I wonder if Joe thinks before he speaks. He said its not play play time but all the things he listed are still happening on the show. They say Ish always be late, Mel, Ish, and Flip will be dead quiet for 30-40 minute stretches and haven't watched or heard whatever they are talking about, when they talk substance he shuts it down, his cohosts clearly disregard each other ALL the time. At least in the RnM days it seemed like genuine conversation. Now they be forcing small talk that sounds rehearsed. I just don't understand what he be talking about. He's that delusional?

Maaan, Joe be talking to us like he hasn't been in the spotlight for 20+ years. Like we don't listen to the pod and observe how he moves. Talking about narratives. Dude, we see how you move! He really talks like he's a stand up guy and has never done anything wrong when MOST of the people he has worked with now have beef him. The JBP is cool and he is a GREAT podcaster but Joe probably isn't a good person or friend in real life. He has fallen out with too many people for that not to be the case. So when he gets on this high horse sh*t it really aggravates me.

I’ve been rewatching the pods since last year and I’m currently on 196 and man it’s really ashame how things ended up because they were all equally impactful and brought something to the table so to hear only Joe say now they weren’t doing anything or enough it’s really upsetting cuz he really convinced himself that that’s the truth of everything
This is a fact! I still listen to the old pods and it’s been many times that Rory and Mal brought in topics that Joe changed or clowned! Honestly, Rory was the first one to get them the bag with ads and networking.

It’s a little hard to push they didn’t work hard narrative lol when they’ve since came together and continue to push out pretty successful bi weekly podcast since the breakup . I feel as if they were truly lazy lol they would have fallen off big time in creating content since starting their own show lol but they’ve really kept it pushing.

I know Joe thinks about this often and this is the main reason he treats the new crew good. He still has issues but if any of them left and got to speaking on why they left and it’s Joe related, at some point Joe has to acknowledge he’s to blame and stop gaslighting his audience and even himself.

Real quick I immediately knew again that Rory and Mal were telling the truth when Crooked I, from slaughterhouse was trying to bring the group back together and said that the same way Joe treated Rory and Mal is exactly how he moved when it came to the group and Crooked I said he tired of pretending and calling Joe a “good dude or a brother”, because he never shows that same love back genuinely, it’s always drama with Joe.

Once again here is my issue with Joe. I agree that the podcast in a sense is “business” and you have to run it accordingly, but that’s where I think Joe got it wrong. A podcast with your friends that are always on the same page and have their business in order should be a fun/easiest business to run. Thats why I agree with what a lot of other podcasts be saying when they say “hey this should be fun because all we are doing is literally sitting on mics and reporting on breaking news on certain topics and having cool/serious dialogue.
This is exactly how the OG JBP started and that’s how it was going before the breakup. I get that this is Joe life line and basically his business that keeps him successful and feeds his family and he scared for it to fail, but as I’m hearing from his current and past listeners of his podcast it too “serious” or it’s doesn’t have the same “chill/easy listen” like it once did with Rory and Mal. And for Joe to ever deny that the chemistry he had with his “nearest and dearest” friends, wasn’t what help sell this podcast to a larger audience and help get him the big deals is disingenuous. No idea don’t believe for one second Joe wasn’t on “play-play” time as well on the podcast there was times he didn’t even want to cover topics Rory and Mal wanted to cover but aside from that they still made the podcast episode fun and enjoyable to listen to. So he has to stop painting the narrative that his two “nearest and dearest” friends didn’t take their job serious. Before that break up happened Rory and Mal are documented saying that they here to rock with Joe and keep this podcast alive, because they know what Joe been through in the past.
I keep saying if the breakup didn’t happen every year till present day no one could mess with Joe, Rory, and Mal when it came to impact and being a top tier podcast for the modern age.

This is was my favorite era of podcasting. I used to hate when the episodes ended, especially when it was just Wednesdays. The sleepers were fire, too. But this is life. Enjoy it while it’s hot because there will be a time to move on.

He even found a free studio for them to use since they weren't getting any money. Once they got a deal Joe never paid anybody for all the back pay. Kept the money.. Then he signed a deal and took a advance and never turned in a album. Then Rory and Mal.

This is the Joe I love! His passion for the JBP and his unmatched work ethic are top-tier. Agree or not, his takes are always solid. Mal, on the other hand, just wakes up and talks, thinking everything is corny and acting too cool. This attitude even spilled over onto the RnM pod, like when Eddin had to push him to discuss topics. Joe, Rory, and Mal had a magical run, but it got awkward and forced toward the end. Everyone’s thriving now, but the JBP is still the best. 🤷🏽♀️

I honestly prefer the Joe budden podcast as it is now than with Rory and Mal. The Rory and Mal podcast sucks to me. As long as Joe is there his podcast will thrive as long as he has host that can add value to the conversations and not just go whit the flow with lazy ass takes.

Joe is narrative king and makes it seem as if he has all the answers, all the time. But who else that is successful works with Joe? We’ve seen Kevin Hart get on Kai’s stream but we have yet to see someone of the caliber co-sign Joe and I wonder why. You scream that you’re #1 every week but the numbers will reflect differently. Joe just can’t get over the fact that Rory and Mal are still in the podcast space. They have maintained after 3 years, toured and continue to do so while Joe is still rotating chairs and playing the chemistry test. He was bitter when he was broke and shows that he’s still bitter now. And I still listen to the JBP but I can also admit that it’s not HALF as entertaining as it was when Rory and Mal were on.
