And there is a peace initiative from Europe in place. Just inform yourself. It is based on the UN Charta grounded on the sovereignity of states and borders. So if Putin stops the invasion and leaves all of Ukraine, peace can be imminent. War crimes and reparations can be sorted out afterwards.

Victor Orban seems to be the only western leader who didn't lose his mind.
If there is no diplomacy, the only solution to the conflict is a military defeat of one of the parties.
There is no way that Ukraine, with or without the help from the west, is able to defeat Russia.
Waiting for Ukraine to get into a more favorable negotiation position is a fools errand.
The Ukrainian position will only further degrade and Russian demands will only become harsher.
The Russian position has been stable since before the war started. I don't think it's going to get worse for Ukraine diplomatically but worse militarily.

Agree with Jock on what he said but remember Hungary is in Nato they are protected and they need it as much everyone else does the MIGHT of the Americans English, France and German miltary protects them. Ukraine has noone for what I have seen Ukriaine has done very well to stay in the war for the past two years and not giving ground to the Russians with western support of course but for small military they done something that not many could do. Nato did the right thing in the first place and put troops in to Ukraine in beginning and told Putin to fuck off there have been no war. Russia taking Nato on in a conventional war would have been a complete disaster for Russia and got their asses kick. It came down to a weak western leaders could not act to do the right thing you had 8 weeks knowing he was going invade I remember Biden telling us so and yet Nato did nothing. As much I want peace for Ukriane for what cost comming into the fold of Nato and Europe would help Ukriane it would even help Russia to bad no one sees that. It would take 20 years but at least corruption would have diminished as you all tell me how corrupt they are believe me every country has corruption. Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.

The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.

A very courageous move by Orban to go to Kyiv and Russia to try and seek a diplomatic solution to the crisis. He should be applauded for his actions and not condemned for them. This war will only end when Nato decide to end it when they realise that the war that they instigated has miserably failed achieving nothing but thousands of Ukrainian and Russian lives.
EU Foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said "Orban doesn't have any mandate to visit Moscow".
To say the truth, he doesn't have a mandate either to talk in the name of EU, since nobody did vote for him.
To sum up his career, he's done so much things in his life, expressed so many valid ideas, that his page on Facebook has less than 500 followers. Mine, as a tattoo artist, has 16000.
Thus, EU is absolutely not valit to talk in the name of european nations, that have been betrayed by their leaders and put in the hands of useless, souless and brainless politicians of zero interest.

Well done PM Orban great initiative for peace, Putin have been generous by only asking Ukraine to withdraw from the 4 regions, NATO and EU should take this offer immediately, otherwise it will only be worse for them.
What a ridiculous statement. Would you want to give up your country’s territory if Putin launched an invasion on your soil? The solution to this conflict is simple; Russia can withdraw its military and the war will end immediately.
