im 30 years old and wanted to go back to school to get my bachelors, and become a high school teacher. I should be finished with everything by the time im 35-36. In your opinion, would you say that is too old to get hired? Ive seen people say that most new teachers are 23-26 years of age when contracted with a school. Any thoughts?

We've known many teachers who've entered the profession at your age, or even older. This is especially true in the past several years, as a teacher shortage has been affecting many districts around the country.

It depends on what you want to teach. If you're an aspiring science or math teacher, you won't have much of a problem but for everything else you'll be in competition with the younger grads.

TheMindChemist I got out of the Army when I was 30 and starting using my gi bill to become a high school teacher. You can do it so I'd say give it all you've got and you will be successful. In my experience your age will not hurt you in fact the experience you have will be a benefit.
