- Hello everyone! I have been making these roll on perfume oils for several years now. They are a very popular item and are a little more natural than your traditional perfume spray. With the gifting season coming up quick, I thought it would be the perfect time to share this tutorial with you. This is a super easy project and the result is stunning. Do you know if I use just use essential oils with fractionated coconut oil if the roses would decompose and the smell would overpower the smell of the essential oils? I was also curious with your experience with an aprox expiraton date? They are beautiful rollers.

Thank you. The dry rose petals do have a slight scent but that is not what makes this perfume smell strong, it is the fragrance oil that makes it smell pretty.

I know anhydrous products don't normally require a preservative, but what about when you start adding botanicals? Especially if someone decides to go outside and pick some dandelions (or whatever) from their yard, dry them out on the windowsill (and not decrease the moisture content enough), and bottle them up? Would you use a preservative in this scenario? If so, which type or what properties would you look for? Thank you! I enjoy watching your videos & the way you share your knowledge.
Yes. You need to protect yourself and your customers if you are adding "things" to your oils. Note, if you're using roller balls, your dead skin gets inside the bottle, via the roller. When I first became a rep for an EO company (which I am not anymore) Making roller bottles with EO and FCO was THE THING - Til I saw those floaties (dry skin) inside of them. Google this: "Walmart Recalls Better Homes and Gardens Essential Oil Infused Aromatherapy Room Spray with Gemstones Due to Rare and Dangerous Bacteria; Bacteria Identified in this Outbreak Linked to Two Deaths"

Hi Selena, in my formulas I always list percentages so you can scale up or down as you like.

Um like years. I’ve had these type of oils and they stay in tact even after I think the oils may be good

Any light weight carrier oil would work. Squalane is super fast absorbing and light weight.

It all depends on what fragrance oil you use and where you get it from. Each fragrance is different. You have to go by the guidelines so wherever you purchase you scents from they should have a chart.
