Such a rad moment. I normally don't have the audio up very high these days during movies, but the subwoofer was bumping in that scene. Damn good movie.
Lord of Illusions is such an underrated banger. Scott Balula nails it and you can never go wrong with Clive Barker. Great choice for a recommendation on a movie that flies way under the radar.
Just watched "Civil War" based off your recommendation. Great pic! I was also pleasantly surprised by the lack of politics and just a human story. Thanx for the recommendation !
I loveeeeeee Mirrors so much, it doesnt get alot of love but its 1 of my all time favourite horror movies so glad to see it on the list... also another great movie I've just recently watched is New Life....really worth checking out.....awesome list as always KB
Cant wait to watch this video man. Since discovering your channel, I've been hooked. Your recommendations are always fantastic, and I love how enthusiastic you are. Can't wait to give this one a watch.
You ABSOLUTELY made my day showing The Collector and the news on part 3. I recommend this movie all the time and part 2. First I think the actor is great who also played the husband of Jennifer in Criminal Minds. The flow is really good and for only doing everything in one house with so few ppl it kept you guessing. I enjoyed how creativity and intelligent the writer maintained a really good film. And dude you just keep pulling out so many really old fantastic films. Illusionist is a great film with twists of Cthulhu lore within. I also like Scott Bakula and seeing him in a new way instead of Sam from Quantum leap. A great episode! Also another film I always recommend is The Autopsy of Jane Doe.
@GhostPirateEntertainment Thanks for the exciting, "breaking news" update regarding the 3rd film in The Collector series. It's great to learn that filming has resumed and will ultimately see a proper release. Cheers!
Great list! Thanks for giving The Collector, Mirrors, and Lord of Illusions a boost. Lord of Illusions was my introduction to Clive Barker. 😀And of course the other movies on this list (I have yet to see Love Lies Bleeding but I trust your judgement) are great!
Had no idea that The Collector had a sequel. Looking it up I see that it's entitled "The Collection". Guess I know what movie I'm hunting down this weekend.
Love Lies Bleeding is worth the watch for the performances alone, the main actors just disappear into their roles. But that ending! (It’ll leave slot of people divided in a love/hate sort of way)
Another great Alien flick, that never gets mentioned is The Hidden. The Shallows starring Blake Lively, never is mentioned. Talk about a terrifying, kick ass film about survival!
Hi, Thanks for another great list. Splinter 2008, Monsters 2010, Grabbers 2012, and The Cured 2017 are four of my favorite unappreciated horror/ sci-fi favorites.
So glad the third Collector film is back on. My introduction was The Collection (part 2) with no real idea what I was getting into and it blew me away. The first one was just as good but smaller scale and I watched it after. Thoroughly enjoyed both fims, very excited for the next! Great list btw, Mandy has got to be in my top 10 all time horror films but I realize it's not everyone's jam. 😂
Would love for you to react to the Speak No Evil (2024) trailers that dropped. I don't know how to feel about it, please show me the way, lol! My husband and I watched the 2022 original Danish version at your suggestion and thought it was incredible, subtle horror. Not sure it needed to be remade and wonder if this will launch a stream of (bad?) American remakes of Scandinavian and/or European horror films similar to the Japanese invasion of the early 2000's.
There’s only ONE question related to the upcoming remake: Do they have the balls to make a movie as dark and horrifying as the original? The first one is one of the most deeply disturbing films I’ve EVER seen. I sought out the writer & director on Facebook to tell him that. We talked. Great guy…with a TWISTED mind apparently
I loved the original but have no interest in the remake. The trailer reveals way too much, looks dumbed down, and also looks as though they have them fight back, which completely ruins the point of the movie. The acting looks solid, but that doesn't make up for the negatives. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
@@raldors7499I actually came away thinking the exact opposite if the couple find out in time to fight back is the only way I'll watch it I don't need to see the same sad ending twice it has to be different or count me out
I’ll definitely check out Mandy (seems Cage is currently the movie prince!), as well as Love Lies Bleeding. I remember Lord of Illusions very well. Great Clive Barker flick; probably rented it thru Blockbuster back in the day; ha, ha. Will take another look to see how it holds up in 2024. Thanx much for today’s list!
Kainan, have you seen The New Daughter starring Kevin Costner? It's creepy & has some gore in it. It's never mentioned. Please check it out, if you haven't. I know you'll love it. Mandy is freaking awesome! I love the sword/ax he creates! Looks medieval! The colors & scenery are frigging weird but cool.
I always come to your vids to pick out a movie because you always have a guaranteed solid list! I'm gonna watch Love Lies Bleeding because of this and I'm so excited! Also, the sequel to The Collector is equally good, if not better!
Time to update my watchlists again. The only one I didn't expect to see on here was "Lord of Illusions." I saw that when it first came out and a couple times since then. I still love it along with "In The Mouth of Madness."
@@aces553 I can see how it could seem dumbed down, definitely campy as hell. Maybe it came out at a time in my life I needed super camp??? Also, huge fan of White Wolf RPG and I love seeing powers portrayed. Interesting use of dominate- type ability with the puppet bodies.
Abigail is way UNDERATED! Really had best time watching it than any of these OVERATED pieces of ripoff shit like Longlegs, Maxinne, First Omen and Immaculate just to get our money!
I just watch Sick because of you. I’ve already recommended it to my closest horror buddies. Solid slasher, I had sweaty palms through out the whole film!!!!😊
Absolutely agree with you about Clive Barker’s LORD OF ILLUSIONS, G.P. Scott Bakula is great as occult gumshoe Harry D’Amour, and if nothing else, LORD at least serves as a more than adequate proof of concept for either a sequel or two, or maybe even for a prestige format series on one of the better pay cable or streaming websites.
Great recommendations. I LOVED Love Lies Bleeding. I’m still thinking about it weeks after watching it. Great acting, great visuals, amazing characters and very crazy. It’s a wild crazy ride!
Lord of Illusions is easily the best on your list. I've seen it so many times and want to see it so many more times. "I've come back to bring you the wisdom of the grave." Best quote from the film.
Lord of Illusions is SOOOooo underrated. It's one of my favorite movies, and Nix is so terrifying when he reanimates. Also, The Collector is a really fun film to watch. Totally far fetched, but it's like Home Alone for psychopaths ; I love it. EDIT : Another classic that holds a special place in my heart is PHANTASM and the sequels. FUN movies. Jeepers Creepers, 30 Days of Night, Terrifyer, are also wonderful. I've never heard of Love Lies Bleeding and it's on my list now. Ed Harris RULES ! The ABYSS is one of my favorites, too.
Amazing to hear that there will be Collector 3. Both Collector and Collection were fantastic horror movies. Instant classics. So I really wonder how are they going to top it!
Great list KB! Civil War was good at showing what siding with Left, Right, Up, Down politics does to society, but I thought it was boring in it's execution. Abigail so fun, nice throw back to the good old days. Sick was so good, wasn't frightened to talk about some of the foolish behavior people were doing in the pandemic. There's a fire stunt that is just so good! Mirrors is underrated. Most check out the rest on your list. Thanks KB
'47 Meters Down' is easily the most underrated on this list 🙌 My daughter had a "Shark Phase" in her teens with every shitty D grade shark movie there was. This had Mandy Moore and looked like another POS... I watched it and was shocked 😲 It was the most edge of your seat movie I think I've ever seen... excellent! The guy that did this also made 'The Fall' He knows how to get your heart thumping. Top 3 best Shark movies ever
Great list - only one I haven’t seen is Lord of Illusions and I’m about to get Max again for Hard Knocks and Penguin so I’ll check it out soon…. Love the Collector movies and I’m pumped the third one is back on!!
This is a rare time that I've seen quite a few of these, but as always completely agree with your reviews. That said, there are still some that I have not seen & have put on my list like: Sick, 47 Meters Down & Love Lies Bleeding. Mandy is such an awesome ride of a movie! Mirrors is also such a wonderful horror movie where Kiefer Sutherland is great as always. I'm also a Huge fan of Lord of Illusions!
"The Collector" and "The Collection" were fantastic! It is really a shame what happened to the third movie "The Coll3cted". How the hell do props get stolen from a movie set? I also heard & read the rumblings about the project getting off the ground, but I will believe it when I see it.
Thank you so much for recommending The Collector. Can't believe I missed this one. Sooooo good!!! I had to avert my eyes more than once. Is the sequel worth a watch?
Funny coincidence that the Harris campaign ad popped up during the Civil War trailer😄 Loved Monkey Man! Got Abigail queued up for tonight! 47 Meters Down, totally agree.
Because I just watched it last night, and I think it fits in the horror/thriller category, I highly HIGHLY recommend Julia's Eyes. The Collector is one of my favorite hidden gem horror movies. Both the first and second one. It's already on my list for a rewatch. Lord of Illusion is huge too. I disagree with the CGI though. Some of it was bad even when it was brand new, and it does pull you out of the film. No one should let that stop them from seeing it though. This is a one of a kind film that I really wish there was more of.
I'd love if they shared a bit more back story about the collector himself. This is where it differs from Saw where he punishes misdeeds or wasted lives. We know the collector is intelligent and is probably an mechanical engineer but he appears to just be a psycho. A bit of background about why he collects or how he got into it would be great. Although I know I will love it anyway because I loved the first two. Watched them multiple times.
I thought Civil War was wonderful. I have friends that are Far Right / Far Left that didn't like the movie at all. I tried to explain to them; This is not a political movie, this is a movie on what happens when politics fails and how that may go down. Mandy is criminally underrated...love this film!
Love Lies Bleeding was SO FREAKING good!
Lord of Illusions is a 90's gem!

mandy is criminally overrated. fuckin shit film
Abigail dancing to Danzig’s “Blood and Tears!”🖤🤘🏼🖤
Does the trailer give everything away?
Such a rad moment. I normally don't have the audio up very high these days during movies, but the subwoofer was bumping in that scene. Damn good movie.
Mandy was OUTSTANDING 🎊 🎉!!!! It was deliciously gory and savage. The ‘Cage’ crushed it.
Yeah I Love how Cage is literally Covered in Blood by the end of the movie 😅
I wish the vampire element wasn't revealed in the trailer for Abigail.
Yes me too but still a Good Movie 👍
Agreed. I would have liked to have been in the dark like the characters were.
Still enjoyed it.
