Examples included such rules as you better not show up to gym without your jock strap, whispering in study hall, stopping at your locker to pick up a much-needed book outside of the allowed timeframe, being late for class, chewing gum in class, etc. The school official would require you to go down to the office to procure the dreaded paddle, a leather strap, or worse of all, the wooden paddle with holes drilled into to it. You were taken out into to hallway by the official, with another official standing as the witness. The swats were very loud and echoed throughout the hallways for the other classrooms to hear. With more minor infractions, there were always the afterschool detentions. Such discipline faded away from the schools during subsequent decades. It seems we always walked around in fear. In retrospect, perhaps some of it was not that bad in corralling young people and keeping them in line.

I don't know if it's an age thing but I think men underestimate just how much we want WHEN we are happy. It's just that often, we are not happy due to a myriad of reasons...most often of which is a partner who no longer cares. That's part of why I have come to embrace this style of relationship. Hubby stays happy and ready...i stay happy and ready. It's really win/win. I could not imagine a s*xless marriage.
