I think the reason why the bike parking is free is that Hamamatsu is a kind of motor city for bikes. Suzuki, Honda, and Yamaha are in the region, and the free parking is kind of preferrential treatment for bikers by the city.
Hamamatsu is definitely on my list of Cities I Need to Go, looks like a great vibe! And who can resist a museum with crabs just walking around? this was really fun, thanks as always!
It’s awesome seeing you guys exploring these areas right near my home here in Shizuoka!! I’ve also been to their kite festival there and it was so awesome to see. Definitely recommend people go to it if they’re nearby at the time of the festival. That instrument museum was soooo unreal going to as a guitarist and my boyfriend is a pianist so it was really something. Also one of your magnets is a daruma doll, they have one of the biggest daruma festivals in Japan also in the prefecture. I wonder if that’s what that one is about! :)
Hey guys, if you do decide to come back for Golden Week next year, hit me up. Happy to meet up and help with lodging, transportation, etc. Btw, yes, Yamaha Motor and Music are located here. There are actually 2 tours you can go on, one at the piano factory and the other at the instruments factory, and they super interesting. Also, the Yamaha Motor museum is nicer than Suzuki's (IMHO). That's located in Iwata, close to me, about 20 minutes from Hamamatsu.
we are planing to be there for the kite festival, we have a place booked and will be on Scooty so all that is sorted. Any suggestions of places to eat or side explorations are welcome! Not sure if we'd have time to meet up, the filming can take up a lot of time on trips, unfortunately, hope you understand. -E
Haven't been to Hamamatsu yet. But, there are two things that I know about the place. There is a torii gate in the water, and that brings back fond memories of when I first came to Japan a decade ago. As I remember seeing it from the shinkansen on my way to Kyoto, and thinking that it looked pretty cool. And I also know that Hamamatsu are famous for their unagi (one of my favourite dishes in Japan).
Wow! I'm really glad to find this video. They introduce my city in English! Anyone has plan to come visit this festival held in May this year? We can hang out together if you want. I'm Japanese man 35years old, I may be there with friends!
Oh man I hope you guys do go back to see the kite wars! Also i knew Tako was octopus but sometimes I forget things in Japanese have multiple meanings lol.
You are in the Valley of the Wind, Nausicaa. I had a Suzuki Intruder 800cc and it was fun and scary at the same time (especially on the interstate in the US). I was thinking about buying another bike (Honda Rebel 1100 DCT) but I would probably just fall off. 🙃 EDIT- just started playing Starfield. i'm ready to get lost in a immersive world for a few 100 hours.
Someone seems to love his scooter. 😃My first motorcycle was a mid 1980s Suzuki GS250F that I bought in the mid 1990s in Kansai. It even had an analog gear indicator. Go Suzuki. Yamaha and Honda re much bigger but you still put on some good stuff.
must say that hamamatsu maybe is not really in the focus of a lot of tourists, but it does seem interesting, the matsuri seems very particular, and the rest seems cool too
In 1887, the Hammamatsu City Organ broke down. Torakusu Yamaha was called in to fix it. (McGuyver) He thought "I can make this better!" Yamaha music industry was born. Torakusu never saw a motorcycle that his company built, later. Japan has a fascinating history.
Eek, don't the poor little crabs get stepped on by people? Or... don't they pinch people's toes? I'd freak out if I looked down and saw that inside a building!
I'm in Hokkaido filming right now. Prayers a bear doesn't eat me, pls.

Hamamatsu was the first place in Japan I visited, a school trip in 1995. We went to the kite museum and dunes, thanks for bringing back fond memories

There's a REALLY good Japanese film called Woman in the Dunes that was filmed very near Hamamatsu.
The restaurant is Gyoza Mutsugiku 餃子むつぎく, just a couple blocks south of the Hamamatsu station.
That food looked so good!
Always amazing content, great video!
I enjoy all the little outtake clips!
I especially love your 食レポ as always.
Keep going!!
I always super enjoy your museum videos 👍🏻🤘🏻♥️

The torii in the water is over at Bentenjima :)
It produce a lot of great vegetables in Hamamatsu.
I love it as always. You rock!
Thank you for this. I've added Hamamatsu to my list!
Wow!

Fantastic video :-) Thank you!
Stil amazing beautiful Japan.
I pictured the crab with a little top hat and cane, a distinguished patron of the museum 😂

I visited Chibi Maruko-chan Land in S-Pulse Dream Plaza. You guys should make a trip and video there! :D It was a lot of fun!
Funny enough, modern e-bikes look a lot like old motorcycles. A bike with some stuff slapped on it.
My old stomping grounds,from 2001.

I had a cat that lived to be 21! Her name was Perky 😊
I was hoping for a kite fight! Maybe next time, great video.
Kites, crabs visiting a museum, after wedgie reviews and cornflake cookies? If that's not a reason to hit subscribe, I don't know what is.
As a visitor of Hamamatsu, I was very curious seeing how much Hamamatsu there actually is!
Gyozaaaaah 🤤
I love magnets, my fridge is partially covered with magnets from Japan 😂

Funny, Kyde has a Japanese accent when saying the word "Industry". I think Yamaha is the largest makers of musical instruments on the planet.
Wow, where did you get that Screenmate?!? I had it ages ago, it was called Screenmate Poo (!) but it will not run on windows now… so cool!
Please go to Mt. Osore(恐山). There are scenes that show the beliefs of the Japanese people (Tohoku people).

I was just wondering, what's the best beach town in Japan? As in, combo of warmest beaches and cutest town.
To be honest you probably need to go somewhere in Okinawa, but we aren't experts on beach stuffs. -E
The fake turtle enclosure is probably protecting turtle eggs in the sand.
The turtles know to lay eggs in the cage?
@@kydeanderic More like, the cage was placed after the turtles laid their eggs there.
@@jeynalimhrm, interesting theory, but that cage has been there for quite a long time.
@@kydeanderic Hmmm now that's very bizarre

Y'all are funny. You tell us that museum videos are boring, then you make museum videos that are not boring.
It's hard to do haha, depends on the museum itself quite a lot. -E
