- November. Winter has come. There is not as much snow as in the last year.
My mission is quite simple: to set up a tarp shelter and cook steak on cast iron pan.
I met a lot of mushrooms along my way through winter forest.
It was really cold this time. So I didn't dressed warmly. I had to survive and keep warm with the heat of a cast iron pan. Fried meat and hot tea with marshmallows did their job too.
I decided not to start a fire and used a gas burner only.
This time I took a Forester knife with me and actively used it: chopping, planing, digging ... Bushcraft!
I have little experience with tarp setting. As always, I improvise and learn the basics of camping in practice.
First, I watched the training videos "How to set up tarp shelter", "Tarp shelter", etc., and then I went into the forest and tried to do it myself.

I love tarps. There is no wrong way to set them up, only configurations that don't suit your purpose at the time, but may be perfect for something else. They are easy to reconfigure if need be. Like every piece of equipment, the more you use it, the more you learn. Your meal looked amazing! 👍❤️🇨🇦

I enjoy your relaxation in the forest. You are my mushroom drummer icon. I have spent my liffe looking and working in the forest. Military and survival course's. All that was better than being around people for obvious reasons and all my dogs liked it as well.
