Thank you for this video! Very helpful! I am new to Gimbal's, and this is the first one that I've tested. I'm having issues with it as I find it doesn't hold the same angle when I point the iPhone towards the ground. If I am standing up with the camera facing forwards, than start to point the camera towards the ground, it's like my iPhone 13 Pro is too heavy and the "Strength" fails and it flips. I don't know how to explain it. To keep yours upright, and following a subject or object, do you use the face tracker while in sport mode???
I should be receiving my DJI within a frw hours and I wiil find myself a ruin here in the Dominican Republic and put imto practice what I just learned from this video… thank you for keeping it simple you have gained a new subscriber. 💪
Bro i was gonna get om6 since i was having issues with my s22 ultra + OM5 combo and turns on the gimbal was terrible. Well this video convinced me to use my samsung camera app to make some recordings instead of DJI app. I will definitely give a shot. Cause i believe the DJI app itself doesnt doesnt have good stabilizer option but Samsung Does. My hand recording on a native app better than my gimbal shots with DJI App. So if i can manage to record with native app i believe i dont need any other gimbal so far. Thank you for a very detailed oriented video. I couldnt find any quality content as good as yours before including DJI How to Guides. Thank you again!
Thanks for this. You do a great job at explaining things. I just bought the OM5 and have discovered when I use OM5 with iPhone ultra wide lens you can see the gimbal arm if the phone sways to the right. So you can still use ultra wide, but keep an eye on your right edge. I'm using FilmicPro.
You are seriously the best. I just found your channel and I love it. You make all of this so much easier to understand. Thank you for making these videos. About to subscribe and binge all of them!
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial, Benett! I just found your channel and subscribed immediately! Can you share some thoughts please on how to filming with iPhone inside from a moving car? Would be some very helpful tips for some of us who like to film road trips… What kind of stabilization method or phone mount is proper for eliminate those “ups” and “downs” on a country dirty road? Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Unfortunately there aren’t any Smartphone gimbals that have a five access stabilization currently Some bigger gimbols offer that so you will have to compensate for the up-and-down movement with your arms. And when it comes to shooting vehicles I would work with a lot of pushing and push out movement! To get the best stabilization either use the wide or ultra wide angle lens. Try to get interesting shots with your phone since it’s so small you can place it almost anywhere to get interesting shots. You could for example tape it on top to create an overhead shot
Thank you for putting this together. The ideas for the types of shots are very inspirational. Can you comment on which mode you are using (follow vs tilt lock) ?. I recently bought the OM5 and am struggling with the phone moving in angles / direction that I don't want it to move
Thanks for the prompt reply. When you use it, everything looks so simple. I am having the hardest time using this gimbal. It rotates randomly even when I am in pan tilt lock. I have to recalibrate every time I turn on the gimbal. Hats off to you for mastering this. I am going to return it. Surely not my cup of tea.
Superb & awesome guide for a beginner like me. Just purchased my Dji Osmo Mobile 5, and going to shoot the video of my wife’s convocation this weekend! Hopefully everything when well 😊 Thanks for the guide video
Thanks, Benett, I learned a lot about filmmaking through watching your tutorial. I don't have expensive equipment, so using the app on my phone really helped.
One of the difficulties I have with a gimbal, is that as a vlogger I want good audio, so I add an external mic to my phone. It is sitting on the side of the phone. From what I see, the OM5 keeps the phone free and gives room to do so, but is the OM5 able to handle that 'extra weight' propperly? And then... how about when we add a small fill light to that set also? That would be the perfect vlog setup.
Thanks for you suggestion! I got many questions on that, i think this topic would be great for a video. I will have to do more tests, will work on it :)
There’s not much left from the Alt-Regensberg Castle, but still a great location for shooting nice clips. Das Pressieren hat sich gelohnt 😜😜 Frohe Weihnachten mein lieber 🎄🎄
Bennett, Great vid, easy to follow, and excellent demonstrations. If using the native camera app, did you first have to set the gimbal to tilt locked to maintain the tilt?
Amazing tutorial and it's really useful for me. What's your recommendation for biginner? I want to start to create my first cinematic video, but I am so confused, what can I do for beginner.
Very informative. By chance do you know how to switch the export in app? I accidentally pushed upload to Instagram always and now I can't switch it back to RUclips or sms.
Hi Bennet, I hope you're good. I wanted to clarify that if you are using the native app with the DJI OM 5 (I am getting to grips with this combo), this then negates the Gimbal controls for stop/start and zoom video recording etc? Thanks

90% of the time I use the pan tilt mode as it locks the roll motor and follows my hand movement
Thanks for the prompt reply. When you use it, everything looks so simple. I am having the hardest time using this gimbal. It rotates randomly even when I am in pan tilt lock.
