John Paul Jones KILLS it with that Bass Line!
JPJ man, one of the best.
My favorite bass track.#1
Best Comment Award to Neil...Right on...
Agreed
Damn Straight! 😎🤘
Brad's a straight up statue. All that talk about "squeezing 'till the juice runs down my leg" and he don't move a muscle or change his facial expression. He'd be legendary at poker.
I wouldn’t want to play against him untilI figured out his tell.
Oh I saw a little brow furrow going on at that part. :D
LOL, best comment of the day!
Hey Rubicon 183 , that's a good one .. lex is all about feeling , she knows a classic tune right away. Brad is lost in space .. more in the vein of Forrest Gump . They compliment each it works , it actually works .
Or as the "straight man" in a comedy duo.
I swear, Lex is a gift to the world with her expressiveness. Her outlook is so unique and full of life. Brad, you're one lucky man, she's a treasure. Love the two of your reactions. Peace and love.
They're brother and sister
@@low-keyautummn5940 Wow, and I thought they were "connected" in some way. Still, I'd better refrain from telling her what I REALLY feel, lest I get myself in trouble 😁. I'm too old, she's too young, but damn is she a sweet woman.
Totally agree with you there, buddy 😊👍😎 !!!
@@low-keyautummn5940 no they aren't. They've been a couple for 12 years. Anyone who's watched enough of their videos knows that. Plus they've spoken about each other's parents multiple times.
@@StevesFunhousethey are a couple. Low-key is wrong.
This song was recorded in one take, LZ was just fiddling around in the studio. It’s heavily influenced by the song “Killing Floor” by Howlin’ Wolf and the line squeeze (my lemon) till the juice runs down my leg," can be traced to Robert Johnson's "Travelling Riverside Blues"from 1937.
Truth
and the Howlin' Wolf recording is still a good 'un too, with, I think, a young Buddy Guy on guitar.
@@nickcrisp7252 really… that I didn’t know, that’s awesome.
@@nickcrisp7252 just read Buddy Guy is on acoustic.
@@nickcrisp7252 Buddy Guy is on acoustic, but the electric guitar is the legendary Hubert Sumlin
The bass in that song is incredible.
The whole band kills it on this but John Paul Jones's bass lines are magnificent.
John Paul Jones at his best.
JPJ steals the song. Page almost complements the bass line at times here.
An absolutely filthy groove. Perfect JPJ. I put Jack Bruce's bass work from the live version of Crossroads on Strange Brew as my next favorite from around that era, although it's played in a completely mood. Obviously, there are other faboulous artists' works, but those two just stick out for me.
i love that Lex was so wrapped up in the music, she had no idea what the song was lyrically about LOLher reaction at that moment...priceless!
And then, they both got it completely wrong!
This is not just a classic, but maybe the sickest bassline ever recorded in rock n roll. John Paul is on fiya!
It's all I can hear, every time.
Massive facts being spoken right here
My mom got suspended from her College radio station for a week because she playing this song on air in 1972. We have come a long way for what is considered shocking and what isn’t
You can say that again friend.
Actually, I think young people are allot more prudish than we were in the 70’s. I see young reactors totally shocked that Plant’s “junk” is showing through his tight jeans. It’s not cool to be hyper masculine anymore. Hell, we girls LOVED seeing that back in the day. The girls who were into rock that is. 😁🤘
Some of the FUNKIEST BASS GROOVES EVER!!! Along with that steady beat!!! Just a BADASS JAM!!!
JPJ is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ya, this was some of John Paul Jones' best bass work.
John Paul Jones, the most underappreciated member, but honestly the most musically talented member. Led Zep would never have been without all 4, and I think they're the greatest ever, buy JPJ kills it!!!!!
Lex just gets Led Zeppelin the greatest rock band ever...she grooves to it just right! Go Lex!!
Iv never seen a person in sinc with this band as she are, amasing
Dump this dude. He’s braindead and has no soul if you can’t feel this masterpiece
Lex gets it! “Tangy” and “Zesty” like a lemon. the lemon song 🍋
Did you hear the ZEST ???..........heh, heh
@@carlmichaelbryan1473 Yes the song is definitely about lemon zest, Everytime i hear it, I think about muffin recipes? 🙃
Lex is so cute!
🗺️🕊️💞🎶!-kimS
Brad: "I don't like zest." ROFL!!!! So good. You guys make my day. Thanks!
Gotta love a girl that loves tangy. Brad count ur blessings my brother. And lighten up just a bit...the competition is over sir and u won. Lex is ur prize...just enjoy the music and enjoy her enjoying the music. Appreciate every moment u have that u can share her smile with her. We are not promised another day, hour, minute or second so cherish them all. This coming from an old guy that doesnt know everything but does know something. You both seem to have really good and genuine hearts and I appreciate that. Hugs to u both.
John Paul Jones bass lines are groovy
I love the Way John Paul Jones plays his Bass Guitar on this song
I love it when Lex is so lost in the music, that an "ooh" will pop out nearly every transition. Or when she gets a wide eyed look of approval or appreciation to a different type of sound she was surprised by or maybe unfamiliar with. Being so into the music, when Brad explained the lyrics to her at the end, her reaction was classic, adorable Lex!
The bass line is sick!
The notes Jimmy is playing during the squeezing section always makes me giggle 😜✌️🇬🇧
Yes I still feel a dribble myself. After all these years.
It definitely didn’t seem like Lex was listening to the words with her description of the lemon lol but her reaction at the end when she realized what this song was actually about was priceless😂
It is pretty zesty
John Paul Jones is checking fools off his list on this one.
Epic comment...He's so dam good...
LMFAO at Lex's reaction when Brad clued her in. ..Priceless!
Lex: Sounds "tangy"
Brad: I believe you. I trust your analysis. I just don't understand it.
Every Zep fan: WE DO! 🍋
Its Washing Machines hes refering to.
made me laugh so hard
50+ years of this and I still have yet to see another man as talented as JPJ.
That groove, man.
" I don't know " sums Brad up perfectly.
Lex is enjoying Led Zep enough for both of them, just as well lol, full-on stink face and feeling every note through her body. C'mon Brad mate, surely you can feel it!
No he doesn't .
I call Brad Spock
Jonesy is killing it on this tune!
Tangy, zesty & citrusy? Guess that’s why it’s the lemon song. 🤣
Lex was right into that blues
Lex is the zest and Brad is all meat and potatoes. LOL. But by the sour look on his face it certainly looked like he got the zest. I gotta say, I don't know which I like better, Brads confusion or Lex's descriptions of the song.
Both belong together love them both. But Brad needs to relax. Lmao.
I’m now looking at this song in a whole new light: zestly lemon zest! I think I like Lex’s version best!
@@homerwimberly8693 no better tenderizer than citrus
Exactly :D ...they are priceless in their reactions!! Honest too!!
WTF is he doing reacting to music that requires the full spectrum of human emotion?
Emphasis on spectrum.
It Takes A Certain Zone To Rock On To A Variety of Songs. If You Like Blues Rock Or Just To Get Your Groove On Then Led Zeppelin Is One Of Those Bands To Chill With. I Love 60s 70s and 80s. Still Here in 2023. 😊
One of the great take aways from this song is you get to hear just how incredible John Paul Jones is on bass. All of them are great musicians, he really shines on the Lemon Song.
Love watching Lex react to Zeppelin… she gets it, she feels it. She knows what’s up.
Lexie made me understand what "leaving my children on the killing floor" means. Man, Lexie, you are quick minded !
Her response to “I don’t like the zest” “Well, okayyy...” was priceless, she’s fun
"It was like, tangy"... I nearly fell off my chair... hilarious!
🤣🤣🤣👍
If you liked this, check out Led Zeppelin "Gallows Pole."
This is like three distinct songs in one! The more the merrier!!!
The way she "Squeeze" My "Lemon", Till the "Juice" ran down "My Leg". As Ted Nugent once quoted, Sex ,Drugs an Rock & Roll!! Being 66 now , the only thing that's changed is , FM to Pandora with no Commercial Interruption!
okay I have been watching these reactions for the last hour and I have to say Lex is AMAZING. The way she can perfectly articulate the feel of a song....I have never seen anything like it. I dont know her background or if she has any musical history but her ear is amazing. Honestly she should be a talent scout because I am sure she could listen to a band once and tell if they were going to be great or not.
Check out "No Quarter," from "House of the Holy." My boyfriend is a huge fan, and this is his favorite song. He asked me to type this lol. And I concur. Great song 🎵
The live version is a favorite of mine also.
Your BF needs to listen to this version of No Quarter..
ruclips.net/video/WD8hJ-awjBc/видео.html
@@Theutus2 we listened to it together after you posted. Thanks!
One of their best and despite the live one being great, when it comes to Zep their studio songs are often better to pick-up in all their subtleties.
Watching Lex reacting to Zep you can see she gets them.
The 4 greatest musicians to come together IMO.
Zest and tangy are the perfect descriptions for how this song sounds. You two are the perfect juxtaposition to each other. It's fabulous. :D
It's so fun watching you two - you're like the two halves of my brain split into different bodies...🤣
Thank you for saying that! I feel less alone now. I am someone who deeply feels the instrumentation and rhythms of a song but also think the lyrics are equally important and complete the feel of the song. Doesn't mean I catch everything the first time I hear a song, but it also doesn't mean I'm not paying attention to the lyrics and feeling the melody at the same time either. People will attack in the comments, saying it's impossible to do both at the same time because of the way the brain works.
You guys should react to…
Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
🎸🤘
Lex, whilst you're in "the citrus mood", you'd better make sure the next Zeppelin song you listen to is "Tangerine"! 😉
Yes and maybe some Custard Pie as well 😎
Amazing song, so F'in chill, such a VIBE!
"Tangy" is the best description I've ever heard for this song.
Lex, you are an absolute treasure when it comes to explaining the songs! Please don't ever change!!
I can hear that base guitar all day long, what greatness. I dig Led Zeppelin and Brad & Lex.
His first mind isn't the one on his shoulders, thus the trouble he finds himself in!
"I felt the vibe of the lemon". You kill me, Lex. That's awesome. Love it.
Heartbreaker is the Greatest LZ song ever. Still get chills every time I hear it.🎸
Lex is a freakin joy to watch and listen to! I love Led Zeppelin. I love them even more watching her react to them.
Brads reaction throughout this video was exactly what you'd expect if left in a room watching Lex alone with Robert Plant.
Lolz 😂
Came here for the stank face and lex delivered
What a great couple! The best reactioners (if that’s even a word!) on RUclips. I love them. Brad you seem a guy I’d love to just chat to
about what music means to you. You have a thoughtful approach to your new introductions to these fresh musical revelations. Very cerebral, very open to trying to understand what’s being conveyed in these musical idioms. Good man, I hope you get to appreciate some of the greatness that has been created for us all to enjoy. As for Lex! Well what can I say? If Brad is the head then Lex is the heart. Young lady you bring the young man out of me! I love your reaction and your feel for this music. It’s what we should all feel, all groove to and just ride the moment as the music washes over us. Music offers salvation, understanding, opportunities to commune with like minded souls and a pinhole to see how beautiful the world can be. I wish you both contentment in what you have.
Lex is the personification of cuteness and joy
Reactors?
Lex GETS IT. And I just gotta say that the bass always blows me away in this song
The album this is from, Led Zeppelin II, is one of those albums that you just put on, grab a refreshment, lay back, close your eyes, and let it play in its entirety. I would LOVE for you to react to Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" off of this same album. It has one of the best drum solos of all time.
I love Lex's comments. She always comes in from left field and then you sit there and say to yourself, "that makes sense.".
Oh man, ain't it great to see the young folks fall in love with Led Zep! You see, we were right about good music :)
And that's the tangy zestiness of BLUES you hear right there! And that's another mega rabbit hole to disappear down. Took me years to resurface from that one! Brad, take her word for it, she's right :)
Think I'm gonna have to invest in Lex's cookbook, she made me hungry lol.
This is one of several songs in which Zeppelin is giving a 'nod and a wink' to the musician who most influenced them - Robert Johnson, the most influential musician ever.
Zepp has that creative groove. "Straight up rock" with a "slice of comical" . And that's what I like about Van Halen too!! Timeless great shtuff!!
One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs…bass line is incredible!! I absolutely love Lex’s reactions and this one was priceless!! Brad, you have a gem! She is adorable! Lucky man you are my friend. CC
Hey Brad, go back and check the lyrics. Pretty sure their was a second party involved, bro 🤣 That rhythm section just KILLING on this track though!
One of the best of led zeppelin tunes of all time..and it's over 50 years old...4 britts from across the pond who admired and respected the blues greats our country had to offer..stunning tribute with a hard rock twist...pure magic
Led Zeppelin still the most important Rock Band in History.
All stars in their respective lanes! The GOAT of rock-blues.
Brad: the perfect intelectual straight man...music must have meaning, what do these lyrics say?...
Lex: the perfect empath...music must have a rhythm and feeling
Also Brad: this song had groove? Cool...
Also Lex: this song had lyrics? Cool
You guys are awesome, keep up that learning curve...love you guys❤😬
I've never heard the juice called zest before ! 🤣✌️🇬🇧
Lex is such a rocker!!! She totally grooves and feels the music. Brad looks like always - searching for the meaning of life.
1. Brad doesn't understand it
2. Brad doesn't get it
3. Brad is confused
It's always one of the 3.
Lex, you're colorful and full of life. Enjoy it
Not only is this a great song but it also has a wonderful recipe for lemonade!
You can never react to too much Zeppelin.
"I felt the vibe of the lemon."
Yes!
YEEEEEEESSS..."Tangy" was an EXCELLENT description of this delicious gem!!!
Tangy 😆 like citrus!!
🍋 the lemon song...
Perfect analogy !
Even though Brad doesn't always get it, he keeps trying. A+ for effort.
On this occasion, at the end of the video, I think it's Brad who gets it and has to explain it to Lex because she wasn't listening to the lyrics!!!
@@alanskidadomdom3748 They are polar opposites, that's why I enjoy their reactions. Brad is a lyrics man, Lex feels the music more acutely. I've been listening to Zepellin for 15 years, I know every riff, lick, drum beat to my core, but I still have no idea what Plant is singing about, despite hearing the songs thousands of times.
@@loganjukes8820 For someone who knows every riff, lick, and drum beat to you core, it's surprising that you don't even know how to spell the bands name. It's Led Zeppelin**** not Led Zepellin.
I've said it before. Brad gets it later because Lex does now.
@@alanskidadomdom3748 Lex gets it. Most music isn't about what EXACTLY the lyrics mean. It's about how it makes you feel.
Minutes of philosophical exposition by Lexi... and Brad was the one who cut right to the point of the song that she missed. LMAO
The song is pure sex. She reacted to it without knowing it. That’s the power of music.
The dynamic between Brad and Lex is perfect.
Actually, like so many early Zeppelin songs, it didn't mean anything. It was a mishmash of lyrics lifted from earlier bluesmen overlaid onto blues-rock guitar-scapes created by Jimmy Page with the rhythmic backing of Bonham and Jones. But it sounds great!
John Paul Jones tears this one apart! Dominant seventh chords do carry a certain zest.
I love how Lex describes this a "tangy" and "like citrus" before the lemon lyrics when arrive!
OMG LEX you are so precious!!!!! Lex, you get it, and I love that about you! I enjoy watching you discover the magic of Led Zeppelin. I've been listening to them all my life and I still vibe out to the songs. Keep listening and stay in the Groove.....
Damm, this is a deep cut. I haven't heard this song in like 30 years.
If you guys liked Kasmir back when you listened to it, I'd honestly recommend Achilles Last Stand.... it's such an incredible song and probably one of LZ's best in general (imo)
Yes!!
@@juliemanarin4127 Like either the live Knebworth version or the recorded version are both great options
I think it definitely has the most guitar tracks... 😳
Talk about FEELS. Achilles Last Stand transports me every time. (I realize TRANSPORT is a transitive verb, but I can’t say WHERE it takes me … but it just does). Sigh. ♥️
@@shellyshinju6963 I like your dedication to the accuracy of your grammar
I love that she just gets it. This level of brilliance is universal. 8 )
One of the Kickingest bass lines EVER!! JPJ is an absolute legend 🎸
Can never go wrong with Zeppelin. 🤘
Great stream last night! I think I enjoyed the after-stream food discussion more than the music reactions though. I even fired up the grill at 2am and made some burgers. 🍔🥓🌶🍍
Agree! That was fun.
This was a good choice...Brad probably liked the bass...
He didn't even hear it to me.!!!
Somebody wake this guy up. This is "The Lemon song."
thats that zeppelin affect, pausing it halfway thru the song
Traveling Riverside blues is another great tune by them
This one was simpler than American Pie to interpret.
Guys, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do Led Zeppelin - You Shook Me. It's the most soulful, coolest song by Zep in my opinion. It's so so so good.
Blues , rock and a funky bass line all in one killer tune.
Lyrics don't mean anything, it was a blues jam he filled in with roots blues well known lines. "Killing floor" is a
very famous one. Lemon is another.
John Paul Jones one of the most underrated bass players
Not underrated at all
@@gnomeofwar yeah, I agree. Anyone that knows music, knows JPJ and his bass and his unbelievable organ playing. Not underrated all all.
Yo you guys crack me up. Love the analogies from Lex and Brad is always real with it.
Tangy lemons lol nailed it again Lex. She's a darl. Look after her mate she a treasure .
Love your reactions so much, always Lex!! Brad is so lucky!!
We really set you up this time! I squealed in anticipation when this won its poll and focused on Brad's stoicism as the seminal lyric neared. Well played, sir! Love you guys!
“The way you squeeze my lemon, I’m gonna fall right out of bed!”- 🤣😂🤣😂
Watching Lex "Chair Dance" through these classics makes it worth viewing your vids. She just dives in and enjoys the sway of the track. Brad takes a far more critical view which I appreciate as well. Love watching you two reliving my first exposure to Rock Music's greatest triumphs. Subscribed and will continue to watch.
