JJ, can you please do a video on Bodo Glimt. Only 2 teams have really battered Celtic so far this year. One was Bayer Leverkusen, which makes sense as they have some amazing players. The other was Bodo Glimt. In a way that was more disappointing as I actually thought we had better players than them and they won due to superior tactics. They also famously battered Mourinho's Roma. What are they doing right?
If I’m being honest, bodo/glimt were harder opponents than Leverkusen, Though we got beat 4-0 at home we were actually in the game and had opportunities, the score line was very inflated. Bodo actually kept us to very little opportunities
Bodo simply played counter-attacks around the flanks of the celtic defence, which was always going to happen imo. The Bodo coach said he watched Celtic videos and looked for weaknesses. Celtic's main weakness was the inability of the wide defenders to cover their positions and the low defensive running capability of the midfield and overall physical presence. It was sucker punch stuff. Tactics customised to expose the opponent's weak points and negate their strengths. I think there is still a weakness especially on the left and midfield. I rate recruitment as Ange's greatest success.
In fairness Leverkusen battered us about a month into the season - we played them in Germany only a month later but the time on the training pitch and improvement in performance was actually referenced BEFORE the game by the Bayer manager and indeed we played very well losing by a goal but leading until relatively late on. Not much was known in Scotland about the guy before he arrived, in fact there was a collective shrug and a bit of anger from some fans. The guy's showed his class though and really turned them around as they had been outclassed by Gerrard and Rangers.
While Gerrard did have an admirable knack for winning old firm matches even when Celtic were otherwise unassailable, it did take a complete internal collapse at Parkhead before Rangers could win the league. Celtic were very much thumped by Rangers last season, but it might be more accurate to say this was due to a huge deterioration in form at Celtic rather than a massive increase in quality at Rangers. As has been seen this year, once Celtic got back up to form everything evened out again 😊
@@liammccabe05 I'll take the middle ground with this one being a neutral 😊. Celtic were in bad shape under Lennon, surprised me as they'd a lot of success and brilliant European nights with him before, and Gerrard made Rangers solid, bought well, were attacking and took full advantage of Celtics slump. I've just read that back... I'm in complete agreement with ye actually 😁
@@Zakoid1 I tend to try and take the reasonable middle ground despite my bias (much to the chagrin of my more dogmatic father) so its personally affirming that a neutral agrees with my take 😂 But you are correct on that point, for Rangers to capitalise they had to be on an even keel. It took Gerrard years of hard work to get there, but an even keel is all it was; Celtic's collapse flattered them. If Rangers performed below their average last year they would still most likely have won the league comfortably.
Ange used to manage Melbourne Victory for a while, which is the club I support. I never attend any games while he was there because I was overseas, but it's good to see him doing well.
Victory supporter here. Ange put in a lot of the groundwork for Muscat. He also presumably put a good word in for him at Yokohama. Haven’t heard much of Muscat’s progress, but Yokohama seem to have gone okay under Muscat since Ange left judging by standings.
Hi jj, could you explain me what happend to caglar soyuncu since He moved from Freiburg to leicester it seemed like He was doing the steps to becoming a really great defender I watched a couple of games with the turkish national Team also and He was so good ( in EM Qualifikation) like he was cpnstantly moving imagine him receiving or recovering the Ball making a good pass and immiadately searching for free space plus he was good at like everything long balls one on ones in the air and now He seems to have a Bad time in the pl and in the national Team since quite a while. My question is is it just a Bad time or was He never going to be one of the better defenders in the Premier League in the first way?
Does a free kick wall make sense? Hear me out! This question could be mentioned in your “the tifo football show”-series. The wall hinders the goalkeeper’s sight and he has to position himself worse. Plus, in our German Sunday League training sessions, we stick to the so-called “Gesetzte” (german for “placed ones”). In this exercise, every player places his ball in a given distance (~20 meters) and one after another shoots on the goal. Even though there’s no wall, only 4 out of 20 players succeed to shoot a goal. The exercise is close to a free kick without wall yet nobody delivers. So, where’s the point in setting free kick walls?
If you want an answer copy and paste this comment underneath the last Football show . They don’t grab comments from any and every video as far as I know
I think possibly yes. He'll be on team's radar now at the very least, although he may have to do something in Europe to become a real target. Having said that, winning the treble in his first season when everybody thought a massive rebuilding year was in store would be a hugely impressive feat, and Premier League sides also needing to rebuild may find that attractive.
I hope one day when Ange is old he can come back to Australia to coach us at another world cup but with proper players for his system. Hopefully one day lol

@@Zakoid1 I tend to try and take the reasonable middle ground despite my bias (much to the chagrin of my more dogmatic father) so its personally affirming that a neutral agrees with my take 😂
But you are correct on that point, for Rangers to capitalise they had to be on an even keel. It took Gerrard years of hard work to get there, but an even keel is all it was; Celtic's collapse flattered them. If Rangers performed below their average last year they would still most likely have won the league comfortably.
you should do a video on what positions score more goals as a % since the lack of conventional strikers in top premier league teams
Background music killing it
And finally the video I've been waiting for 💚
Ange used to manage Melbourne Victory for a while, which is the club I support.
@@glennmaillard5972 Yokohama came second last season, but Ange has since poached their star striker so this season might be slightly tougher.
@@lzl4226 True. But I think they’re sitting second this season as well. 👍
My question is is it just a Bad time or was He never going to be one of the better defenders in the Premier League in the first way?
superbly explained
Ang is killing it at the moment I can see him coaching in the Premier League possibly a team like Brighton
God I hope not.
Ange better than that..
that was really interesting, thank you, i too live watching Celtic under Ange 🇦🇺✌🏻. Exciting stuff
They don’t grab comments from any and every video as far as I know
@@karmaascendant3936 thanks mate, already did per instinct
Ball possesion coach Respect
I would love a follow up video to this one of Ange’s second season and how it has compared 😎🏆💚🍀
Great intelligent analysis. As a Gers supporter we need a snakes and ladder board. All dicey! Do one on the Rangers failings.
Hi love the videos! What is the application you use to breakdown the formations?
Hey we are Celtic Glasgow we are. Going to be in the History of 2023
0:30 As a Hibs fan this graphic hurts.
Love me some Angeball
Hopefully he could do what Strachan and Lennon and get them through a champions League group stage
Hello, Tifo. Like the videos, I wonder if you could do more videos like these but from the defensive point of view. 👍🏼
Could we see postecoglu move to the premier league in the future?
I think possibly yes. He'll be on team's radar now at the very least, although he may have to do something in Europe to become a real target. Having said that, winning the treble in his first season when everybody thought a massive rebuilding year was in store would be a hugely impressive feat, and Premier League sides also needing to rebuild may find that attractive.
Yes. If Jesse Marsch managed to move there, He could.
Van Bronkhorst furiously writing down notes watching this.
Thanks for thism
That ppda stat is just outrageous lmao
Thumbnail JJ looks like he's about to keel over.
Ange big challenge is a head as he heads Tottenham in the toughest league.😮
Jota was a summer signing 👍
do a video on how bad Dortmund are with their big names from 10 years ago and slow build up play
What happened to the previous thumbnail?
COYS
Jota arrived in the summer, not the winter

Glasgow Celtic - Treble winners 2021/22 😎😎😎
I hope one day when Ange is old he can come back to Australia to coach us at another world cup but with proper players for his system. Hopefully one day lol
Fix is a bit of a stretch because it's not the first time a Celtic side look different after fresh managerial changes. Wait until a few seasons and transfer windows to decide whether they've actually changed or not.
