My favorite episodes are with Chuck Nice! I love his energy. He seems genuinely interested in learning about the topics. Some other comedians just make jokes and often feels like making fun of the person or the topic, but Chuck is funny and has a nice vibe without being disrespectful.
its amazing how far chuck has come since i first saw him on neils podcasts like 10 years ago... he now seems to genuinely understand alot of the scientific concepts he discusses, so neil spends a lot less time explaining shit to him and they riff off each other much better
I seen Chuck Nice on a couple of episodes of Dr. Oz too. He seems really interested in learning about Science and jokes around without being disrespectful there too.
The best episodes of this show are with Chuck Nice, his genuine respect for the topic and hunger to learn about them is refreshing compared to other comedians that come on the show. Chuck is legit funny yet incredibly smart and hungers to learn. I love learning, too. Have a great day everyone!
I appreciate the fact that he's spent so much time around Neil that he actually usually has a decent grasp of what's being talked about, so when he's trying to be funny, what he says actually makes sense. Also seems like he's a pretty sharp guy in general, picks up on things that are being explained to him pretty quick.
Major thank you to those behind the camera making this show possible! You are not thanked enough. That's wrong. For without you, there would simply be Neil and Chuck in front of a cell phone or go-pro camera talking about random stuff.
Okay, allow me to add my voice to the movement of getting Jackie on here as many times as she has time for. She works in the same building, get it done.
I’m not a science person and always all my life thought it was boring and hate listening to it...but I tell you what! I’ve never skipped a sec! Jackie! Very very interesting!! Have her back I’d love to listen to more of her theories and hypothesis!
The universe is big...but that road runner fact Neil blew my mind. I'm 23 and grew up watching that show. Love you and what you do for science and its exposure!
"don't even know that they don't have enough mass..." "but they do it anyway?" "now you guys are putting emotion on it" Saying a chunk of matter in space has the ability to know is the closest to anthropomorphism in that segment.
I love how Neil will frequently do a little aside that references the fact that Pluto is not a planet and we should "get over it." Makes me chuckle every time!
Not enough credit given to chuck nice. Dude legit understands what's going on in these discussions with any of these PhD level guests. Probably one of the Smartest comedian out there despite his antics.
Exploring the space between the stars and planets, known as the interstellar medium, is one of the most fascinating frontiers of astrophysics. This vast expanse is filled with dust, gas, cosmic rays, and magnetic fields, all of which play a crucial role in star formation and the evolution of galaxies. Studying the interstellar medium can provide insights into how stars are born and die, as well as how planets and solar systems form. With advancements in space telescopes and probes, we are beginning to uncover the mysteries of this cosmic "in-between" space. What new phenomena might we discover as we delve deeper into the vastness of the interstellar medium?
Neil: I like when I have experts on the show because I don’t have to say anything Also Neil: constantly cuts export off mid sentence to talk about nonsense
No, I’m here to learn with some entertainment thrown in. Don’t get me wrong, I watch every show, I was just making an observation about this one. No need to go full white knight
I like Neil but I do have to admit he jokes around a bit too much sometimes and he occasionally acts dumbfounded when some, On the other hand, I agree it's entertaining but I'd like some more science out of him. He comes off sounding dumbfounded when faced with some hardcore scientific discussion. After all, he is an Astro Physicist. I'd just like to hear some Physiscisting even though I may not understand the mathematical aspect of it. It presents a challenge for me.

Love me some startalk, but I must admit that I was getting a bit annoyed at how often Neil and Chuck cut off Jackie with jokes when she was trying to make points.
@@johnbrown563 What? Maybe you misunderstood my comment. I was just saying people fetishize him to the point where its cringeworthy. Im not saying hes not smart or knowledgeable or ready to learn.
in the beginning, Jennifer when describing the "nemesis"/planet 9, this is the same as planet X? also ada karina sounds quite a bit like Anna Karenina, the famous Tolstoy novel. Just an interesting observation, but a definitely a great book.
I'm hawling 😂😂😂😂 33:15 when Neil degrasse Tyson talking about Jupiter being a bouncer in our solar system checking all the projectiles at the door! literally the funniest astrophysicist. He's having so much fun with this. What a great cosmic queries and show. ❤❤❤
Neil! I love your documentaries and I'm so happy I've frecently found your show... I think you and Chuck are great and even make me laugh when I'm upset! I have a question and I'm not sure if you will see this but here goes! A friend of mine is highly sceptical and has taken small steps to find out for himself but is the new 5G harmful to the human brain and can it affect you like a puppet on strings? I think Chuck works because he has a great sense of humor and doesn’t have to dumb himself down to express it.
100% yes, and he is clearly very intelligent and also legitimately curious about astrophysics.
I'd like to start a petition to make Jackie a permanent member of Star Talk. She's very engaging and explains facts clearly and is just fun to watch.
Paul Ramirez maybe her own channel?
@@triscuitfarmsI like her and Neil together doing the show.
Honestly she needs her own show
Personally, I like janna levin better as a team. Chuck Janna Neil. I don’t very much like Jackie’s interactions here
When she gets to finish a sentence
Really wish the show had more time for Dr. Faherty. Her answers and where she lead them were some of the coolest stuff I've heard in a while.
She's very good at directing the conversation and staying on topic!
Just finished hearing the entire episode. Please host Dr. Faherty for a 2hr+ podcast !!

Jackie should be part of the Star Talk cast. Wordem up.
LOVE this episode. Listened twice to have it all sink in! Please have Dr. Faherty on waaaay more regularly!
One of the few people to teach Neil more than a few things in a single episode. What a smart person. Keep them coming!
Help push the "Give Chuck a raise" movement 👊😎

@@xIPatchy Yeah i see that, and sometimes Chuck actually adds some real deep insight - and even throws Neil off with his knowledge
Star Talk needs to do shows that do not have a time limit. The banter that they have with each other is priceless!
Best podcast on the planet. I particularly love this episode. Great topic, great professionals, great show. Highly educational and entertaining.
Awesomely knowledgeable, brilliant, and engaging guest Neil and Chuck. She balances you guys out nicely. Please have her on more!
I miss these Neil's office episodes!! Please bring the people face to face back 😁

Jackie being a true "maester" by wearing the maester chains
Damn, i just commented that. You beat me to it, imma delete mine and add a like to yours

I didn ’t know what you meant until I looked, lo and behold, she’s wearing a maesters chain. Lol

I am very impressed Chuck is learning a lot and became so knowledgeable on Cosmos. Jackie is knowledgeable but poker face, please smile a little bit.

Just to clarify, when astronomers talk of "heavy elements" they mean anything other than hydrogen and helium.
An iron atom weighs nothing anyways 🤷♂️

That is the human thing to do assigning Anthropomorphic qualities to non-human objects.
