Its a nice idea but It's lacking a lot of fine detail. The key thing you're missing out is enforcement. The whole reason people make patents in the first place is to get royalties. If you put it on the blockchain and someone rips off your invention without paying you royalties, who will enforce the injustice? The government authorizes the patents because the government enforces it. You would need an interface to the legal system and a way for the invention to be tied to a jurisdiction or country so in order to get enforcement of the royalties etc. If you do somehow manage to make that interface the government would likely want a large voting share of the DAO ( assuming the patents are added via a vote ) and now you're back in square 1. It's a nice idea Jerry and you're right about the IT technicalities but you haven't considered the legalities.
I had an extensive "chat" with Chat GPT about my idea for a vehicle with an embedded vane drive, impeller drive, and AC induction components at each wheel hub, driven by hydraulics,
steam, and regenerated electrical power. The hydraulic braking would also be "captured" in rams for low speed stop, and go drive force. This vehicle could be self sustaining, using hydrolysis
flash boiler steam generation, dual battery banks, hydraulic pumps, steam driven generators, all in a box undercarriage assembly, with computer monitored drive optimization, providing
unlimited mileage. This could even utilize a partnership with body manufacturers for drop on bodies. Each wheel being a tri motive source of drive power would eliminate almost all of
the frictional loss of internal combustion reciprocating engines, and be less power use intensive than present electrical only, or hybrid vehicles. Let's see if my comment gets taken down.

For me the strength of ICP is this. It is not trying to be a currency. We already have BTC for thay. ICP is facilitating web3 in a revolutionary way. I like Polkadot as well for this reason. However i think ICP is far superior to DOT.
