The selection itself is most likely from July, 1950 with Red Rodney (trumpet), Al Haig (piano), Tommy Potter (bass), Roy Haynes (drums). Yeah to be only in his early 30’s when he passed but his metabolic age was that of a 50+ year old man shows he really did not prioritize his well-being. From drugs to food addiction…it’s unfortunate. He also had mental health issues which was not in the least addressed at that time within the Black community.

So true! Bird couldn't have been no more than 30 years old at this session (he looks like he's in his 60's). Drugs are a devastating thing!
