    I love your stat first policy when it comes to pushing to your narrative, but you cant leave out TDs and INTs when evaluating these QBs. If you are truly stat first, then show the whole picture and talk about the whole picture. Not just what proves your point.

    • @Beardownsports

      Caleb Williams 30TD / 5INT / 16 FUM / 3.6% TWP
      Jayden Daniels 40TD / 4 INT / 3 FUM / 1.6% TWP
      Bo Nix 45 TD / 3 INT / 2 FUM / 1.0% TWP
      Did you not know this beforehand, or did you just want to reinforce that Caleb Williams is not the most NFL ready player in this class? I wasn't trying to prove a point, I give analysis... and if you feel like I'm pushing a point, then you just reinforced the point that I was pushing...

      Pat Mahomes threw 29 interceptions in college and was 0-10 against ranked teams. Just using stats to compare quarterbacks is a fool's errand.

    • @Beardownsports
      @Beardownsports  7 месяцев назад +6

      @@kathykorbel1101 Do we just use stats? But you're making it sound like because the stats don't fit the "narrative" with Caleb, then they should be discounted or completely disregarded.
      Everything needs to be taken into context. Not just something because it fits what you want it to fit.

      That’s the only thing that Caleb and mahomes have in common is there losing college ways and same kliffy coach in there ear outside that mahomes and Caleb are not even close!

    • @BaLoNeY-c7k
      @BaLoNeY-c7k 7 месяцев назад

      @@Beardownsports First of, let me say that I really like the show. However, I just want you to give the whole picture and not cherry pick stats that prove your point. That's the whole reason behind knowledge over narrative isn't it? I'm legit not trying to be a jerk here, but you have to be very careful when you talk about stats and don't show the entire picture. TD to INT ratio is an important stat that you seemed to omit. CW TD INT ratio is very impressive. Does that fact disprove your point alone? No it doesn't. So why not talk about it? Also, the info Swifty pointed out the other day showed that you failed to look at 3rd downs, red zone, 4th quarter stats. When one is making a case for or against a QB one would think that those stats would be included as well, would they not? And if not then why not bring it up on the show you both recently had?
      Like I said, I like the show and I definitely want to see more. I know this is a new channel and nobody is perfect. You make a good point when you say that CW is not the most NFL ready, but that point should hold water when compared to the entire picture. If you leave out important information it could be seen as pushing your own narrative, and quite frankly, for good or bad, that's how I took it. Responsibility of the communication falls on the commutator. Take it for a grain of salt it's just my 2 cents for what it's worth 🐻👇

    Finally a host that shows statistical facts. I run through the stats every year for past 20 years on paper old school style. And when I bring it up on chat or other bears sites they bash me too. So keep your head up I listened to the whole thing and a couple of stats off but way better than I just live this guy every thing poles does is magic regurgitation of it. I went in to this year hearing Caleb was generational he is mahomes ,luck, etc.. so I was optimistic ok cool but after reviewing the ncaa all time qb stats, looked at mid ,short, long ,middle accuracy comparison of all QBs (I included every one because I didn’t review Purdy at all last time I get got napping on any QBs lol) Caleb isn’t the best at all I 100% with statistics,eye test, baggage, ego it’s Daniel’s and bo and I didn’t think about it those guys at first he’ll even pennix is on the all time stats list more than Caleb and mahomes is on there a lot to, something after that didn’t set well how is he comparable to them they are 6’2 or taller better took work and don’t hold the ball as long as Caleb does? All facts jack anyway I’m definitely scrolling to your videos first I watch all and never subscribe to any of them but wanted to tell you keep up the fact findings it’s way better than getting loud and saying Caleb is the best and following the hype.

      You trust Poles? Tell me then why did Poles not look into anything when 1) Fields publicly stated that his own coaches were confusing him (twice) nor 2) when he first started staring at open receivers? Shouldn't having to use the #1 draft pick instead of trading it to replace Fields be of Prime Concern to him. Even end his career if he effs it up?
      He had Over A Year to respond to both those things & Did Nothing. He showed Zero Care for Fields while it was his responsibility _TO_ care for him. You could have had a franchise QB, MHJR & an élite o-line & now can only get one of those things *because of Poles.* So you mean you trust him to keep this team down? Then I agree.

    Hey Adam I read a story recently saying Trevor lawrence was the last ‘cant miss’ prospect, and asking if Caleb Williams could be the next Trevor lawrence. Got me thinking would this be a good thing/bad thing. if we have better o line, receivers that Trevor lawrence has had and how Trevor lawrence has actually performed statistically, as I think he had a poor statistics year 1 but then had a pro bowl. It occurred to me that this could be an idea for a new video for you if you were looking for ideas. What impacted Trevor Lawrence’s trajectory with supporting cast and how this compares to what we have etc etc statistically speaking.

    You're not alone as you think Adam. Seems to me the Bears offensive system will determine who they pick, which is why it could be Daniels. If the system shows Caleb Williams doesn't fit as well as Daniels, its no knock on Williams. Ryan Poles said he was focusing on ending the losing cycle like they did with Andy Reid in KC. The Bears are working through all the scenarios, so enjoy the ride! It's going to be a fun draft day!

    Adam - enjoyed the video. I'm a big fan and I tend to agree with most of your opinions. Can you analyze how Caleb, Maye, Jayden and others do at critical times of a game: on 3rd down; in the 4th quarter; with 2 minutes left in a half or game; when down by 8 or less points with less than 5 minutes to play, etc. Those are the money downs...when real QBs show up and ball out. I'm not sold on Caleb one bit. But I'd like to see how he stacks up against the others on measures like this. Thanks in advance.

      It seems like they are good with at least 3 or 4 of the QBs, and it’s going to come down to best overall trade haul. It’s like slicing hairs between them. Some may have perceived higher ceilings but seriously no one can predict that. Same thing with floors. Caleb seems like the highest bust potential. But Bo Nix looks like highest current floor and most NFL ready, since he played the most in that type of offense. He has 5 years of playing, which is experience and lots of in game reps. The Bears found out how invaluable that was when they witnessed Bagent play. He did extremely well at 2 and 2, with far less talent than the current top 5. Bo Nix has a lot more talent and tools than Bagent, so it’s clear he can be a starter. Fastest release time at 2.77 seconds. Super fast at processing. Phil Simms has him rated nearly as talented with arm angles, cross body throws, scrambling, but much better in the pocket than Caleb. Nobody keys in on his arm strength, which he never had to demonstrate much in Oregons offense. But it’s there. Simms says his accuracy is almost too good, and he could relax a bit on throw to open up more throws. Simms has Caleb and Jayden in tier 1a, and Bo in tier 1b, but just slightly under Caleb overall in terms of all the tools. Maybe a slightly less better scrambler, but only by a smidge. He keeps himself out of trouble more than Caleb, does not play hero ball, and moves the chains. Says a lot like a Drew Brees, but maybe more upside. Will win a lot of games for you. Maybe a couple super bowls depending who’s surrounding him. His anticipation, and his throws to the correct shoulder, consistently and keeping his receivers out of harms way are uncanny. His dad was a football coach. He just doesn’t flash all the pizazz of a Caleb. If Bears take him, I predict they are a 12 win team this season. Personally I think he’s way better than Cj stroud or any of the QBs who have come out since Andrew luck. Bears perfect fit for him and also Waldron’s offense. He has that QB build. I think poles biggest challenge is how much can he gamble and drop down to take him. He’s gone if he gets to the Broncos, but broncos might want to trade up a few spots if they can find someone willing. I think he can safely trade down once with the commanders, and maybe one more time with Patriots if they want McCarthy. But that would be it. Poles is going to have a real itchy trigger finger. No other team sent a HC out to his pro day except the Bears, so he’s slightly under the radar. It’s hard to fathom that many other teams are missing this guy. Bears know he does not have the faults of Justin, such as slow to get rid of ball, or inability to read defenses. Maybe not the raw athletic ability, but he will be around the league for years to come. I think Poles knows that they are so close to building up a real strong overall team, and really wants to have about 7 to 9 picks out of this draft to take a major leap with waldrons offense. He may really love Caleb, or Jayden, but so will many other teams, and he is going to find those picks so hard to resist. Think 85 bears mind set, but slight modification. Super strong defence, special teams, decent but maybe not super great offense. Look at what they held other teams to points wise. Few more pieces on defence, especially edge rusher, make them even better. If they could have scored even a touchdown, they had Green Bay beat in second game. Bo Nix and offensive line beefed up with guys like Jackson Powers at center, multiple tight ends, Keenan Allen DJ moore, and on paper they are beating Green Bay and Detroit this season.

    • @toneduncan
      @toneduncan 7 месяцев назад +1

      @specialist-in-tech I agree, Flues showing up alone at his proday was proof that he's got the coaches attention. Usually, teams try to be koy about their sleepers. That was a slick move. The draft is going to bust wide open with trade opportunities if we're patient and stick to our guns. It's also clear that Poles is trusting his OC, their system, and a solid group of play makers instead of trying to make it all happen with just a QB. I am excited to see where it goes from here

    Ugly reality of the NFL today...if you don't have a top 10 QB you will not be winning a Superbowl...that leaves 22 teams completely out of having a chance...there are about 1600+ pro NFL players...and the top 10 QBS are literally the top 10 out of those 1600 players. So teams are going to over draft, over pay, and risk all to get a guy that can be top 10. The Bears hope (pray) Caleb could be a top 10 guy...previous #1 QB picks taken recently...Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield...Joe Burrow is the only top 10 QB in my opinion.

I do many mock drafts and you commented today that most mock draft sites do not have the players listed in the correct order. Do you have a resource that is more accurate, or are you pulling your ranking of the players from multiple sources? You might consider a video showing where one of the popular mock draft sites has some players highly overvalued and others just as highly undervalued. If you have a player's list that ranks them reasonably accurately, I would love to see it. It would greatly help me when doing mock drafts. Thanks, and Bear Down!

    Poles should give Matt Ryan a 1-year contract so the new QB, whoever he is, can sit and learn most of the year if not all of it, or play a quarter here and there without the pressure of having to win all the time. This Bears' rebuild under Poles has mostly been successful, but it is not complete. Right now the Bears are are in a historic situation that they are unlikely to see again anytime soon. Trading with Carolina was a big win for the Bears. Now the Bears have what would have been Carolina's #1 pick as well as the #9 overall pick, which is huge, but only two more picks in this year's draft. As important as QBs are in the NFL, Teams still win championships. No matter what, the Bears are likely to have a better year than last year on the field in 2024 and should be in contention to make the playoffs. That will reduce the level of their 2025 draft picks as things now stand. To me, since the entire Team is most important and since drafting a QB remains a crapshoot, the Bears should trade down from #1 to #2 and possibly from #9 to get more draft picks this year and hopefully another 1st round pick in 2025 (meaning the Bears would once again have 2 first round draft picks in 2025). THIS is how you build a Team. Overly focusing on just one position, albeit an important one, the QB, in the draft too often results in "fool's gold". Assuming the value is there, I say: trade down, pick your top prospect at #2 for draft picks; re-evaluate and decide whether to keep or trade #9; get that 2025 1st; and just build a really solid Team which will pay dividends potentially for several years. I am excited about the Bears' opportunity here!

    I wonder if Chicago has an accurate height on Caleb Williams. Is that the reason?he was in shotgun so much at USC.Patrick Mahomes is causing nightmares for 31 teams. Organizations are searching for a quarterback that make plays like him. Over the past 40 years there has been about 5 or less QB's with the generation tag placed on them entering the NFL draft. Dan Marino, John Elway, Andrew Luck that's all I can come up with, so it's very rare.

    Love your stuff Adam! Regardless of what Poles says, I believe they have made their decision. Is he baiting Wash to move up, etc? or is he stuck on Caleb? IDK. None of us do. But it sure feels like it's Caleb. Scouts have been on him non stop, every week for past 2 years. I think a lot of Caleb's Hero Ball was out of necessity. It was USC's best chance to win. Certainly, that will need to be reeled in at the NFL level. I think you're way too high on Nix. Nothing against the kid, but 1/3 of his PA's were screens. The Oregon Offense is not a pro style offense, though it incorporates some. But projecting a player from college to the NFL is difficult enough. Made moreso when they're projecting a 24yo with 6 years experience vs a 20yo with 2 years ala JJ. Statistical analysis from a non pro system and projecting that into the NFL seems like an exercise in futility. It comes down to his physical tools, mental tools, and the system whoever drafts them runs. Despite all the good he has done, Poles. etc future is riding on this #1 pick. They have to nail it. For me, the most disturbing info leaked was Cronin stating that Kevin Warren negotiated the PIT trade for JF1. That just feels like the same ol Bears. You've got a stud GM, let him cook without meddling. Also, Cronin reported that Poles confirmed in her 1 on 1 with him that Ryan Bates was brought in to be the starting Center, Coleman was signed as b/u. Go watch the snaps Bates took vs the Bears. He was 1 on 1 with Billings and dominated him.

    I think you are with the thought that the bears are taking CW.
    I hear you that you have others that you like more although the bears are probably taking CW.
    As for me I don’t give a rats ass who they take.
    Poles knew all along he was going to trade Justin even when he was hired.
    Poles wants to put his stamp on this team and it shows because there’s only 3 members on the team before he was hired. He’s let go or traded away just about every player that was on the bears when he was hired.
    Fields was a scapegoat pure and simple.
    No O-Line, No Offensive coordinator except a freaking rookie and a #1 receiver in his last season. You’re right when you say Poles says the truth and also lies.
    Poles screwed over Justin and he was running for his life for the better part of his tenure on the bears.
    I’ve been a bears fan since the 60’s.
    Watched how they never cared about development of a quarterback or protection for a quarterback. Maybe a few years in the 80’s during the Super Bowl era but not much else unless they ran the ball.
    So looking at my tenure as a bears fan I feel like I’ve been traded from the bears to the Steelers and their 6 not 1 but 6 Super Bowls and a coach who’s one of the Top 3 in the NFL. Tomlin is a fantastic coach and I have No Doubt that Fields will eventually be the starter.
    I had season tickets for 25 years and gave them to my brother. Yes I was a Ra Ra die hard

      Since I've made this video, I'm even more convinced he's the absolute worst thing that could ever happen to the Bears.

    Stop this nonsense. We passed on Mahomes. Chicago, as a city, deserves to lose its franchise if we pass on the next reported sure thing. You take the chance.

      Maye to me is like the point guard who can't make a layup. I just can't convince myself that his accuracy issues are worth betting on
