Everyone needs a choir of peters in their life 😍
Thanks so much! I'd love to hear a Topher sea chanty cover 👀
Ubisoft needs to hire Peter for whatever Assassin's Creed game they make next. His vocals are worthy of a song that has an opera section surrounded by whatever else they want.
Love the slower pace, the slight difference in lyrics and pitch from what I've heard before. As someone else said, I can sing along with your bassline and that's fantastic too. Gonna have to listen to the rest of your stuff now ya dang jerk..
Now THAT was a beautiful arrangement. There’s nothing quite like really close harmonies and an interesting, flowing bass line on sea chanteys. I used to sing that one with my harp at ren faires. Thanks for bringing back some lovely memories.
Thanks so much! 🙏
This is such a beautiful cover of this song. As a natural Bari, the melody fits perfectly for me. Thanks for giving me a chance to sing along with you
I love the warmth in your tone! So smooth and relaxing. Its like hot cocoa for the soul.
Thanks so much! "Hot cocoa for the soul" -- now THAT'S a compliment 😁
Agree totally. Beautiful, soothing.
I love how when one went high the other(s) went low and vice versa. It just added a different kind of depth and feel
Gorgeous, Peter! Wonderful job, as always!
Thank you my friend! 😌
Pure English, clean and beautiful male voices that do not interfere with musical instruments. Beauty. And singing with a good person in chorus is also a good idea. :)
Simply lovely.
Ahhhhh I loved this!! The soft and tender look in your eye just makes it even sadder. But sooo beautiful!!
Thank you so much! I was definitely going for sad so I'm glad it worked 😌😭
Here before this man gets big. Keep it up Peter. With that talent, you'll get to 100k subs soon.
I appreciate the support big time -- cheers to getting to 100k in the future!
@@PeterBarber cheers! 🍾
Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravo!!
Beautiful!!
Dude I can actually sing along the bass line, now I can't watch this cover without singing with you
Love that! Enjoy singing along :)
Amaizing! Wonderful song!
I wish I was this skilled
I'm glad my first attempt at using a green screen came off okay 😅
Wow Peter, fantastic.
Okay, I’m sold. I would have loved the chance to have sung with you. As an opera tenor, I was always on the lookout for a voice like yours to harmonize with. I was born too soon, but I will enjoy hearing more from you. I wish you all the success your talent deserves.
This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent.
This is incredible, your voice is like honey!
Wow…I just discovered that you showcase your talent here on RUclips! Stunning.
So love this.
So beautiful
W. O. W. I’m sending this to my husband… he’s a tenor and sang for many years with the Oregon Reparatory Singers; I’m sure that he’s going to enjoy this too. You are a great talent!
Oooooooh goosebumps, what a charming old fable classic so eloquently sung! Bravo!!!!
Wow!! What a voice. My Daddy served 27 years in the US NAVY and loves this song. I must forward it to him. I’m sure he will fall in love with it as I have. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice with us.
You have such a beautiful tone to your voice no matter what range you sing in ❤️
I particularly like the harmony on this one. I’m really enjoying Hearing more of your voice !
Man, what a talent you've got there. The world is a better place with you in it 🙂
Thank you so much :)
Absolutely stunning! ❤
We need way more covers like this (not necessarily the sea shanty style) but songs covered in this style arrangement! This sounds AWESOME!!! 🎉
absolutely amazing
Thank you! :)
@@PeterBarber you are very welcome keep up the great work :)
Loved every note of it.
Wow. What a variation on the normal simple song we hear. Thank you
This is beautiful man! 🎶😍
Thank you sir!! 😊
It reminds me of Assassin's Creed: Rogue and how I'd flee into the game just to sail the seas with this shanty playing when the blues hit. Thanks for the cover 🥲💙
oooooo my god you voice its .... very charysmatick I love your voice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WE all have to wear your blue sunglasses! Awesome rendiction of this song, simply THANKS
This is the best cover of Leave her Johnny leave her . I've heard
This is a beautiful arrangement -- masterfully performed. I will prepare an old-fashioned this evening and play this repeatedly,. I love sea shanties. Especially when sung like this. Thank you, Peter!
hahaha, Triplets!!! Incredible harmonies. Watching this felt like I was seeing trio of real people, not just Peter. Super.
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
And.....goosebumps....your voice is just so smooth and soothing. I love this one too. I've jumped down the rabbit hole and will be stalking every video today lol
Lovely
It beautiful
Beautiful 🥰
This was awesome man! Amazing harmony, very subtle yet ambient Eb1s at 2:55 (don’t know if that was the right way to describe it lol) And also it’s great that you’ve stepped up your production and gone and got a green screen!
Also will Johnny just leave her? Like come on
Johnny really can't take a hint 😆 Glad you enjoyed it bud!
Such eye candy that sings so nicely! Enjoy you reactions and now I found you singing! Would love to hear you and Avi sing together! I’m so glad you appreciate Avi like he deserves! ❤
It's finally nice to see someone singing songs other than The Wellerman. If I may make some requests, Shiloh, Northumbria, Barrets Privateers, Pique La Beliene; all would be beautifully accompanied by your voice!
Great suggestions, and thank you!
@@PeterBarber I've been singing chantys for roughly 6 years now. If you'd like other suggestions, or even just historical background on them I'd be more than happy to oblige!
@@PeterBarber let me add to the requests for more sea chantys. Barrets Privateers! And other Stan Rogers material...
Oh yes! Barrets Privateers or Rollin’ Down to Old Maui. If you do The Mary Ellen Carter I’d probably ugly cry. It would be epic!
Liked before I even listened. You never disappoint, Peter.
Many thanks :)
When that contrabass comes rolling in...
Great stuff mate!
It's subtle in that 5th verse but I'm glad someone heard those Eb1s ;)
So very smooth. Just lovely.
Sounds so rich and warm, love it!
Awesome work as always Peter!
Thank you my friend!
You have a beautiful voice
Fantastic work!
Thanks so much!
Yeah Buddy! Another solid rendition! Sing low brother!
Thanks man! Glad you like it! 👊
This man should have 1 million subs easily.
Thank you! I hope someday I'll get there. Tons of solo music coming out over the next year :]
0:55 smacked me in the face. Crazy bass
That moment when you can sing along with the low harmony better than the lead on a bass-baritone's vocals. I feel like I might be a bass after all. 😅
RELEASE DATE ON ALL STREAMING SERVICES: August 2, 2021 (Pre-Order opens July 26, 2021) 🔥

Love this! So moving!
Thank you! 🙏
Loved it well done
so so so beautiful.
i think the "her" is the ship, not a person. love the resonance of the voices together. I became a regular viewer only about 2 weeks ago. Mostly for your Dimash critiques. This is a nice contrast (!) to your other offerings. this is feb 14 2122 as watch this,
first time hearing you. Love it. great harmonies with those other guys :)
I'm subscribing because I want to hear more of this kind of thing in my life.
❤️ wow, beautiful ❤️
And with every new video he surprise me harder. I showed your chanel to all my friends xD They all love your voice.
Very much love for you, talented man ❤
Wow, thank you! 🙏
😍
Wow just wow
Everyone be listening to the awesome singing...I’m still amazed by the fact he combed his hair to the left when he recorded himself on the right and on the left combed it right,-ahhhh symmetry.thanks Peter!!
Edited:*realises he just uses a mirror affect🤦🏻
Ah yes, but still the attention to detail counts no? 😊
hahahaha I actually had two different clips of that recorded, but one of them got deleted before I started editing somehow... so I just used the mirror effect 😅
@@PeterBarber hahaha that’s great!!
You've really gotta put this stuff on spotify bro
I will for sure get it there at some point 😅
@@PeterBarber Can you put up your sheet music somewhere to buy? I would love to get a couple of my baritone friends and sing a few of your covers.
Sheesh! ☺️
Wow!
sounds great man!! Reminds me of assassins Creed Black Flag!!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
found you by accident doing a reaction to home free glad i did as well sung
Incredible. Could you do Randy Dandy O?
I sang it in a tenor key, but you would absolutely crush Aaron Copland’s the Boatmen Song. It’s so whimsical and feel good like this, and with your range and arranging skills I think there would be so much cool stuff within the texture you could play with.
I was reluctantly classically trained as a tenor but told by all of the other professors/professional singers I worked with that I would be a Verdi Baritone, but my teacher insisted upon training me as a tenor and making me suffer through the Dalla Sua Pace’s of the world when everyone else was saying why don’t you sing Non Piu Andrai, and hearing your low stuff has really made me want to get back into classical lessons and embrace my lower register that I neglected for so long.
I mean what tenor can hit a D2 everyday?
I’ve always felt so out of place and I could go on and on, but your music inspires me and makes me want to reevaluate my perception of my range.
Interesting how the voice can create overtones , especially perfect fourths and fifths (01:12-01:15 on the first leave her Johnny)
It's amazing what happens when voices are super in-tune with one another -- feels like magic when done live
@@PeterBarber yes...in my college hour there was a high soprano who created overtones every time she was singing...there was a high octave over her voice whenever she was singing and I thought she was singing that high until I listened carefully
Followed you here from tik tok... you're awesome
Yay! I'm glad some people are finding their way from TikTok (that's really my whole point in making a TikTok lol). Glad to have you here!
DAMN BOI
😁
BUIETIFUL .most of the leave her Johnny covers I've seen go way out of my vocal range and i have to strain to reach notes. This one is sin my range so I t hank you
I figured a few low voiced guys would appreciate that I took it down a few steps 😁
Love it! Except for the transition between "...winds don't blow and it's" to "time for us to leave her". The key at "it's" should be the same when moving to "time" because it's one sentence. Should be a smooth flow through "...winds don't blow and it's time for us to leave her". Shouldn't go up key at "time", should be the same key through and then drop at "her".
Listening to this again today. Just wondering, have you had any problems with copyright? It's making me hesitant to do covers here on RUclips.
I've had zero issues -- it's possible that you can get a "copyright strike" where your content is removed, and if you do it too many times, you get suspended. BUT I've never seen that happen from covers -- usually what happens it RUclips identifies copyright with an advanced algorithm called RUclips ID, and it just means you can't make money from your video, and that the copyright holders can run ads on it and make money from it.
Great job. Here’s a novel idea, with sea shanties being a thing now go back a generation or two and react to the Clancy brothers, Tommy Makem, the Dubliners or Irish Rovers et al for there renditions. Although it’s not a sea shanty, I’d be interested in your reaction to Liam Clancy’s version of “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda” historical license notwithstanding it’s the most powerful anti war song ever penned imho.
