Watching someone discover Pentatonix for the first time is like watching a 4-year-old taste ice cream for the first time. We experience that joy right along with you. I love seeing your honesty and soft soul. Bless ya.

Starry sky is homage to astrophysicist Dr. Brian May, Queen guitarist. I heard that he posted this on his social media with the single word 'Enjoy.'

Brian May, Queen's guitarist, posted a link to this on his Facebook page with one word: "Enjoy" - which is pretty high praise. The references to the starry sky are a nod to Brian's Ph.D. in Astrophysics. Like everything else they do, you won't see a video if they can't do it live. As to perfection, that is one of their goals.

I couldn't help but notice that you said you want to check something out in the beginning frame and in the ending frame saying that you saw differences. You probably did. If you watch the behind-the-scenes you will see that during the filming of this when they were filming the part where the walls come back together the walls crashed back together. They broke the table they crashed everything in the scene so I'm pretty sure some things probably got broken if that's what you're talking about. A lot of their action videos have behind-the-scenes to them. I'm glad I subbed to your channel I have been watching some of your reactions to different artists and I really like the fact that you show your emotions. Thank you ✌❤😎

I can at least tell you why this rendition makes you tear up; you're catching the emotion Pentatonix put into it.
Pentatonix absolutely loves this song. They love Queen, and they love Freddie Mercury, to the point that every one of them wanted to "do" Freddie in this song, and they actually managed that (the final "Any way the wind blows" may sound like Mitch but it's actually coming from Kevin). This was one of the first songs Pentatonix wanted to cover, but it's a hard song to do properly. They were afraid that they'd botch it if they attempted it too early in their careers, which they would have seen as a tragedy. So they decided to wait until they knew they were ready. That took them five years, but it was worth the wait; they were definitely ready.

I love that reaction when Mitch starts to do the guitar solo with his mouth! And he does that live - the megaphone was just a prop for effect! They waited six years before they tackled this because they wanted to do it justice. Brian May really like is apparently and has said that Freddie would have loved it.

Ben Folds who was a judge on the Sing Off said surprises are rare gift in a musical arrangement, but PTX always has a few surprises. When you feel like you’ve really dived into their catalog (and Superfruit and some of the solo stuff), you should consider watching their Sing Off performances to understand their origin story.

Surprisingly I didn't see a comment that shares that the megaphone is just a prop - he recreates the guitar in live performances with just his voice. And, since you are interested in the performance aspect of things, there is a behind the scenes video of the making of this video - it took place in a parking lot through a whole night and it was COLD, you can see their breath a couple times in the video if you know to look. Their work ethic is clear. Second the rec for Sound of Silence - it's with Matt, their bass since 2017/18. And with the holiday season coming up, it'll be fun to dive into their extensive holiday catalog - as usual, you'll be blown away - and they do have some original holiday songs too. Look forward to more reactions because I love your enthusiasm and insightful comments.

You say that you've been given a gift. But you need to realize that you also are giving US a gift. I never would have thought that I'd become a reaction video addict. The first time I ever saw one a couple years ago, I remember saying "What the heck is this, and why in the world would I care what this total stranger's reaction is?" Now, there is rarely a night where I don't spend at least 2 hours watching my reaction videos. Over time, I've realized what it is. I can't go back in time and re-live the first time I heard a song. But the next best thing is seeing someone like you, hear/see something for the very first time, and seeing how it affects you, and it helps remind how I felt at that point. You know? I love it. I'm glad I've run in to you here.

Welcome to the wonderful rabbit hole known as pentatonix....First.. So, some things to know about this cover and video: -It took PTX years to get the arrangement to where they felt they could do the original masterpiece justice. -The cover, and especially the video, was meant to be an homage to Queen. Some of the moments paying respect were: The mono-recording of the line "easy come, easy go" followed by the panning of the voices from left to right on the line "little high, little low" (which is how the original was recorded), obviously the flashlights being used to mimic the lighting on the operatic part of the original video, the four shooting stars to represent the four members of Queen, as well as acknowledge the fact that Dr. Brian May is an astrophysicist, and the overhead shot of them lying on the couch is to represent the Sheer Heart Attack album cover. -The megaphone was just a prop. It is not needed to reproduce the electric guitar distortion. -PTX can, and does, perform this live with no backing track...something even Queen and the Great Freddie Mercury could not do. -Freddy once said he didn't care what people did with his music as long as they "...don't make it boring, darling!", so I think he would absolutely approve. -The overall video--with the "living room" and couch--is an homage to Pentatonix's own journey as a group. They lost their record deal right after winning the Sing Off and moving to LA, so they started putting out videos on RUclips, performing covers. They would sit on the couch in Kevin (beatboxer) and Avi's (bass) living room and just record themselves on Mitch's (counter tenor who took the lead on this song) iPad. Some of their earliest videos went viral and they eventually were able to secure a new deal, record an EP, go on tour, release chart-topping albums and win three Grammy awards...so they moved out of the living room and down this new, unknown road. At the end of the day, though, they're still the same choir-nerds they've always been; just happy to sit together on a couch and sing. Also when brian mays of queen heard this he posted the video on his web site with the word..."ENJOY".....NOW ABOUT PENTATONIX........They won the 2011 sing off and took off from there. They've won 3 grammys for daft punk, dance of the sugar plum fairies, and jolene w/ dolly parton all 3 are highly recomended. There are so many videos in their catalog...way too many to list but I will endevor to give you some choices for future reactions. some covers are Bohemian rhapsody (quite simply the finest cover of that classic rock song), wizard of ahhhs ( a collection of 17 pop songs arranged to tell the classic story of wizard of oz), mad world, the prayer, royals, carol of the bells, say something, radioactive, can you feel the love tonite, problem, evelotion of music, little drummer boy, my favorite things, 12 days of christmas, god rest ye merry gentlemen, and so many more....some originals include...sing, happy now, love me when u dont, coffee in bed, be my eyes, never gonna cry again, the lucky ones.....during the height of the pandemic....they released an album called "at home" (completely recorded in their own homes seperately and then mixed.....songs include...home, blinding lights, when the party's over, dreams, break my heart. Please do more pentatonix reactions. You may run into issues with the video being blocked...just put some sort of filter on the video...we really care about the music. As you do more pentatonix reactions more people will subscribe to your channel as us fans of pentatonix called pentaholics luv seeing people react to their extensive library of videos. @tnae  2 года назад +2

Yes people have been mentioning the behind the scenes of that one to me a lot, actually.
As for being able to see the videos: The way I have them set up is that they are all going to be listen here and on my patreon (here on the "General Admissions" level and on Patreon at the "Season Ticket Holders" tier) first and then they will be made availible to the "Standing Room Only" level (which is the one you're on) one at a time about a week apart from each other and about one to two weeks before they are published on RUclips for the public.
I know it may be frustrating but please understand that I put so much of my time and energy into these videos for all of you and so many of them (particularly pentatonix, forestella and nightwish) get copyright claimed which takes away even the small amount of money that I get from unclaimed videos. I love making this content for you but I have to find some way to justify the time I spend working on it.
Thank you so much for your support, it really does mean the world to me and so much to my family. I will do my best to give you as much value as I can in return.

To quote judge Ben Folds on The Sing Off in 2011, when PTX began their journey: "A surprise is a rare gift in an a capella arrangement, and you always give us one or two." Now, 11+ years later, they are still surprising us. (BTW, you may eventually want to watch their Song Off episodes, even if you don't do full-blown reactions ... although many in-depth reactors do cover all the episodes as reactions.). *ETA:* There is a Behind the Scenes for this that I think you'd enjoy a lot: ruclips.net/video/Q8ugJnIG_Lk/видео.html

MIND BLOWING just like I told it was with not only hearing but visual surprises included. I loved watching your reaction bruh and knew you'd tear up too. That's bc PTX in this specific video, it was a theatrical performance. Brian May from Queen, posted to PTX that Freddie Mercury would be proud! Besides 5 years in the making, this video was created in a neighborhood, on the street that the motorized couch traveled on, plus the floodlights and other equipment needed. If you watch it again you'll see in the dark shadows, homes and the white fences. The only reason it took 5 years is bc they respected Freddie's work and wanted to do it well. In my book, they certainly did! I'm glad I subbed you on your 1st PTX song .. I absolutely enjoy your commentary and EXCITEMENT and I'm looking forward to more bruh.

I loved watching your reaction to this song! And yeah, they really knocked it out of the park. They haven't really done a bad song (that I've seen anyway) and they excel at both covers and their own original work.
I would definitely recommend their covers of "Hallelujah", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", "The Sound of Silence" and "Mad World" to get a good range of their... range I guess. *LOL* And also, as some have pointed out, there's been one change in the line-up over the years. Avi, who was singing bass in this (had the longer dark hair in a ponytail) ended up having to leave the group due to some family commitments, but helped with finding his replacement, Matt, who you'll no doubt see in other performances of theirs.

The second moment is the sprawl on the couch, shown right after the shot of the stars, is a nod to the album cover of Queen's Sheer Heart Attack. Dr May also posted this mv on his social media with the word, "Enjoy".

Thank you for another great reaction! You're so into it, it's amazing to watch and I can't wait for more... you have so much to discover and I'm here for it. Please do "Gold" and "Can you feel the love tonight" 😀and I really like your filter with the music notes

I love your honest reaction and your insightful breakdown of the video production. This one doesn't look complicated but you know, as a music producer, that it is. Also it was fun seeing your face when they panned back and forth on "little high, little low" and then a minute later when Avi's bass kicked in and I knew exactly what you were hearing and why you were reacting the way you were. I subscribed for Pentatonix and I thank you for continuing to react to them. Cheers!

You need to watch the 'Green Fields, Bohemian Rhapsody, Hyde Park'. 60,000 people, singing to Bohemian Rhapsody, most of them not even born when Freddie Mercury died.

The megaphone is only a prop. I have seen them in concert do this live and he sounds exactly the same without the prop.

Since I haven't seen anyone else mention this, the megaphone, is just a prop for the video, when they do this live, Mitch only uses the microphone, and sounds identical, every bit of the guitar is his voice, no enhancements.

You might also want to check out Coldest Winter from one of their Christmas albums! Mitch is sooo good! I also recommend Love Again, which is an original, as well as their cover of Gold by Kiiara. They definitely have a way of pulling emotions out of you with their songs. Thanks for the reactions!

Is it not just completely weird, how you can hear music or a tune that brings a sense of melancholy I guess, just as he said it brought tear to his eyes even though it's not a sad type of song. This very same thing happens to me as well. But I know people who are completely unaffected but music or harmonies, but it hits me like a train.!

The Grassi Guitar does not require a megaphone. It is just a prop to draw attention to who is making the sound. I heard it done live and it was EPIC.
Mitch might be the reincarnation of Freddie Mercury. Freddie died in November 1991 and Mitch was born in July 1992. He can also grow the Freddie mustache. It is so close to matching it is kinda creepy.
