The way I cut a mango is different. I take the knife in one hand and the mango in the other, and then I VERY carefully... hand them over to my Asian wife who grew up eating mangos. It's a bit of a "work around" (what with the nuptials and all) but those mangos are Sa-weeeeeet!
That's really nice of you to say. Was actually just showing my brother your videos, he's a chef, so I love your channel as well. I'm always watching and learning.
How can someone dislike this video ?! I mean to each their own but the knowledge in this video is super rich and free! Thank you! I was cutting mangos at work and were so horrible but now I'ma show off some skills hell yeah
@NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW …. You sir, are God send…I still watch your videos, however, this gem came up as I searched for how to cut my breakfast mango. Top tier. It does cover everything I’m looking for.
I absolutely love fresh ripe Mangos! Thanks for these tips on cutting a Mango. Never realized the odd shape they are, but that was some great info. I'm sure my Mango carving skills just gotten better from watching this Steve!
Thank you my man, I have gotten a few requests for that, so I will put in on the docket! Hope you're well. Let me know next time you're doing a live video. I want to come hang out.
I'm not really into watching cooking shows, just needed a quick vid to show me how to properly cut mangos. But I must say I really enjoyed your video, editing style and just how you explain stuff without trying 'too hard' if that makes sense?. Keep up the great work :)
Thanks for the tips! The mango has always been a pain for me to get all chopped up. Felt like I was wasting way too much. I’ll have to try these next time!!
No, I don't have either. I saw you doing it on the back of another knife in one of your videos. Maybe I should just buy the stone or steel? Either way, showing the different ways would be helpful!
I saw a number of vids on mango slicers. I wondered why they didn't peel the mango first. Way to go!! Another way would be using a mandoline type cutter to julienne slice the mango (peel first). A course grater could work as well.
Dude! The way you cut is artwork. I'm possibly the worst at cutting mangos. It ends up being a pure hack job and then I just end up sucking on the pit. Haha. Great video man, I'm gonna try the 'flower' method.
So like I was saying thank u. But can someone please tell wat that double handle mango slicer that you used. It was awesome. I used a tomato slicer like dat once please let me .
Any links to that cool mango cutter you tried?? I have shaky hands and have found trying to cut fruit difficult. I use mangos frequently and this would be super helpful!
Thank u so much!!!! Man I luv mangos living in S. A Texas we use it for lots of goodies but man by the time I'm done trying to cut a mango the majority is smashed , on the floor or just looks like a child on crack was given a project.
Haha, yes, I had to remember to showcase safety. When I ran my food truck, I cut and sliced avocados in the shell like crazy, never cut myself. Thanks for watching bud!
I’m like your professor, except what o teach will serve you for life. So honestly, you’re doing the right thing. Everything I learned in college became obsolete when I graduated. Had to teach myself everything I know. Use college to learn how to be an adult, teach yourself how to do the skills you think you’ll need in life
I've been cutting mangos by just one way, and my grandma likes to give me mangos to cut so I wanted to play around a bit and see how other people would do it Conclusion: My way is the best lol, I'd say cubes/those thin slices are not very fitting for my family since people are so busy and I dont want them coming back many times for another mango piece.
Thanks for the tips! I really enjoyed the aesthetics. Some feedback? Balancing the volume of the music and the volume of your voice. The music was way too louder than your voice.
Stephen, I just got off the phone with you know who thank you so much for the valuable information I really loved the way you presented the preparation of the mango. Great video sir. Thank you once again sir your the best.
Thank you man!! Just also realized you should be following Joanie Simon, her channel is called The Bite Shot. She does straight food photography tutorials, she’s great
Finally got a chance to watch this on the big screen after I got home. NICE slicing skills, Sir Steve!! (But, sorry, I was tardy for the mango party). Your editting is always soooo ON POINT!!!!! Major brownie points for you! I was out & about, earlier, searching for oyster mushroom alternatives for "Chuck's Oyster Mushroom Dinner" because everywhere I found the oysters, they were either much larger (and would be tougher) or they were waayyy over-developed & starting to discolor. Abalones would've been a good alternative but, those are even harder to find. I ended up getting some white shimeji & some brown ones, too. I hope they work! I'll let you know.... While I have you, do you come up with your own recipes? I've been successfully experimenting with flavor/texture combos in various desserts with the help of a few really good reference books. But, there's one in particular that I credit most-often. I wanted to send it over if you wouldn't mind receiving it.... It's great for savory ingredients, too. So, you (or your "chef bro") might find it useful. Let me know if you'd be interested... frankiebe333@gmail.com. Keep up the inspirational vids!!!
Will shoot you an email! I do try to come up with most of the recipes myself. I do read recipes as inspiration. Very rarely do I follow a recipe. I don't really believe in them. I'm at adds with even considering the idea of writing recipes because my goal is to teach you all how to fish, not to fish you fish. The techniques I want to teach are supposed to allow you to be creative at home, apply them in ways you see fit, and be your own chef/restaurant.
AWESOME!! I hear you on the whole idea of simply planting seeds and letting your audience be responsible for growing their own ideas... that teaches independence and self-sufficiency, which I'm a BIG proponent of as well. As I'm shooting initial pieces for my soon-to-launch brand channel, I'm trying to ensure that my potential audience understands that my vids won't be intended as tutorials or "how-to's". Oh, BTW & FYI, the book I'd like to send you is actually a flavor/ingredient-pairing book that can be used to inspire your own dishes, similar to how you intend your channel to work. The authors are best-selling food-writers so, that'll give you a hint to their credibility. Much respect, man!!
I enjoyed the video it was very cool maybe try to do it step by step the whole cut scene is very confusing and a repeat of the same cuts but still a 10/10 video.
Thanks man! So funny, we must have been watching this video at the same time, for some reason this is by far my most viewed video. Something must be working!
Found you from reddit. You’re great man. No doubt a bit of an inspiration. I like the format of your videos, and how engaging they are. Great stuff. Keep it up!
When my niece was 1 years old I was feeding her French toast. She was enjoying the French toast until she glimsed a mango I partially pulled out of a bag. She immediately threw the French toast on the ground, pointed at the mango, and started screaming cause she wanted the mango.
Don't nobody tell me the pit is edible. 😂Thanks for watching! Talk amongst yourself downstairs. 😘
LOL
Anything is edible if you're brave enough 😁
It's definitely sproutable.... plantable.. :)
@@WeSuckAtCooking Some things are only edible once.
Thank man

Haha I hear that! Well at least you’ve got a master mango cutter in house! Thanks for watching brother! Appreciate it!
It's a pleasure watching your stuff.
That's really nice of you to say. Was actually just showing my brother your videos, he's a chef, so I love your channel as well. I'm always watching and learning.
Lol
Ew
How can someone dislike this video ?! I mean to each their own but the knowledge in this video is super rich and free! Thank you! I was cutting mangos at work and were so horrible but now I'ma show off some skills hell yeah
Haha thanks Luis!! I’d have to side with you on that one! 😂
The way I do it is probably the most common method:
I have the mango laying on it side and slice all the way around the middle then twist
I should’ve watched this before my disastrous try at cutting one
@NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW …. You sir, are God send…I still watch your videos, however, this gem came up as I searched for how to cut my breakfast mango. Top tier. It does cover everything I’m looking for.
I absolutely love fresh ripe Mangos! Thanks for these tips on cutting a Mango. Never realized the odd shape they are, but that was some great info. I'm sure my Mango carving skills just gotten better from watching this Steve!
Oh I know you're gonna cut them up and throw them on the grill! lol Thanks for watching! Glad I could help!
Great knife skills, Steve. Great editing and flow as usual. Keep it up!
Thank you bud! Appreciate that!
I never thought I would enjoy a video on cutting mangos so much
Applauding from far away bro! Another awesome production! Can you do a knife sharpening video in the near future?
Thank you my man, I have gotten a few requests for that, so I will put in on the docket! Hope you're well. Let me know next time you're doing a live video. I want to come hang out.
That will be awesome bro! It's this Saturday at 1pm est. Come habg out Bro!
I'm not really into watching cooking shows, just needed a quick vid to show me how to properly cut mangos. But I must say I really enjoyed your video, editing style and just how you explain stuff without trying 'too hard' if that makes sense?. Keep up the great work :)
Lol u don't expect people to shoot a mango cutting video this fancy😂😂😂😂 this is really an amazing video
Yeeeeahhh! I'm definitely buying me a mango slicer! Thanks my dude!!
Jesus, watching this was so satisfying. His mango cutting skills are 😍😍😍 and I live on an island. Wow
Thanks for the tips! The mango has always been a pain for me to get all chopped up. Felt like I was wasting way too much. I’ll have to try these next time!!
Glad I could help clear things up a bit.
Oh, do you or can you, make a video on the basics of sharpening a knife? Especially if I don't have the blade sharpener-thingy-majig?
Modern Maximalist yes buddy, will do for sure! Thanks for watching! You saying you don’t have a stone? Or a honing steel?
No, I don't have either. I saw you doing it on the back of another knife in one of your videos. Maybe I should just buy the stone or steel? Either way, showing the different ways would be helpful!
I would at least have some steel on hand and use it every time before you use it and every time after. I will do a sharpening video.
Awesome video. I have just bought myself a mango cutter and it does work well but this has given me some new ideas.
I saw a number of vids on mango slicers. I wondered why they didn't peel the mango first. Way to go!!
Another way would be using a mandoline type cutter to julienne slice the mango (peel first).
A course grater could work as well.
Life saver. I got some mangos ready to be eaten.
Best video I have seen on cutting a mango!
Dude! The way you cut is artwork. I'm possibly the worst at cutting mangos. It ends up being a pure hack job and then I just end up sucking on the pit. Haha. Great video man, I'm gonna try the 'flower' method.
Modern Maximalist it’s that damn put that trips everyone up. You gotta make sure to cut around!
Love your editing style and education! Great video!!
Thank so much Megan!
Pregnant me eating sweet mango while watching how I should’ve cut it 😆 😋 I need more mangos 🥭 ❤️
Mango video made me a subscriber. The angles, lighting, details. ✨✨✨
Do you have that slicer available in your merch? I can't find it, where did you get it ?? Thanks, I need help with those mangos.
Ok, why do I like the sound of the knife cutting through the fruit then hitting the cutting board? haha, nice knife cutting skills :-)
I love mango with lime juice and a sprinkle of salt#amazing
“Set em up into like little piles” idk why Buh that had me rolling....for no reason😂
P.S - keep up the good work😊
Quit acting like an imbecile

Thank you because I didn’t have a clue on how to cut mine that I just bought!
Thought I was queen of the kitchen, til I had to research cutting mango....😩

NOT ANOTHER COOKING SHOW wow I love you
So like I was saying thank u. But can someone please tell wat that double handle mango slicer that you used. It was awesome. I used a tomato slicer like dat once please let me .
When i cut a mango i hold the knife and mango in the same hand and then i jerk the sausage.
That works for me every time.
1:45 I love how it worked with the music!
+Nurufx Productions thank you bud!
Grande CHEF comparema!!!
Love the slow motion knife skills!!
soooo helpful thanks!!!!!
Cool vid dude! 😎
Very NICE CUTS CHEF! 🔪🥭🎲🍕
Your skills are so good I can now retire my veg-O-matic. Well done like always.

Love Love Love all the choices. Mangos are a such a Gift. Thank you
Great vid, thank you!🙌🏻
do you have any suggestions on how to farm mangoes? I'm trying to start a farm in Tahiti I just need some more money.
Haha I just did all these same cuts on an unripe mango yesterday!!
Made me smile again. Fun videos to watch and learn.
Thank u so much!!!! Man I luv mangos living in S. A Texas we use it for lots of goodies but man by the time I'm done trying to cut a mango the majority is smashed , on the floor or just looks like a child on crack was given a project.
I was worried at 0:53, glad you used the towel. Liking the new thumbnail!
Haha, yes, I had to remember to showcase safety. When I ran my food truck, I cut and sliced avocados in the shell like crazy, never cut myself. Thanks for watching bud!
Your video is so simple and productive, really liked it...
Now, you are one funny guy! Awesome editing, personality and hype.
I’ve been following one of these ways, and everyone is loving it 👌🏻
Excellent! I learned some new things.
Loved this video. Very helpful. Thanks so much.
I have my own mango tree and I find that cutting the cheeks off and using a large spoon to just scoop out the fruit is quickest.
How do you hold it so firmly though? Mangoes are quite slippery when held.
I bought 10 mango's to give as a present and on Sunday I'll visit them
Very informative. Thankyou.
Great knife wielding prowess as well as another magnificent video production. I really enjoy your kitchen presence and video style. BRAVO!!!
Thank you my friend! Always nice to hear from you!
Nice video !👍👍💪🏼
Ok but why is this guy so fine ? What is his ethnicity
Haha! I’m Italian...and thank you for making me smile.
Was about to say the same thing 😉😉
NOT ANOTHER COOKING SHOW do you speak Italian? I went to Rome a few years back and made it by with my Spanish 🙌🏻
Mmmhmm
This was an awesome video!

another cool cutting video! Nice job brotha
Thank you buddy!
Thanks for the tricks!
Looking forward to doing it your way! Thanks for caring and sharing.
"Worked better than expected". You must have been expecting it not to work at all 🤣
Never used one and mangos are all different shapes so I was a bit skeptical that it would fit. Thanks for watching!
You dun did it again. Turned something simple into art
Haha thank you brotha! This is my number 1 video right now
Thanks for the tips! I really enjoyed the aesthetics.
Some feedback?
Balancing the volume of the music and the volume of your voice. The music was way too louder than your voice.
I wonder if he can julienne them faster or if the mangos are too slippery
New supporter from cooking with CJ!!! Big like big love 💘
Thank you!! So glad CJ went ya! So happy to have you!
Which way is the best way to avoid making a mess with juice?
Very slick.
Helped a lot
The unripe Green mango are good too. make a salad or just have with some dried fish.
Yes they are! Thanks for watching. I actually prefer my mangos a tiny bit firmer then very ripe
