I'm hearing this piece from different interpreters the whole day and this is my favorite. To be able to be in the choir without amplification and still be heard so powerfully is a tribute to your voice.
This is excellent Valerie! This is the closest and best solo to the original I found online. This is one of my favorites by Rachmaninov. I pray more people hear and appreciate Rachmaninovs work. He is a legend.
Like the song of the saints sung by angels. They let down their wings in the midst of the heavens and the army of God sings to thy lord God almighty while in the firmament of God Jesus is praised in holiness.Even holiness I thy womb is the lamps burning before the throne.Mary's grace is shown in honour of grace and the supplications of grace is in one accord of the mystery of God in the body of God which is the church and its beginning and end.The alpha and omega blesses my soul. For he gives living waters unto the humble soul who is thirsty. For I hope to have Christ who is the tree of life ....bless my soul.Amen and hallelujah!
I loved being part of this concert, and hearing you soar in this movement was a real highlight! I don't think I've ever heard anyone sing that solo better.
What a generous compliment. I must say I think it’s the best I’ve done and a shame I have never gotten to do it again anywhere. May I ask your name? You can direct message me on Facebook if you like
I found sweet memories listening to this hymn while in the hospital with Covid. Valerie's mezzo still carries me back to those pain-filled nights and days--and comforts me still.
This is an amazing performance and I have sung with the basses although I'm a bass-baritone I did manage to hit the low C i don't know how I hit it but I did
Valerie - this is a great version, considering you're probably not Russian lol. Polina Shamaeva sings a few versions of this song over the course of a few years. It is a beautiful song, and both of you do an incredible job. Looking forward to maybe seeing you sing more Rachmaninov in the future.
Absolutely beautiful. Valerie's gorgeous voice is perfect for this solo! 💙
Val nails it AGAIN as in all her performances... she has a gift from the Lord!

It's Ben. :)@@33doublev
As a bass it was difficult to believe my ears. I'd thought this quality of sound is from Russian Sankt Petersburg. Wonderful!
That was awesome!
Thank you very much!
