Love it. I have a few old recurves. I've taken a great majority of my deer with my Bear Montana longbow. That dude is beat all to hell, but is tough as nails. I had to go back to a recurve because my bad elbow couldn't take the hand shock from so much shooting that I do. My go to now is a Bear Kodiak Magnum my family surprised me with when I retired. Of course, the gift is my most cherished bow.
Love that! A great bow, received as a gift, and as a gift for retirement! Outstanding.
It’s amazing how picking up one of your earlier bows can take you right back to that time. Thanks for the video.
sure is. Like a trip down memory lane.
My word Starlight Archery. Where it all started for me in like 1978ish? I remember a wonderful lady that’d help me there a lot. That recurve must feel smooth after your longbow hours and hours.
Loved starlight! Great people! The recurve felt so springy. Squshy like. was so different than my longbows.
Thanks for sharing Jason I enjoy pulling some of my older bows out and flinging a few as well like you said brings back a lot of memories
Sure is a great trip down memory lane
Excellent Jason. I still have My Wing, And Ben Pearson From back in the Day. You get a new String on it, You should try and Get a Hog with...That would be a Cool Video
Was fun to shoot. But I'd rather hunt with my longbow
My first was a Ben Pearson Cougar recurve.
If memory serves me correctly. Thats 1978 now
love those old pearson bows.
Would be cool to do a series on setting it up and taking it out to get a big game “after 30 years” and also simulate an old bow a guy could possibly pick up at a garage sale or something for cheap and go hunt with. Thanks
Agree it would be cool to hunt with it. But I dont think Im gonna. I wont have the confidence I have with my longbow. But the bow shoots like a dream.
@@tradbowpodcast I get it, however it looked like you were shooting pretty decently with it! Thanks for all your videos. They’re great.
I’m putting it down…one more group lol, love it
Was hard to put down for sure!
Back it on up!!!
You hittin it at 22 let’s get 30! Love this stuff.
I would of just put all of them in the 12 ring at 30 yards too. didnt want to bore you guys with all that..😂😂😂
Very cool Jason, enjoyed watching
Thanks
30 years! It seems like is but a sunset away :)
Flies by fast
This video made me smile brother. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us. I hope you have a blessed week brother.
Dale
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopw you have a blessed week as well.
Jason the mamba is a great bow
Sure is. Will never sell it.
Have you thought about bringing it out on a hunt for a deer once just to say its got a big game animals
I chased animals for 3 years harder than I ever have in my life with that bow. I sure do love it. But I failed it during the time I hunted with it. Wouldn't be right to take it out now thst I know how to hunt..😂
@@tradbowpodcast yeah I get that for sure
"Not too bad" shoot a supersonic rocket right in the Perfect ring, 30 years old still shoot i see
It's a sweet little bow!
Sweet lil’ shooter 👍🏹😎
God Bless Y’all 🙏😇❤️🇺🇸
Why haven't we heard from Vaughn? Kinda of topic, but I watch you and a bunch of other trad guys.
@@timhatfield6367 not since I texted him at Easter. I know he said he’s been busy and he loves to fish as well. I hope it’s just one of his breaks that he’s taken in the past.
@anthonyforfare7223 Thanks.
Was kinda worried, I guess.
Recognized your name in the comments. Would like you to make me a couple strings sometime.
I think he put a link for you not to far back.
Thanks! God Bless You as well.
Ok I subscribe!
No really, love the input on trad shooting.
I still use my Sky Trophy Longbow I bought used in 93.
Its the bow I compare to if I shoot a different one.
I've had many successful hunts with it.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the vids. Those old sky bows were outstanding.
Itll still send it
I was just waiting for the string to break😂
I know it’s your first I guess but I think you should give it to someone .they would use it
Good idea. But nope I'm keeping it
Lol
@@tradbowpodcast I know just messing with you
Take that bow to the swamp and get a pig with it!
maybe after I get a few more hogs in the freezer. only got 3 so far this year and freezer is laughing at me.
