- Barbara Walters interviews Linda Evans sometime during the mid-1980s at her home in Beverly Hills. She discusses her ex-husband John Derek and him leaving her for an unknown teenager named Bo; her career and her lack of ambition; and reveals what she would ask for if she was granted three wishes.
Linda is now 80 and still beautiful. More importantly she’s wise, kind and a lovely lady. Linda would have been a wonderful mother.

Barbara insists that physical beauty institutes happiness, but I love how Linda says that you will be more beautiful with age and wisdom! And that she is more pleased with her journey than her appearance!!!
And yet, Linda went through her share of plastic surgeries...it's easy to say that you get more beautiful as you get older but it's another thing to actually feel more beautiful as you age.

She is a wise, gentle, loving inspiring woman. Strong and her inner peace shines. She is a true legend.
I love her realness and being who she authentically is inside. When she said "I love my eyes.." and explained being able to understand and see herself was great.

Linda Evans is (still in 2022!) a stunningly beautiful and truly wonderful human being. And the best looking blonde ever to be seen on screen. A Scandinavian goddess with incredible blue eyes full of warmth and light. All about her is quality and class combined with a very kind and soft femininity. I am a straight woman myself but if I were a man: She would have been a dream come true. She deserves so much love, care and admiration! 🏆💫✨
I can't understand why people write trash about someone on these comments, if you don't like the show or person they are about why watch them. Linda Evans is a kind hearted and beautiful woman, ok so she had some bad plastic surgery later in life but that doesn't change who she is, she's still the same person just older, we all grow old, no one can escape it.

Classy and very beautiful lady, and in fact her looks were at their best at when she was 40. As for John Derek, I am no psychologist, but it seems to me he never really loved any of those remarkable women, he was just a trophy collector.
He was married with bo derek for 22 years...so,and her name is always derek.,so...
She, i meant Linda, lost her youth for John Derek, who did not deserved her. You should read the book by John Derek's daughter to get a clear picture of how John was.John was an aweful mean person. A narcissist.

@@micheladerry5681 Yes, Linda is the nicest and the kindest and and the sweetest and a most generous person. John did not deserved indeed. He used her and cheated on her. But, at that time, she was very young, naive and so much in love. Since then, she had done beautifully.
He was too in love w/himself to be selfless enough to love any woman the way she deserved to be….a narcissist & a Svengali.
Linda have Norwegian ancestry, not hard to see, tall, blond and piercing blue eyes. Absolutely gorgeous.

The world was so cosy,happy and nice in the 80s,90s and early 2000s and god how I miss it. Now everyone is so woke that it has turned into hate and jealousy of each other and people have become so trashy and stupid.

I am always fascinated by how when people are so gorgeous, how they feel getting older and their looks change.I am just a somewhat average guy who does his best to make sure I look presentable, and some days (like this morning) I look in the mirror and just got WTF ? Makes me never want to be seen in daylight..and getting older is hard..so much upkeep..so I cannot imagine when a man or woman who has been a beauty their entire life and those looks start to go...it has to be hard..maybe some just pay no thought and life goes on, but for others it has to be almost debilitating.
I think there is a lot of truth in what you're saying. And it's especially hard for women. I wish society wasn't so obsessed with looks and more interested in someone's character.
To quote Joan Collins : The problem with beauty is that it's like being born rich and getting poorer" ...so yes, it's devastating

Wow, what a centered, kind woman. And yes, later she did have plastic surgery, but women really can't win. If they have none, everyone is aghast that they're no longer beautiful and have wrinkles, and if they have some, everyone is aghast that they went under the knife. I think a little bit of surgery is fine when done tastefully if it makes you feel better. Getting old is hard, make no mistake. You'll see once that sagging starts, lol.

She seems like she would be a wonderful mother, but it’s not sad. We all carve different paths out for ourselves and oftentimes it doesn’t involve kids. It seems as though she’s more at peace today at 80 than most people are.

Barbara Walters has knack of asking direct real frank questions but also making her celebrities easy in answering, that is sign of person who makes others comfortable first which is good sign of person who is secure and nice in their own persona otherwise it is not possible to be so consistent, yes and non-threatening to others more so with women of celebrity circus who are notorious for being hypersensitive and insecure. Putting people to ease is a good quality.

I thiught Linda Evans was so pretty, the first time i saw her was on a beach blanet bingo movie with Frankie Avalon. I was a teenager having fun and my cousin and i went to theatres and were boy crazy. THE GUYS BACK THEN WERE GOOD LOOKING TOO. I HAD A BIG CRUSH ON TONY DOW, TROY DONAHUE, BOBBY VINTON AND VINCE EDWARDS, I REMEMBER ALOT OF THOSE DAYS VERY VIVIDLY, I AM 67 NOW.🙊🙋♀️GOODNESS

Why did Barbara always insist on asking women 'Do you think you're beautiful'... it's aggravating. She did the same thing with Farrah Fawcett and Michelle Pfeiffer. Her own insecurities and jealousy had to be pushed down their throat. As if they couldn't be anything more.

Bc those were the themes the media focused on. It was a time when we had no social media and knew basically nothing about these stars. It was always only about their looks, fashions, partners or scandalous behavior. And so that’s what they were asked about in interviews

I honestly can't understand why any celebrity would willingly be interviewed by Barbara Walters. Walters always comes across - at least to me - as way too nosy and intrusive, asking 'rude' questions and doing so without a trace of compassion or empathy.

Gosh, Barbara Walters was just as toxic then, as she was later in life. This really puts into perspective that her cattiness wasn't all just an act at The View. She really is a piece of work.

It's funny they talk about getting old and she had just turned 40. Nowadays, 40 is the new 30s.

John must have been a rare man, I don't judge him because they were kind to him and they preferred to remain close to him despite the always next wife, rather than hate him and leave him. A treasure must be shared! Also these women look like sisters which is another relevant factor in their strong forgiving connections

@udhoop..I was thinking the same thing.......hindsight is 20/20 . Oprah was did a show with ageing Hollywood Women and Ali McGraw was one of them and she was very honest about ageing.

John Derek was a jerk who used 3 EXTRAORDINARILY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN. These 3 women were too good for him; however, they (especially Ursula & Linda) went on to become great successes in spite of john derek. Good for them!!
