@@tannerrennat7786 Technically there sorta kinda is a third in the overall Naval Ops series, but it's a direct sequel to Naval Ops Commander in terms of gameplay (even though it *looks* like it was released in the 90s). It's called _Kurogane No Houkou 3: Warship Commander_ . As you can probably tell it was only ever released in Japan on PC.

So the plot is Axis Leaders going back in time and using their knowledge to prevent the events that have led to their defeat, making the war longer.
Apparently it is the authors ideology to bring Japan out in a good way for this anime because it is the main focus in this anime.
What about Allies doing the same?
It would certainly mess up the timeline in a way they wouldn't expect and that's what is interesting, the unknown.

This is Konpeki no Kantai, which is a fictional, Alternative WWII series where several major axis figures travel back in time before WWII, and use their knowledge to change history.
The anime is pretty entertaining, but underneath that is an ugly revisionist reactionary ideology that seeks to absolve Japan of the responsibility for much of WWII. There has been a growing trend of mange and anime seeking to do this since the 1990s. Not all of them focus upon WWII, but all of them seek to frame Japan as being more of a "hero" than it was or is, and pressure Japan to again take up Imperial Ambitions. GATE is a good example, although it is more subtle than most, like Zipang, or Konpeki no Kantai.
