    I’ve seen several videos of David Kipping on his channel with my favorites to be explanations about FTL speed travel paradoxes and quantum entanglement. What I like mostly about him is that he never exaggerates anything. Even tho he is looking far far away, his feet are always on the ground. Always trying to teach with true facts of our beloved universe. Excuse my bad English, I’m from EU, Greece.

Especially his videos using statistics & game theory to try to come up with what would be totally speculative answers but David and his students make really good shots at making educated guesses, I guess you would call them, that no other channel or paper I've read even comes close to or even attempts to try answering.

      Neil would make a bad president for the same reason Trump could never have been good at the job. They don't know anything about how to get legislation done or how politics works.
      Im sure Neil would have great policies and ideas, but he wouldn't get any of it passed and turned into law.
      Be thankful for this fact, it's why Trump was unable to implement his awful policies.

Is an awesome communicator, will take the right decisions, easy and hard. And Chuck will convey these decisions with some great jokes and everyone's happy. And Charles will make sure the right people end up in the White House, people with the appetite for science and discovery and not the ones working for their own wealth and power.

    When they talked about detection bias, you just have to remember. It takes 365 days for the Earth to orbit around the sun. So if someone was trying to, let’s say, detect our planet, blocking sunlight directly facing them, they would be able to do so roughly once every 365 days perhaps. What happens when the planet is as far out as Jupiter Saturn, Neptune, or Uranus. The first of the planet is out the longer it takes to orbit around the sun. You could go from taking days to orbit around the sun to taking years to taking decades to orbit around the sun. Which means we might not have even had the chance to spot certain planets yet

    • @MagnusQuake
      @MagnusQuake Год назад +2

      That's precisely what his correction for his formulas he mentions accounts for. It's made to work in a way that addressing for the negative reads when measuring as well as needing to have a repeat detection. It's like a backwards formula, where you put sort of guess numbers in to give you an idea of where your number should roughly be.
      And like in an example you gave, it may indicate the planets orbit is soo far it hasn't orbited once yet. Though we would be able to determine an approximate distance for how far we should expect to look to find such readings if we plugged in numbers for refinement. It should all check out tho it never hurts to do ones own research because I'm no expert.

    Let me say this. The core of our earth is made from the same element that makes up the sun, so in other words deep within the cord of our earth is another sun. Take it in for a moment, remember what the sun is made of and think of all the possibilities. Volcanos are pockets for the sun to breath seeing that it is covered by mostly water and earth, the earth is way deeper than we me think and the water on top is use to keep the earth cool.

    Dumb question: They always talks about transit method to detect planets, but I always think about there are so many different angles in space in which planets orbits its star so how they detect those planets?

    • @BlahVideosBlahBlah
      @BlahVideosBlahBlah Год назад +1

      Generally, for now, they just don't. There are other methods, particularly decoding the wobbles of a star being pulled on by its orbiting planets, but the transit method is an incredibly data rich means of detection by comparison. That's why the transit method of detection gets so much attention.

I'm rather surprised that Mr David hadn't heard that idea before. I've never seen it fact-checked, so I don't know how scientifically true it is, but it's a notion that's been around for a VERY long time.
