Exactly. I remember a pod episode late last year where Flip brought up his contract re-up and he went into Joe, his boss in the show and everyone went silent. I would have fired Flip there and then for disrespecting him about the numbers on a platform that he doesn't own. I don't mind if Flip officially leaves the podcast at some point so that I don't hear about the numbers of a podcast he doesn't own or is in charge of.

We need the Kendrick of podcasting. A lot of these guys have an ick factor. Until Joe is willing to get talent that may actually surpass him on the show, and a bona fide woman who isn't too bookish (Ebony K Williams), too male-identified (Remy/Jess Hilarious), or too meek (Melissa), he will continue to leave a lane open. I watched a younger cc break down his fit the other day, and he was clowning him like a grandpa. He doesn't know how to work with breakout talent with independent voices, like Rory and Flip. The rest of his crew is not as hungry as him, and don't threaten his spot at all. I'm a little older than Joe, so I know what it's like to develop people and be willing to let them fly when it's time. That's real boss behavior. He should be mentoring folks like Savon, AND letting them eat. He would be revered in the end. He's going to flame out with no respect at the end. Kendrick taught a masterclass on this yesterday. Joe is going to be the podcast Diddy , in terms of not developing people and learning to win with others.

In regards to this particular piece of content…There’s no mystery to this shit. Joe and Flip have been throwing subs and arguing about his contract damn near the entire time flip has been on. I think flip enjoyed the extra money but in his heart of hearts he HATES that by accepting that check Joe is in a position to Son him and say shit he wouldn’t say to flip in any other scenario. On top of the fact that Joe probably has a valid argument that he doesn’t really contribute much to anything outside of random ass anime segments and wrestling. But the bottom line will always come back to this….Joe is an AWFUL leader! This has been proven over and over and over again. He’s the exact type of person/personality that should never be in a position where people are beholden to him.
The current iteration of this pod will never reach its full potential because of the very obvious conflict of interest.
Imagine Stephen A Smith actually being the one to cut the checks for Molly and Shannon and whoever else they have on lmao. Joe’s saving grace will forever be his entertainment value. And ironically, him firing Mal and Rory and still finding a way to thrive works in his favor, because his current cast knows they are most likely expendable so they all play their part. Ish will bark but he NEVER bites.

I subscribed to the $50 tier for the Patreon exclusives & only kept it for a month (while flip was there). It was dry & wack af. I was very disappointed. Still love the pod but I’ll stick to the free content.
That being said, I didn’t like flip at first (too loud & rowdy) but one thing I did like about him is that he would check Joe. If they get rid of anyone it needs to be Melissa. She’s a bird. Bridget Kelly would cook their muffins. Move over Ish.
