- An easy way to make your windows server a little more secure. THis video will show you step by step how to install and enable 2FA on any WIndows machine (THe video sows Window Server 2016, but it works on WIndows 2012 and up and WIndows 7 and up (tested) it may work on earlier versions, but I have not tested it.
This is a very detailed and easy to follow video. I will be installing duo in my test environment.
Nice and easy follow through. Only a few updates here and there (video is from 2017), but still the same. Cheers from Brazil.
Thank you. This video is well made step by step learning EC2 RDP with Duo Mobile Security login
Thank you for clear instructions
Very detailed. Why you don't make more videos for your channel?
Finding the time is not easy. Plus as I am a SysAdmin by trade, after 8.5hrs on a computer, I tend to wanna get away from them in my spare time. Hopefully more content soon.
Thank you - Excellent video!
So Duo would need to be installed on all the workstations that people RDP into right? We have server essentials 2016 using Remote Desktop Gateway and I cannot find anywhere if adding any 2FA solutions works with RDG & Essentials.
Do you know if this would work by installing on each workstation and even the server?
Correct, DUO would need to be installed on each machine you wish to interact with.
Very Nice video. Thank you.
Thanks for the viedo
Thanks for the detailed video on using Duo for Win Logon through RDP. Any idea if it requires the Duo Auth Proxy or does the Win system directly communicate with Duo Cloud?
I cannot believe I missed this question. I do not believe it requires Duo Auth Proxy. I have used this to access my internal home network via port forward (Duo Enabled system is not directly on the net). So I believe it communicates directly with Duo. At least in my case.
thanks for posting. is it safe to assume that these directions can be followed if using a server running active directory rather than users/groups?
@@considerednormal thanks for the quick reply! much appreciated.
hello, for some reason duo prompt is not showing neither windows login page, is there a workaround for this?
Sadly I am not familiar with this issue. It has been quite some time since I have set my own up, but do not recall hitting this issue.
