- Ta and I had the great pleasure of staying 2 nights at the 4 Star Centre Point Hotel Silom, with all expenses being taken care of by very generous US subscribers, Will & Gee.
Will & Gee’s great romance started when Gee travelled overseas from Thailand to study in the US. Fast forward 21 years and their marriage is still going strong.

Just talked with my son. They just got back from Korea. His daughter and her fiancé are visiting. I told him to look at your vlog. They were planning on staying one night in Bangkok...and he reserved a river view suite. Thought you'd get a kick out of that. He was really impressed and happy that it was close walking distance to things.

I remember the land the Centre Point Hotel sits on used to be a large, open air market. I lived in a building across the street from the hotel. I’m amazed how much the area has changed in 30-plus years. The nearby Shangri-la Hotel was just being built when I left Thailand in the early ‘80s. Thanks for the video, Brad. It brought back memories. 😌

The view is spectacular! The view of the river at night that you showed is simply jaw-dropping!

The gym and the executive lounge are very nice indeed!
No question that the location of the hotel is excellent. I especially liked how the pier was close by.

Upload/download speed seems real fast so if you wanted to upload a vlog or download a movie, it will happen pretty fast on both fronts.

Hello Brad and Ta, you guys sure know how to make a guy miss Thailand. Especially this video. I'm Canadian and your wearing Roots Canada shirts. You stayed very near to where I stayed my 1st time in Thailand, in fact, we would walk from our hotel about 10minutes to that BTS station, and had many cups of coffee at that Starbucks. That 30-year-old unfinished Hotel was our landmark to know which way to head back to our Hotel at night time. I asked people about that building but no one seemed to know anything about it. I heard it was suppose to be a Condo and the builder ran out of money. I have video of that area and of one of the boat tours we took from there and of the Asiatique River walk area, very lovely. I'm still working on my video skills so I don't yet get the views you folks do. I had a couple questions for you Brad, because you live fulltime in Thailand do you have medical insurance which you purchased there or back in Austrialia? Can a Farang even buy medical insurance once in Thailand? I'm coming back in Dec. and Searching for the insurance for the 5 months I'm staying is expensive from here. Should I bother or just pay for doctor visit in the event I need to go which I hope I do not. BTW, anyone is welcome to add there input to these questions. Thanks in advance. I can't wait to be on my way back to Thailand.

Insurance is just to prevent you from worrying about the potential of having to spend a lot of money if, heaven forbid, something goes wrong during your time in Thailand.
Are you healthy now? Do you have a history of health issues? Do you have adequate savings should misfortune strike? Are you a gambling man?
Visiting a Doctor and buying medication in Thailand is cheap.
It's also relatively cheap to have an operation, but you do need the available funds to pay for the operation and the money is often required to be paid up front.
I do have health insurance and that's simply because I don't have adequate savings if I health issues do strike.

If you are generally healthy, you may want to consider just buying accident insurance. This type of policy can be purchased from many of the banks.

I like the photos of the breakfast buffet rather than just a video. For Wifi speed, anything over 20 MBps (megabits -NOT megabytes)/second is good. For comparison, a HD video being played online needs a consistent 5 MBps. Those are amazing speeds. They must have a fiber connection.

I looked at the costs. I see $100.00 /night. Is this about right? For me this is very low for this level of quality room. Is this correct? Wow, if so I can not wait!

I guess that there's always deals to be had with the various booking websites, but the average including breakfast would be around $120 - $130 per night.

Yes, that is correct. I found the same. Discounts are good right now.
We stayed in the same room type twice, once in April (7 nights, booked 3 weeks in advance) and once in August (6 nights, booked 3 months in advance) this year, and paid 5700 Baht and 4500 Baht per night respectively (including tax and service charge). Breakfast included both times.

Good video Brad. My Isan girl and I will be spending the first week of July 2019 in Bangkok. I am interested in this hotel since it is close to everything we want to do. I told her she looks enought like Ta that they could be cousins. Of course I was told that there was no way that was possible. Maybe we can meet up for dinner? I'll keep in touch.

How is it so easy to check in? When I went to Thailand my parents would take about 20-30min. That’s when I was young and I didn’t care much about checking in, but I know it took way longer then you guys
