic. Don't sand after the last coat of acrylic.
Well, it was still green when he removed the tape. 😝
Thank you for this comment! I'm going to be painting my keyboard case and computer case soon. So I appreciate those tips!
Actually I was thinking of painting my keyboard case. So I was very glad to hear about your experience painting. So, Thanks to you and Nola, I am better prepared.
Thank you for sitting there and guarding Hipyo as he unscrews the keyboard, Nola. Great job!
I have both the NX red and NX snow versions because I couldn't tell from videos alone which one I'd prefer. I like them both but I think for gaming (slight risk of making more mistakes however) and thockiness the snows are slightly better. The reds have a slight wobble but its not really noticeable unless you are scanning for it. When I asked my wife she said the reds felt and sounded better (she probably finds the sound of the reds to be less annoying lol). Neither of us are keyboard nerds so take that as you will. I think the obsession with thock in the community favors the snows. However, the longer travel, higher actuation force and larger actuation point make it harder to make mistakes with the reds in theory. I notice that I'm more likely to hit the bottom of each press with the snows due to the actuation differences as well. The Reds have a higher frequency sound whereas the snows are lower frequency hence the thockiness. So again its all just preference. Both sound great overall with the snows being thockier and louder in my opinion. Both enjoyable typing and gaming experiences. I am still undecided. So if you got the reds and have FOMO please don't think that its a huge difference or advantage. It's not.
Damn u just wrote a whole essay 😂
@@bingoosoh it was actually fun. I used both keyboards to write it. Killed two birds with one stone.
Lol
Just bought the Scope II for work and gaming. Yes, I must have the numpad!
Your modding made the keystrokes sound like raindrops on an umbrella instead, insane.
Which switches were used in the final build?
Thank you for your Guarding services, Nola!
For painting. Sand, prime, paint and then remove the tape when it's still curing so it doesn't rip the paint edges. Other then that it's really pretty, too expensive but pretty.
you should do a review on the drunk deer a75
Hey Hipe Tech! 🤩 Your mechanical keyboard videos are my absolute jam - seriously, kudos on the clear explanations and awesome presentation! 😊 But let's talk giveaways - my excitement levels? Off the charts! 🚀 Now, here's the thing: your link seems to be taking a break when it reaches Addis Ababa, Ethiopia! 🌍 Come on, buddy, us keyboard enthusiasts are everywhere! Let's break down those region barriers and make your giveaways a global sensation! 🌐✨ Sending cheers from Ethiopia - your content is fire! 🔥🇪🇹 Keep those videos coming, and let's turn up the giveaway game! 🎉💻
By the way, if you don't reply, I might just send my keyboard's spacebar after you! 😂
unless something has changed, the fastest 2.4GHz implementation used to be the one from the Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed
Something I like about these clicky switches is that you can actually hear the click rather than those hollow scratchy extra noise from the razer keyboards. It's almost like the bottoming out is silent, and only the click is heard (at least from my headphones and from hipyo's mic). I wouldn't mind those clicky switches if I'm being completely honest. But ofc linear gang on top!
Going for asus was an awesome decision, I love the nx snow switches.
Wow those keycaps look great. They look really nice with the shade of green you chose for the keyboard.
That said, i am 99% sure that Kalih makes those specific types pf clicky switches. This is mostly due to the stem shape and that it sounds and kinda looks similar to a their Box style clicky switches like the Jades or Navys (which i think they copywrited but its been so long im not too sure).
I have the original with Goblintech Coffee keycaps and love it. Feels really good and sounds great (overall).
You can silence the critics by getting Nola to paint it next time. It would be so cute to see her holding the spray can.
Considering how you messed up the screen you could get that green pen you used to draw some leaves around the screen to make it look intentional.
I need to know what the jungle keycaps look like with the “overgrowth” front plate for the Drop CSTM80. They seem like they might be perfect…
I have Rog Azoth Brown Mechanical and it really good for typing and gaming
Hipyo!!!!! That keycap set is gorgeous!!! And oh, ALMOST perfect! Why no brown Esc and Enter key to match the SB?!?! Bruh….
Now i need both the hippo keycaps and the plant keycaps😢
I just completed and took a pic of a build... literally before watching this! I used it in my giveaway entry... I just hope no one wants a sound test 😜
I had two issues with mine. OLED burn in and the infamous key repeating problem many described. Not sure if this keyboard is worth buying unless those concerns are even remotely addressed.
I have only had mine for 1.5 months, but I don't see any burn in.
For the key repeating issue, are you possibly using a KVM? Because when I plugged in the USB receiver into my KVM and pressed too many keys it would basically crash the KVM causing it to repeat keys until I restarted it, but when just plugging the USB receiver directly into the PC I haven't had any repeating issues.
@@lycanthoss Well, I am not sure what the hell happened but I immediately lowered the screen brightness on the keyboard and it happened within the first month. And no, it was connected via a usb hub. Not sure if that can cause issues. I did try a direct connection but that didn't help either.
@fjallmann well, I dunno what you are displaying on the screen. I just display CPU/GPU temps. No burn in visible.
I tried plugging the USB dongle into a cheap sabrent USB hub and could not replicate any repeating keys. I think you just got unlucky and received a defect.
That is what I want to say as well. To be frank I really miss that keyboard 😤
I got the Azoth with the SNOW switches. They are SO amazingly smooth. And yet, the sound profile of this expensive keyboard was underwhelming. Hypio is right: it's the keycaps. I don't understand why a high end gaming keyboard comes with such thin, cheap-feeling switches.
I swapped them out, and oh my the difference is amazing. I managed to get a hold of some shine-through doubleshot PBT caps that are significantly thicker. They also have the wide, rounded square tops that I love, and the difference is night and day. (literally--I replaced the dark grey caps on my black Azoth with white caps, and now I have a striking black and white keyboard.) I decided to keep the original caps on the black keys because they have little special functions printed on them. The result feels, sounds, and looks better. Much better.
Really, just switch out the keycaps and you'll have yourself a really good keyboard.
which keycaps if i may ask
@@doodoobutter4406 I tried to find them again on Amazon, but they are no longer being sold. They were doubleshot PBT shine-through keycaps that had this Amazon title:
Womier Keycaps 75% Percent - White and Black Keycaps, PBT Keycaps ISA Profile, 189 Keys Full Keyboard Keycaps for Cherry MX Covers Fullsize 60% 65% 75% 80% 100% Gaming Keycaps, White
But when I go to my purchase history and look at the product linked there, they are no longer shine-through, and I think maybe Womier doesn't sell the ones I purchased anymore. I suspect that the die-hard keyboard community doesn't really like shine-through keycaps like I do.
@@Qichar hey thank you!
How thick are your new Keycaps? And how thick were the old ones? :)
It's... fine, but you're right: it's too expensive at $250 because it's not quite good enough to be "done"; It needs keycaps and some light modding to really reach the point of being a great device. Also, I'm just not a fan of the north-facing switches. It know it's to get that awesome gamer shine-through, but... meh.
I bought the azoth brown switches after watching the previous video and love it stock from day 1...maybe someday I'll mod it but won't be anytime soon!
just curious but why do you keep using painters tape for the tape mod. this is a fire hazard. just use electric tape. also, stop putting things in keyboards that have moisture in them. pcb's get warm and moisture in a material inside the keyboard will result in condensation on the electronics.
The Glarses transitions really make this video pop for me. Did you do the vocals for that?
I did hahaha
@@HipyoTech I love it. Yours and his videos made me wanna get into the hobby. Just gotta find a good jumping off point for that sweet sweet thock
Absolutely loved the video and the Azoth coming in white. Unfortunately, it's not available in Europe yet
Love the sound of those clicky switches!
Hipyo's "so you dont have to" is spreading faster then covid 💀
Hey! Maybe iam just bad are searching. But are those switches buyable? Without the whole Keyboard? Ilready own a rog azoth keayboard. But would like to try new switches. in this case, those NX switches. Thanks! :)
plant key caps!!
On the v1 you unscrewed the keyboard slightly to improve the gasket performance, did you do the same for the v2?
just bought one of keychrons prebuilt keyboards should have cheack other brands to but i dont regret it
like honestly... if u really want wireless gaming "Custom" keyboard... this was and still is the best.
try the Royal Kludge H81, I think you'll really get a good video for the budgeters, and I'd like to knw your thoughts on it!
You should make a video about the Ajazz Ak820. I have this keyboard and it sound very good for $50
For this price I wish they would get into the analog switches and 1 up Wooting with a 75% board and really good quality. Id buy it forsure. Atm I am waiting for the keycrhon version as Steelseries is a bit to gamer and only full size or tkl and wooting is too small for me.
I like the sound of that click.
I got my Azoth for 179. I'm guessing they price it at 250 so they can do planned sales since they are a major retail brand.
Yeah, they are clearly inflating the MSRP in anticipation of that sweet 40% off Black Friday sale.
man, the only reason Im not buying that set of key caps is because the letters are not centered. I know it is a me thing but I really wish the lettering was centered on the keys.
Ah I personally dislike centered legends but fair enough
I am going to start my own keyboard channel. I will arise even higher than you someday!
asus keyboards really good nice update I have the asus strix flare it's like your fingers will have muscles...it's hard.
unsubscribed and then subscribed again for an extra Howdy Hey.... My sources told me you get ANOTHER....Howdy Hey for commenting(waiting😎😎)
Clicky switches are life.
Great job Nola!
I got access here via the youtube Shorts. But it was with storm switches, not the snow switches here in the full video. I am wondering if they have actually manufactured the storm switches for sale
60 Dollars for keycaps is crazy bro
Stock sound is better for me. But the color I like that nature elemental theme :D 😅
I'm almost certain the MX Clickies are a re-colored Box White. They sound just like them.
those clicky switches are just like the Kailh clicky switches. they use click bars to make a better clicky sound. Kailh Box Whites are my favorite clickies and it sounds just like mouse clicks. others prefer the much heavier Kailh Box Jades and Box Navy since they make a much louder click. You can convert then to linears too. you just remove or move the click bar so it won't create a clicky sound anymore
kailh clickies with the click bar removed are so nice actually
Those clicky switches are almost exactly like Kailh box muted jade.
Mine is on the way
The tape mod will forever be the best mod
It's all fine and dandy, but I like Razers low profile switches and that feeling the best (Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL). The last ASUS I had (Strix Flare 1 with MX brown) was cheep sounding and in the end the switches started chatting, doublepressing and some of the LEDs stopped displaying certain colors. Very disapointed in the build quality and it made me bypass ASUS and turn to Razor new stuff. And I hate anything below TKL for proper work/play at home.
The only plus the ASUS had, or has on some keyboards, are the RX switches with centered LEDs and primarily ABS shine-through keycaps that can be laser-eched so I can have my own language layout, like my new Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL. Anyone outside US/UK that does not use those two layouts (German, Nordic etc. originals are extremely rare), hates doubleshot keycaps because of that inability to localize them properly. And only idiots will pay 200-300€ for a wrong layout or that disgusting small Enter key, especially on shine-through RGB caps. The worst offenders, like Razer Huntsman/Blackwidow, have localized layout symbols printed in white, like a cheap no-name crap. For that money, no thank You.
My Azoth died on me today, PCB or something stopped working... so cant use the keyboard. It was a pleasure for 4 months... auch -320$ but...
This or q1 pro as first "proper" finished custom platform?
so the snow switches are better than the red switches?
do you that kind of service of modding the keyboard?
Honestly, that's what I would expect when someone says "clicky" switches, those are really nice.
looking forward to when the moonlight variant becomes available to the public
Its available now at microcenter
Di you know shipping is expensive? I just learn that ...😂🤣🤣🤣
The font on those keycaps is still horrible.
Honestly, as someone who has a VEHEMENT HATRED towards clicky switches... those were def ones that I'd honestly not want to get violent over.
How do the red switches and snow switches differ? Are they more/less silent? Bought the red switches now I'm wondering if I
Should exchange for the snow switches. Pls help!
whats the electric screwdriver called?
Great video...unfortunately i can't fint the Asus rog azoth moonlight white with the NX snow switches and UK layout. :(
I purchased the corsair K65 plus. WIll someone PLEASE tell me what keys to buy that shine through and are about the same size and noise... I want your good sound, but not the "cuteness"
uhhhhh why is the NX storm switch version impossible to find? does it even exist? i only see snow on the white ones, and the black ones dont even tell me the switches
Any video planned on the leobog hi75?
Genuantly good content
stok sesi birazdaha kalınmış bence stoğu daha iyi
You knew it didnt come w/ a charging brick, c'mon now lol
Royal kludge r75 please 🥺
The newest royal kludge keyboard
Please ask Asus if they release an ISO DE version 😍
What is the wooting/hall effect? And what's the best keyboard for getting it? Thanks
Hi Mr. Statue of Liberty.
I'm a complete noob with keyboards, I have the azoth nx snow and I want to change the keycaps should I look for?
Great video! I am looking to buy asus azoth with storm switches, but I can't find it anywhere. Any help?
10/10 content keeb it up
did anyone tell you, you should collab with chandler
Just wondering when I'll be able to get an upgrade from my zebronics transformer which is a so called "mechanical keyboard"
Since when does BlueJay (history videos) do tech videos?
You should paint 3 colour
So wait this keyboard ASUS Armoury Crate software is not available for MAC>?????/WTF
Instead of spray painting, maybe one can take it to an automotive shop and ask them to wrap the case.
It will cost a little bit, but there are so many crazy color options and the wrap is completely removable.
I have never wrapped a board before, but I do have my PC case wrapped and it's very nice.
You don't happen to have a pic of your PC somewhere?
i bought a keyboard on temu i was wondering for a video idea get any keyboard on there BUT make it thock to the best of your abilities
@HipyoTech Hey can you get the NX Snow switches just with the white Azoth version?
stock azoth moonlight sound's way better, sorry just being honest here :)
hi mister statue of liberty.
in denmark this board sells for 331,03 American dollar = 2290 DKK 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Can u make those custom keycaps in ISO- Nordic? il buy them right away. Thanks!
you turn a close case design into a floating switch design, blud
yeah but it still ain't wooting tbh
Hi mr statue of liberty
got this board and the spacebar rattle is driving me NUTS. I cant take the stabalizer out because of the foam theve got glued overtop it. anyone know of a way to get around this?
Get Screw ins, like TX or Staebies, it worked with mine. You only need to remove the old ones
