    My niche question is. I have an LED day time running lights in my car already but the turn signal is halogen and it turns on- on a different place from the day time running lights. I would like to keep the daytime running lights that’s already in the car however, I’d like to have an LED turn signal that replaces the day time running lights when u turn it on. Most new cars have that now. How would u do it?

      Do you mean you want the drl to go off once the turn signal goes on?

      We weren't sure if ours would work either, but we tried it and it did. Worst that can happen is you just return it to Amazon

    I don't understand something here - how does the light know that it should shine on white LED lights without turning on anything in the car? Well, it's a bit like, you know, I have an older car that didn't originally have factory LED daytime running lights installed and I'm wondering if if such I would connect something to my car. Well, it is known that if I don't have the lights on, then the LED ones won't glow white either, they will only stay yellow when I turn on the turn signal, that's why I'm interested. How does it work at all? Or does it just work after... connecting how it works?

      Hi, our drl switch is actually on the turn signal stalk. We weren't sure if ours would work either, but we tried it and it did. Worst that can happen is you'll just return it to Amazon.

      In the USA, many cars have a combined setup where the indicators and parking lights use the same bulb. When you replace these with LED bulbs that function as shown in the video, the parking lights can effectively serve as daytime running lights (DRLs). This is a common modification and aligns with the way some modern vehicles are designed, where the DRLs automatically switch off when the low beams are turned on.
      In Europe, however, the setup is different. Indicators are dedicated to their signaling function and do not share bulbs with parking lights. If you wish to install DRLs in a European car, you need to run an extra 12V power supply from the fuse box. This setup often requires the use of a relay, ensuring that the DRLs switch off when the low beam headlights are active. This arrangement complies with European regulations, which typically mandate that DRLs must not interfere with the operation of other lights and must switch off when low beams are used.

    Does it work even if your halogen bulb has single filament ?
    For example, the indicator blubs only have one filament and they remain switched off when not in use.. so will this still work ? How will it get power ?

    • @installsandpitfalls
      @installsandpitfalls  10 месяцев назад

      My bulbs were single filament just like yours, I don't know the magic involved but they definitely work.

    How does this work, my default indicator light only comes on when i flip the switch, how will it get the power to stay on?

      I'm not sure of the mechanism that makes it function correctly, we have a LE and it works perfectly. Worst thing that could happen is you try it and have to return it, but it works great for us.

    Is it safe to use the turn signal light sinto DRL? I mean if the turns signal is on all the time the driver in front might get confused, although It will change color and blink, it's a possibility

    • @installsandpitfalls
      @installsandpitfalls  Год назад

      Thanks for the question, we haven't had any issues with it and as far as we know it hasn't caused any confusion. Signaling is far more noticeable with these than the oem bulbs and having DRL seems way safer during the day.
